There's a reson this movie went on to become an 8 year long running series with 10 installments.
I think the premise here is very unique, a bisexual main character involved not in a love triangle but basically a harem with his coworkers, one of them is his boss and the other his roomate.
The series greatly expanded on the concept and I'm here for the pure chaos.

This show isn't promoting power abuse nor promoting harassment like it's a good thing, by the contrary.

Snowflake woke westerners in the comments plaguing a beautiful comedy that speaks up AGAINST problematic behavior and set good role models.
By making fun of serious issues in a lighthearted way, this drama opens room for conversation and gets many positive messages across but idiotic braindead people can't grasp the concept of comedy.

If you're one of them don't even at me cuz you'll be instablocked, I'm so done being bullied by these users calling me a rapist without any consequences.

1. Learn how to read your because your comment doesn't address what I've actually said so it's a strawman.
2. Your comment is contradictory because you said "don't say this type of comedy is part of our culture because it's not" then you proceed to say "this is a serious issue in majority of asian countries and suicide rate is very high".
3. Your comment above means nothing because this comedy was produced in Japan so it's by definition a byproduct of Japanese Culture.
4. If this is a serious issue in Japan then workplace harassment IS part of Japanese Culture, don't need to be a genius to know that.
5. You sound like a woke westerner who don't understand that producing comedy or laughing about serious issues isn't equal to supporting or approving of said issues.
6. By making fun of serious issues, this drama gets many positives messages across AGAINST the issues it's making fun of. Not promoting them.
7. Just because you're allegedly Asian, doesn't mean you speak on behalf of all 48+ countries inside Asia nor you get to speak on behalf of all citizens of your country. You're a traitor who allows westerners to taint Japanese Culture.

Kieta Hatsukoi does a perfect job capturing the high school teen love experience, while balancing realism and comedic fiction perfectly.

Ida-kun is almost too good to be true.Ssuch a handsome and tall boy like him would be popular and conceited as heck.

However, Ida does have his flaws such as the classic japanese conflict avoidance thing to the point of entering a relationship out of pity/fear. He also has a few moments of realistic teen immaturity such as when he accidentaly teased Aoki so it's really surprising to see the way he confidently dates Aoki despite homophobia and also his calm and collected way of dealing with the homophobic teacher.

We are able to allow ourselves to relax and laugh at fictional comedy without bringing real life ethics and shaming people for fictional behavior.

Kakeru from Kimi ni wa Todokanai used to feel like an underdog compared to his childhood best friend Yamato. Yamato is a "succesful" handsome and smart student while Kakeru is an "underperforming" regular dorky teen.

Yamato loves Kakeru ever since they were children but Kakeru doesn't feel worthy enough to be loved and doubts that Yamato truly loves him. Kakeru overworks himself in order to catch up with Yamato and slowly grows confidence so by the end of the show he accepts that Yamato truly loves him.

There's no point in talking about this with this OP.

They're known to not being able to grasp the concept of comedy and all of it's multiple applications and subgenres such as: Mindless Lighthearted Comedy, Veiled Social Commentary Comedy, Comedy as Trauma Relief Therapy and Dark Humor for example.

Every single time that a comedy uses questionable behavior as the punchline this person has to virtual signal, kill the mood, bring real life criminalistics and accuse people who enjoyed the show of being problematic enablers in real life with sadistic tendencies for enjoying such vile immoral shows.

Overall an unreliable commenter that deserves a ignore/block button if there was one. I even tried to delete my account and decided to quit the site forever after this person called me a harasser/rape supporter.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to delete my account but now that I'm a little stronger and cooled off I got the guts to write this comment.

Thank you, this is exactly the comment I was hoping for. I honestly need help finding some themes I end up missing in shows. If you have any extra obvservations it's gonna help me in a future rewatch.
