There's also another series coming out called So Much In Love. It has multiple couples (like in this one) including a GL couple, so maybe the person on twitter was confusing that with what Liz said? Just a thought--I could be completely off haha.

Catching up on episodes and ugh I just have to say I really hate Hwa. I think her character was terribly written. All this time she's crushing on/in love with Fighter. He tells her he's not interested and she runs crying to Day asking what's wrong with her, what's wrong with Fighter, what can she do to make him date her, etc. Like girl. Get it through your head. YOU. ARE NOT. THE ONE! And then the moment Day confesses his feelings she's all like Fighter who? And acts like she's been in love with Day this whole time. She's so desperate and dependent on having a boyfriend, and I really can't stand female characters like that.

On another note, before I took a break from this, I remember not being that interested in Zon and Saifah but whaaaaa they're so cute! Like two little school girls in love haha. Zon is just *chef's kiss*. Of course I love Fighter and Tutor too...those kisses, don't even get me started.

I also looooove Japan and Tanthai and want them to get their own series lol

I’d say they’re leaked. Although they were released early on the WeTV app, the reason they’re on YouTube is because someone without authorization recorded them and uploaded them there. Please only watch from the official links and account (My Engineer Official) so that we can support the series.

The lack of details and tacking it on at the end makes me think they later realized how dumb/unbelievable it is to have only one character speak Korean, so they came up with some quick, half-assed reason and left it at that lol. No hate—it just felt like a very cheap/lazy way to explain that haha

I’d be down for that! I know some people don’t like Earth’s acting lol but I enjoy him, and he was awfully cute in UWMA (though I couldn’t stand the series as whole haha ^^’). And I loved Fluke in My Bromance (not so much in UWMA, but he just needs a good script—sorry, don’t mean to keep shading the show lol); would definitely want to see him more. Assuming that’s the Earth and Fluke you were referring to ^-^

Definitely agree with ya! I hate to see dramas hated on or ranked lower merely because they have a sad ending, when overall it’s far superior to one that’s higher ranked and with a happy ending (but objectively not the same quality-wise). I feel like I’ve been seeing (in my opinion) inflated ratings a lot lately.....but I digress. Your middle paragraph—on point!

Do you think that MAME was unhappy with New’s work or maybe they had some creative differences? Don’t want to speculate or accuse anyone of anything of course, especially not with all the other drama surrounding LBC, but this is actually the first time I’m thinking about the author choosing the director (because I’d imagine in most instances the authors are just pleased to have their works adapted and they don’t have much say due to unequal bargaining power, which may not apply to MAME after LBC) so this is interesting to me haha

Hmm yes I think your choice of words is better. I guess because typically the one referred to as “wife” is usually adamantly opposed and repulsed by that, I associate it with being insulting . Not necessarily intentionally mean, and probably derived more from ignorance and insensitivity like you said. And I’ll just add heteronormative to the mix as well.

Yeah that would be a terrible reason to hate on it! I’m sure they were trying their best and I’m just thankful they put it there and gave subs.

Decent first episode, but it took me a little while to get oriented lol. It felt like we were coming in, in the middle of the story and hadn’t benefited from some needed backstory, but I think it’s because the “build up” between Bon and Duen was rather quick.

Was also very amused by the following:
(1) When Duen is teasing Bon about Bon being the former prom king, and Bon responds along the lines of, “Why can’t I be prom king if someone as stupid as you is studying to be a doctor.” He was so offended lmao
(2) When Bon says he has to go the bathroom so he can wait for Duen by himself but all of a sudden all his friends have to pee too. So silly, I love it haha

No I totally agree. I definitely think there are some sexist and misogynistic undertones to those labels! If one partner is fine with it or is gender-fluid or something similar then it’s another story, but when it’s used as a put-down and insult then it becomes an issue.

Yesss. And I love how he acts all clueless about things to get closer to Tine (well maybe it’s not an act, but either way very amusing). Like when he seemed to not know what the “follow” button was for on Instagram until Tine explained it and then he started following Tine because that was something he was interested in lmao. Pure gold.
