I understand and Im sympathetic to the political issues this production has faced and why it was boycotted by Thai fans of the story.
Despite that this show deserved to do so much better and even here, the number of "watchers" is so low. The actors (particularly Nut) were good and the production was better than most thai bls.

I also recommend watching "Between Us". Boun was the first Thai actor i had a crush on.

lol those who are truly awful people and cause harm are red flag characters as that is their real nature. I am generalising but most of us who have empathy, learn and grow. Your definition of red flag is different to mine.

You view his behaviour as abusive. I agree, But I can see more and interpret that Scorn has done some soul searching, has grown and wants to be a better partner. I chose a happy ending. You focused on the fact that he is a red flag and will continue to be a red flag.

Now in reality, I would probably be more pessimistic, He is always going to be more on the selfish. I still dont see him as a real red flag because I define them as those with the goal is to exploit, harm others in pursuit of their goals. His goal was his partner.

I still think you fail to understand that it is only your subjective interpretation of facts and behaviours that lead to your conclude that he is a red flag. And my subjective interpretation doesn't see him as such.

A trained psychologist would be better equipped then you & I to determine the reality of his character and assess him more objectively. But in fiction we are all correct in how we decide to interpret behaviour. That is why I accept your interpretation but why I think you have a problem accepting or understanding mine.

Why are you upset about how others interpret the behaviour of a fictional character? I think you struggle to understand the difference between reality and fiction/fantasy. In fiction we are all allowed to have our own interpretation of characters motives and its not hurting anyone.

Almost all people have red flags behaviour while growing up, if still dealing with trauma (unable to have a healthy relationship until they deal with issues), sometimes through ignorance. We are not born mature and good and perfect. We learn and grow and try to do better. Or are you saying that you are PERFECT?
I define a true red flag character as someone with some antisocial behaviour personality traits. I didnt interpret Scorns ultimate motive was to hurt Jun, but rather he was unable to deal or express his emotions.

Of course I would side with domestic abuse victims even if they stayed. Harm is being done. Again dont get confused with reality and fiction. Would you not side with the victim?

His behaviour was red flag, but I dont consider him a red flag character. I see him more as emotionally immature leading to selfish and manipulative behaviour. Red flag characters are not redeemable as that is their nature. (at least in real life).

In real life, if Jun didnt want the attention, HR and the police would be involved.
But in this bl fantasy, Jun wanted that attention from a hot good looking guy he had a crush on. He just wanted it packaged with romance and emotions. That is my interpretation. (But yours may differ). If I had interpreted that Scorns actions were not wanted by Jun, then I would consider it to be rape/sexual assault.

I thought the production, actors, story plot was good enough (or could have been) to not to need to go into Lakorn territory where things get absurd and ridiculous.

When I compare it to My Stand in, this is disappointing. Restart could have been so much more. It had everything going for it to be a great series which told a compelling story.

I would rate it as good for thai standards at about 8. In comparison, i gave My Standin a 10 because it stuck to telling the story without becoming silly and over exaggeration.

I thought Jimmy had left bl dramas and was going to continue to study medicine.

Everything i have read up points to the relationship between ML and director and production team.
Director and production team decide on how they tell the story. Or are you arguing they were airing episodes, listening to fans, and then deciding on how the plot will go.

I dont think that 2nd ML or his popularity would be the reason why they made the changes. I think it had something to do with the director and his decisions or relationship with ML.

I loved both the ML and second ML (he stole my heart) .
I agree with you about the ML - he is extremely rational and that can be toxic to others who cant handle it.

Either way I love toxic crazy characters because they are more interesting in fiction. A good perfect human who does nothing wrong and doesnt need to grow makes for a rather boring story.

If you want to watch something really good take a look at Secret Garden - its an older kdrama and easily one of my favourite

I am also feeling the same as you are about most bl series in general however this show has managed to keep my attention and im intrigued and entertained so far.

Im finding most bls are now giving us quantity and producing a bunch of mediocre tropes and cliches, Its becoming harder to find something that I want to watch. Watching bls has started to become a chore.

I felt the same way as you do - mine began with My Magic Prophecy ( everybody loved it). If I had not seen over 130 thai bls I may have also enjoyed it. But now I can see how amateurish and unoriginal most bls actually are. The acting doesn't convince me, and characters arent interesting enough to make me care what happens. I feel like this about a lot of bls.

Life is too short to watch bls or any drama that dont meet your standards and doesnt make you happy. Drop them.

its not as bad as The Next Prince which had I think over 10 pages of reviews rating it a 10 within the first week of airing.

I do agree that Joong has very few facial expression now that you mention it.
However, I dont think Dunks acting is worse than any other bl actors and the criticism he gets is unfair. Most bl actors are cast for their looks. Yet Dunk constantly gets picked on by the very discerning MDL bl audience who are all experts in this field.

I will always adore Dunk for his performance as Style in THK.

i find that I much prefer the older Korean dramas. Sometimes i find the newer dramas are too polished and clinically produced (manufactured with the right tropes to please the target market)
I know its not this drama is not that old but it has that feel and charm. Its not perfect but i am enjoying it.

Also want to add that I love the chemistry between the leads

I really like Jaonine in Knock Knock, Boys.
His character here seems so prim and proper ( in appearance) as opposed to Latte.
