Melody of Golden Age Episode 20

If only Yan Xing would ask Shen Du about the woven pig instead of making assumptions on her own... I bet there is a letter from his mother, or something of similar value, hidden inside—not a token from some other girl! The only girl in his heart has been Yan Xing all along, whether he had a name and a face for her yet or not.

A night under the stars brings back some beautiful memories for Shen Du. I am so happy! It seems like her unique way of naming the stars is finally acting as a bridge to his childhood. Maybe soon he will realize that Yan Xing is actually the girl he's been searching for all these years? 🤞

I live for those moments of their pretend affection for each other. They make my day! And I can relate to Yan Xing's sleeplessness in the Shen mansion - I wouldn't be able to sleep in such bright place either.

I hope I’m in for a wild ride with these two stubborn characters taunting each other! I love the tension. It seems neither lead is willing to surrender to the other. This is exactly the kind of dynamic I want to see—watching the development of a relationship where both sides are equally strong-willed. One major question has risen for me: both leads met as children, and Shen Du gave Yan Xing a talisman/necklace, which we see in her flashbacks. However, Shen Du’s third condition for their marriage caught my attention: "She’s not the wife he wants to marry." This makes me believe he has someone else in mind—perhaps the girl from his childhood? If so, he’s actually married to the right woman but doesn't know it yet! I can't wait to see if this is a translation trick or a major plot point.

I am starting this show solely because of Ding Yuxi. I loved him in his other work and wanted to see more. His character, Shen Du, has such a domineering presence in every scene—he truly takes the spotlight. I am already hooked and so excited! I still get that thrill of suspense whenever he enters the screen. I feel like a total fangirl, but his performance is just that good!

I loved the dynamic between both main characters! This episode was much more fun to watch than the first one, likely because the leads finally met. Their interactions are quite funny and have a great energy. 🙂

I am starting this show solely because of Dylan Wang; I'm intrigued to see him in this kind of villainous role. To be honest, I’m not entirely convinced I'll stay until the end yet, as the first episode didn't quite grab me. I even found myself a bit confused at times, trying to figure out if certain scenes were flashbacks or the present day. However, I’m still curious to see where the story goes, so I’ll definitely give it a few more episodes!
