This has introduced a trope I hate. I want the ML to actually put romance to the side and actually focus on revenge…
I really like this drama but I also agree that this trope is a bit annoying. We will also inevitably will get a separation/drama once her family finds out about his dad, etc.
Am I the only one disappointed by the 2FL divorce? maybe itās because I come from a family greatly impacted…
I think what the drama tried to show (not sure if itās successful or not) that the couple kind of drifted apart as the husband was busy with work, stopped involving 2FL in decisions, and didnāt keep her on top of his mind overall (like the incident with him forgetting their 2nd wedding anniversary). And since they were a relatively new couple, had no kid(s) or other obligations, it was better to go their separate ways than to endure this longer. Not saying this is right or wrong, but thatās what the drama tried to show
Well at least this isnt the met you while we were kids and like each other trope.
Iām kidding, of course. But, in a grand scheme of things, childhood connection is a harmless trope in my eyes. It was less annoying than āhaving controlling parent(s)ā, ābreakup due to a misunderstandingā, ābreakup for no good reasonā, ābinge drinkingā, or countless others š¬
Super happy for the drama team but is this really a surprise? The is drama based on a novel by a talented writer…
I see your point :) As an outsider, if a drama is based on a good novel (or has good screenwriter) and has a good cast, my expectation is that it should be good. So thatās why I wasnāt surprised here :)

Haters! š³
I havenāt watched every single C-drama in 2025 but my hidden gems are The Best Thing (knew nothing about it beforehand) and When Destiny Brings the Demon (sizzling chemistry and censors who clearly fell asleep during review process, lol). Mobius was also a bit of a dark horse but not sure it can be called a surprise :)
The same writer also wrote āYou Are My Gloryā and you can view 2ML here as an alternate-universe version of ML in YAMG. Both of them rejected FLs in their youths, both had feelings of inadequacy, but one of them was able to deal with it & got the glory (š„°) while other one did not
Congratulations to SOM for winning "Surprise of the year award" I'm so proud of Longlong and maimai,Its…
Super happy for the drama team but is this really a surprise? The is drama based on a novel by a talented writer and starring well-known actors.
Later this year thereās going to be a third drama in Hidden Love/The First Frost universe (the writer of which also wrote When I Fly Towards You) and will have a well known cast. Are we going to be surprised if that one turns out well? š¬š
But they are not childhood friends or anything like kdramas do, for me this was very obvious that something is…
Childhood connections is a well-worn trope in C-dramas too :) But in this drama we have a tragic childhood for ML (because of his dad) AND to make it even more stressful we have a connection between his dad and her dad (and not a good connection). I know everything is going to be resolved amicably but still makes me a bit anxious. I can appreciate a drama like that but I must confess to enjoying those rare few dramas where leads get along with their families and families get along with each other :)
This drama would be even MORE enjoyable if they didnāt add a fated connection between fathers of FL & ML. We really need a rule that a drama can have only one of (a) tragic childhood upbringing or (b) unfortunate connection between leadsā families š³š¬
Thereās a difference between being nostalgic and being OLD. Unfortunately, this drama falls squarely into the…
Out of everything that happened in episodes 1 & 2, focusing on her behavior at the party is giving that moment too much weight. In the heart of it, the core themes of this drama are pretty relevant, especially given low birth rates in Korea (along with many other countries).
this may get me back into watching dramas since i took a long break yet im not sure if i should
This is a very good drama as long as your expectations are accurate. Itās not a romcom but a more thoughtful drama about imperfect people trying to understand each other while dealing with their fears, doubts and self-criticism. There are also multiple twists/discoveries along the way ;)
Not saying this is right or wrong, but thatās what the drama tried to show
