casual cdrama watchers would not fully appreciate the ART that TES is (in all aspects, especially the post production interviews), I said what I said šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

On Autumn's Concerto 2 days ago
so apparently MGTV announced today that autumn’s concerto is in the list of classic Taiwanese dramas that will be remade into short dramas. first of all, why?? second of all, pls don’t. I actually hope its production will be cancelled coz there is no way they can retain the essence of AC in a short drama šŸ’€one of the reasons why the story is the way it is because of its length to begin with 🫠 also, im a big cdrama watcher/enjoyer, but i did start with Taiwanese dramas first back in the day. and tbh, cdramas will never be able to capture the essence of Taiwanese dramas, much less the classic ones. they just won’t hit the same way

This is "my" first ever drama of ZRN and i can confirm that her acting skills are great. I can't think…
I didn’t read the novel as well. actually I haven’t read any cdrama novels so I can say I am a purely drama-only. also, yes, I fully agree. it was like the novel-adaption of the role was written for ZRN

seen some comments (re)surfacing saying that ZRN is a bad actress because of how she portrayed WFY. firstly, excuse me but what?? secondly, that’s just rude. ZRN’s known strength is in portraying emotionally heavy scenes and her crying scenes are basically top notch (+ reference to My Love film). would say she’s known for her crying scenes like how Zhang Jing Yi is known for her running scenes. I think ZRN did great in bringing WYF to life. I felt all the anxiety and sadness that WYF felt while I was watching her trauma come to light.

Title Reborn
i have watched almost all the dramas in the recommendation of this drama. loved ZJY too. is this drama romantic…
not a romance-driven story line. the main focus isn’t romance but there are sprinkles of it here and there, which I personally found the romance aspect to be enough. it has quite an emotionally-heavy story, with large focuses on family, growing up, and some sensitive-in-Chinese-society topics.

I’m ded, now I can’t cry (coz it’s lowkey funny and makes no sense) at LN’s drunk-call crying scene because…

spoiler regarding LN’s drunk-call crying scene
I’m ded, now I can’t cry (coz it’s lowkey funny and makes no sense) at LN’s drunk-call crying scene because there was no way the best friend could have recorded him from behind the railing when the best friend himself was also seated the whole time 😩 poor editors 🄲

they got back together because under all the lust in their so called situationship, rs dynamic differences and struggles, pride/ego and self esteem issues, they both loved and cared deeply about each other. and yes, love is never the only thing that can keep a relationship going. and that’s why they broke up. just like what SZT mentioned in her monologue, when one is too egoistic and the other is too humble (in a way that is destructive), the rs was bound to fail. maybe a classic way to put it is that they each had to become better versions of themselves (SZT in gaining self confidence, LN in putting down his ego entirely and sincerely acting on his true feelings) and meet each other again then in order to get back together for good. and we really mustnt forget that SZT specifically mentioned that she did miss him, in a way that her heart feels empty when she happens to think of him. so the feelings to reconcile were mutual, she was just scared and very hesitant initially, and understandably so.

LN winning SZT back - (drama only, didn’t read the novel) basically his consistent and continuous efforts in dropping by at SZT’s place in Harbin. all in the pretext of looking after Luke but we all knew, including SZT šŸ˜‚, what his real end goal was. and girlie didn’t even stop him from driving her home the very first time he offered to so she basically dropped her home address in his lap šŸ˜‚ and after that, every time he dropped by with groceries and Luke’s food, she didn’t appear to chase him out either. he basically made himself at home in her kitchen. like ok pop off, acts of service king šŸ˜‚

the first frost totally spoiled my standards for showing timelines in drama episodes LOL. because wdym there was almost no mention of the years they were in from the second half of ep 21 all the way till ep 23. and suddenly we are in 2021 in ep 24 already 😭 like I barely remembered which year flora left Beijing šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

the ending was very sweet 🄹did the final 4 eps feel rushed? yes. but I still devoured them anyway šŸ˜‚ I just have a small gripe with how the last 2 eps were barely 45 mins when ep 21 was over 50 mins 😤like seriously?? 😩 and the fact that they changed the part about how Luke found out about SYZ’s death and leaving out the part where he took care of her while she was grieving. other than that, it’s been a good ride :ā€)
