I’m sorry, but I don’t want to hear anything more about how handsome Qi Min and Yuan Qing are to fans. These two character are psychopaths. They are abusive murderers and shouldn’t be shipped with anyone. There is no love in what’s happening to Yu Qian. Don’t get me wrong, the two actors are doing a great job realizing these two disturbed individuals. The fact that these supporting characters are creating such a reaction from the audience is because of their acting. But the characters are irredeemable and should meet a horrible fate.
They fleshed even the minor characters so well that my heart aches for Li shu, Constable Wang and even Granny…
Thid is why they spent so much time in the village. The payoff of emotions were worth it. I cried with Changyu because even as the “town jinx”, these were her people. It was sad to see so many people who were a part of her life die. Even the spoiled magistrates daughter wouldn’t give her up and died honorably.
Before I write anything else, I just have to say that Tian Xi Wei is killing it in this role. All the actors are doing a great job but I just have to single her out in particular for being the emotional driver of these last couple of episodes. This is my first time seeing her in a role. I definitely can’t wait to see more from her in the future.
Nope he is the one sending mixed signals. He wants to go away. If he likes her, he should have told her his feelings…
So many good points. I think from the ML’s perspective he felt like he was being pushed out the door. She brought up him leaving instead of simply letting him know she wanted him to stay. She had everything packed and the divorce letter ready to sign. His response was out of hurt and a bit of childishness. Many times in fights we lash out and say things we shouldn’t say. Him talking about having a wife who can manage a household was definitely a gut punch considering all she had been doing for him while he was hurt. And bringing up the scholar was unnecessary. But she took some personal shots as well. I think we have all been in fights with people we like/love and your really upset about the circumstance you’re in and unfortunately take it out on each other. I guess I’m not on his side or her side. They were both throwing wood on that fire.
There are lips emoji in the calendar at ep 25 so prolly they will be reunited on or before that ep
I hope they aren’t apart that long. Maybe they interact in some other way but the leads being apart for that many episodes is too much. I started missing them in the same episode when they separated. But I do know it must happen to tell the story properly. Just don’t try to hook her up with someone else in the meantime.
People seem to be happy about FCY slapping XZ. But was that fair? He kissed her and he asked her to wait a year for him to return. That’s pretty much the norm for soldiers running off to war. Had he been a regular man picked up during the draft, that’s how long he would have been on the front anyway. It seems odd because she was finally getting a commitment from him that he would come back. She’s sending mixed signals.
So when they separate, will this be the time that the 2ML gets his shot at Changyu? I’m not a fan of the love triangle trope. I hope it doesn’t even start.
Ok, the manager is not the best wing woman, how did she not set up a babysitter or a different room for Changyu's…
I don’t know, I’m still a bit off put by Yu Qian’s advice to her about getting pregnant before he left. And Changyu basically accepts that advice. Aren’t you already struggling taking care of your little sister? So being a single mother will make that better? “You must feed the wolf to get the cub.” Girl if you don’t sit down.
bro, how am I to sit still with these previews 😭😭😭
I know right. If they hurt Ning I’m not sure if I can keep watching. I get character motivation and all but I think that would be too dark of a turn for the show.
am I the only one having trouble with understanding the political part of the story?? help?
The thing that confuses me about the political stuff ane names and who is on what side. You have two princes. You have an old general and a powerful chancellor. You have the Wei and the Li clans. I’m not sure if we have two groups working against each other or three. There might be more. Based on previews I think we are about to get more into the political stuff.
also, with zhu yu. i REALLY MISS 50-60 epsisode dramas 😭
This is definitely a show that could use 50 episodes. They have so many threads going now with the introduction of new characters, romances and political plots. We still need answers about the origin of the Fan sisters, Yu Qian’s son’s origins and why it matters and Xie Zheng’s revenge arc.
i don't understand why there are people saying the last couple of eps are "dragging" and are "fillers".…
It’s also important to establish the family life of the main couple. He has found peace and a family with her and the little sister and the old couple. So now he is conflicted about leaving. It’s important because once it’s inevitably taken away, it provides motivation to the characters. Based on the previews, they are about to lose their bit of peace and happiness for a while. I love that they are taking the time to establish the family dynamic because it will make us miss it when it’s gone.
