A drama with big dialogues and a big nothing.

Before I can write my review, I want to say main FL role is taken up by an actor who can't act and it is evident by many other reviews here. So I am not going to focus on that as plenty of people have already spoken regarding her acting and her role so much. First things first, FL wasn't the actual problem why this drama is the worst I seen in 2024. The whole storyline and every character development (including both ML's) is the main problem including the directing style, pacing, as well as the camera work.

The story starts of as a promising story about two young boys despite not seeing eye to eye with each other, get together to achieve an ambition. One is an illegitimate son and other is a son born to a poor family whose father is a murderer (which was framed by ML in order to make sure his dad rots in jail to avoid physical abuse and protect his mom.)

Now before I continue let's remember the fact this drama is only 12 episodes long and has at most 53 to 55 minutes of airtime in Disney.

Right off the bat for a 12 episode drama they unnecessarily introduced ML's father, aka Tae oh father as someone who is trying to get back to his son for revenge for framing him of murder. You have 12 episodes, where both ML want to climb the ladder. Tae oh will support Inha to become the chairman of Kang oh group despite being a illegitimate heir and Tae oh being the intelligent one wants to ensure Inha becomes chairman so he can climb a social ladder to a height where it is impossible for a poor person to reach. Sounds really a great drama right???

Now this was the premise established, which means both ML's need to beat current chairman, his two other sons who are legitimate heirs. The chairman wife and other family members. You basically have this many enemies to beat in order for both ML's to make their goal possible in only a 12 episode drama. A bit too many enemies to beat for a 12 episodes drama, on top this after 6th episode they added one more big villain.

The drama direction style introduced fast time skips which includes high school phase, college phase, employee phase, succession phase, where the story doesn't give you the chance to feel any kind of attachment to any character as a viewer as it so fast and abrupt and so many things are happening at once. Romance, succession , business plans, first crushes, politics etc. You also don't find yourself rooting for both ML's success as they are both someone who wants to crush the current owners to climb the top. So it was basically a dog eat dog world situations, so none of the characters aren't really good people, but are in morally grey area except for 2 or 3 who crossed towards red. On top of this heavy storyline, writer introduces main FL who too wants Kang oh group. But why Kang oh group??? As for Inha he is a part of family although illegitimate, as for Tae ha, he met Inha in high school, got to know his situation and decided to climb the ladder with him. Viewers thought fine FL might be very clever who will use tactics to gain Kang oh group all for herself by using two ML's, but instead she is nothing but a gold digger portrayed by an actress who can't even act.

The current chairman who both ML's want to beat is also a poorly written character. All he does is make threats that aren't even clever. He does things that only fills the screen time but nothing actually happens through his role at all. He is just there for MLs to beat him, like in a chess where the most useless piece is the king who only moves one step and doesn't really do anything significant, his role is like that.

The whole writing of this drama sucks, really really bad. The drama uses big dialogues, suddenly creates business scenarios in ML's favor, that don't fit the style of characters that were initially introduced. It just uses big big dialogues and a story that is trying to make sense, but if you actually try to understand it in a logical way, this is all nothing but one big fluff. Like it is making sense but if you actually think, none of it makes sense. For example, let's say you want to write a scenario where a character has to die, so writer decides to write an accident scene for that character. It makes sense and we can accept the character death. But if you start to think why should an accident actually happen to this character, what is the purpose of killing this character off, will it make any sense to the actual story, does it contribute to anything, is it consistent with the storyline etc. If you think in those lines, this drama as I said seems something but is actually nothing.

Most viewers are tired of all main leads of this drama, some of them like support FL, only because she is the only one that is normally written. It's not like she is some awesome role, but after every character is a disaster, a normal role also appears to be great plus the actress choi hee jin who plays that role acts really well (good acting skills btw) compared to main FL actress who can't act. Overall this drama is just a waste of time for me. It is like a bad car crash that I can't look away.

Good time pass show

The show is a one time watch, it is not boring. But if I have to take seriously about issue which the story is all about I find it bit illogical. FL, ML, the current king all are tied up as one team to fight against a evil scholar, aka the villain of this drama. What I never understood is that the villain motivation for which he killed many people is very weak. His motivation is nothing but his stubbornness that he is always right. On the other hand the Villain, time to time speaks very rudely to the king. The king just smiles and ignore, because he is waiting for the evidence to prove the villains crimes. But in my opinion I still don't understand how the Villain is more powerful. He only has one another minister support, he doesn't have more financial wealth than the king, nor does he have influence on many ministers to start rebellion or a private army to feed so. The villain could easily be killed at any time by a simple assassination. But the king keeps saying he wants to prove his crimes first, which is the whole reason why the story of this entire drama exists. I found the story of the king and the villain very weak. It doesn't have the gripping substance to feel the political immorality. It is just alright.

The drama pacing is good, and it is a good drama among the one's that are airing currently. Just a one time watch.

An action drama released without a proper story.

