I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the inclusion of Tee and Lee in the friend group as well. It was nice to see their characters being treated as humans rather than something merely to laugh at, which is how those types of characters are often used. Points to New for that one.

Good point! (Ughh yeah I remember that from TT too). I‘m sure I’ve heard the terms being used that way in shows from other cultures too, but if I have, I don’t remember lol. But I’ve definitely heard it in more than one Thai BL, so you may be on to something! Just another problematic characteristic of the genre (which I generally enjoy lol but I’ve got to call them out on their problematic tropes and themes).

Aww man that’s disappointing! But yes, fingers crossed it was just a rough start and/or you’ll find something redeemable to have made it not a total bust.

Yeah, the more I’ve seen of New’s work, the more I’m finding it to be hit or miss. I think he struck gold with LBC and how well-received it was because he seems to have picked up a lot more work since then versus before, it it doesn’t necessarily make him a brilliant director (not saying he’s terrible of course, just no Spielberg or Tarantino, though he’s sometimes hyped up to be).

I think it’s just average, nothing to write home about but not horrible. I hate one of the main leads (Gun) though; that’s my biggest gripe.

I’ll be honest. Season 2 didn’t have quite that same magic for me as Season 1, but it was still really good! And having finished it, all I can say is that ENDING!! And don’t even get me STARTED on that brief, horrible scare I had in the middle of the final episode regarding the Crown Prince; y’all know what I’m mean?? Hoping they continue with a third season. The set up is definitely there.

I wonder if Drake is a Disturbed fan. That “oh, ah, ah, ah, ah” he did at the beginning of his song was veeeeery reminiscent of David Draiman lol

Exactly! You also pointed out some stuff I hadn’t thought about but agree with as well. Writing aside, I think maybe Win is not right for this part. I don’t think he has the charisma to pull of this bad boy, headstrong casanova. I hated his initial whining P’Baaaaaaar and then he’s all of a sudden asserting his “dominance.” Ugh, I could go on but I’d probably just keep thinking of stuff and it’d never end XD. I’m really hoping I’ll find the couples in the other parts to be more enjoyable than this one (that other couple who was lap-sitting was already way more appealing, don’t know if they’re one of the couples though lol).