The drama is just a bunch of action that makes no progress. From the beginning and as per the details of the drama, it was about a 21 year old FL who is somehow targeted by killers possessing high tech ammunition like machine guns, sniper, drone killing machines, gas grenades, etc. FL is apparently targeted because of her relationship with uncle ML. Her uncle trains her to survive but let me tell you his training isn't really gruesome survival training, it is at most a self defense class that may work on a burglar or a car jack situation, but not on killers who been doing killing as profession with high artillery at their aid. Also during all this training he never tells FL why he is making her do this and what his actual job is. He disguises himself as normal business person while makes FL train for her own protection. And all that time not once FL asks her uncle aka ML what is all this or even get curious about him. Half the brain cells lost there itself

The whole four episodes is all about FL being attacked with no clear explanations other than she is ML's niece and if they kill her they will get money. It also shows ML is rich and very powerful enough but at the same time it doesn't make any sense he leaves her niece all alone on pretext she is code green and a code green will be protected by the ML organization he created but only one woman shows up to protect FL. And this woman only comes to protect FL after hearing killers gun shot instead of being with FL from the beginning when she had chance and also explain why this is happening to her and what is all the killing situation is about.

Nobody till 4th episode (the drama is only 8ep) don't explain to FL why everyone is trying to get her killed. They managed to drag this story till 4th episode. His uncle owns a secret artillery shop, FL should be killed to get money. But why, why must she be killed, why the ML is not around to protect her. Till 4th episode no clarity. Ok maybe I thought they are trying to build suspense, but till 4th episode showing no progress in any other ways is not called suspense. It is more like there isn't much story.

The drama is too slow for an 8 episodes. Only three things happened, ML goes off radar, killers try to kill FL, FL still trying to survive. There is no actual progressive conversation that makes you understand the whole point of this drama and every character action. Even the action scenes are not really well choreographed and planned.

It's almost like writers are thinking if we show an action drama with bunch of big guns, drones and killing machines and have a story that tries makes sense but at same time no actual strong storyline people would just watch because full on guns kind of action dramas are rare. And also ML is a class A actor, so people would definitely watch for him.

As of now when it comes to big action dramas, moving did the best when it comes to making sense of story. I don't understand why people are saying this is good as moving when it is not even close. Moving is very realistic written for a super hero action world and writer clearly shows audience what is going with story, why everything is happening to them. But this doesn't.

A love story that doesn't make any sense

How to begin my review, I don't even know where to start because from beginning this drama is all over the place with so many plot holes.

1. ML IS CUPID WHO IS PUNISHED FOR FALLING IN LOVE WITH AN HUMAN 500 years ago by his master god. Ok maybe god has weird rules, but he also has 3 colleagues who are also cupids like him but they all can date freely. I thought maybe god is ok with dating but not okay with cupid falling in love. But by 11th episode a tiny 9 year old looking god comes and intervenes in the fate making cupid fall in love. Is this like one god saying " i don't agree with you , a cupid can fall in love", while other god is like "cupid deserves to be punished, they shouldn't fall in love with human".

2. FL falls for cupid because he is handsome and the fact he didn't get hurt when he is with her because FL is someone who brings bad luck to men around her, which makes them get physically hurt. Due to ML handsomeness and ability to not get injured, she loves him. But till 11 episodes, no matter how many times ML reject her weakly and also not totally reject like you know clear message "hey incase you didn't know I don't like you ever, no matter how many times you confess". ML plays with her heart like tug and pull because he couldn't reveal the secret he is a cupid to FL yet instead of avoiding her or at least drawing a proper line between them, he plays with her heart, constantly giving her hope he will accept her one day. FL is all like I love him because he is handsome and we are meant to be together. Like that's all the reason their is to love. While ML who is currently getting punished for falling in love 500 years ago, not only he was being punished for 500 years, his colleagues are also getting punished for what he did. Apparently cupids are supposed to do their set service for certain no. of years on earth and later they get relieved from their job and can go to heaven. But because ML fallen in love, which is against the master god policy, his colleagues also got punished to stay another 500 years on earth. Now you would think ML at least for this colleagues sake who had to wait another 500 years to attain fulfillment and couldn't because of him might stop himself falling in love again in the current timeline as they are too close to finishing their duty and go to heaven, but no ML has to be selfish and fall in love again , and not care his colleagues who had also suffered for 500 years.

3. There is serious serial killer story in middle of this love story, a killer who took more than 5 lives. Half the time is about serial killer, half the time it is about FL being " please ML, please love me", I will love you no matter what. There is no real chemistry.

We sometimes go back to visit their previous life in Joseon dynasty, where from the first episode to now, it is the same scenes and one or two new Joseon scenes now and then. It is always the same scene of Fl falling clip, ML saving her, ML who a cupid being shot his own arrow which is the reason he felling in love with FL. His love isn't even natural. ML fall in love because the nine year old god I was saying purposely turned the arrow towards cupid himself. And these scenes get repeated in every episode.

We also have blatant display of shallowness. ML has three cupids who are his colleagues as well as friends, one of them is a old and average looking guy. They made his character pathetic by showing him constantly getting rejected by women because he is not good looking and this fact is used for comedy relief. And the character acts so stupid like he doesn't even know why girls are rejecting him. You know for a cupid who is on earth for like 500 years and visited many mirrors, one could figure out why are getting rejected and not be clueless, especially a cupid who is expert of love. Not only they made that character dumb, but also made him a low iq one who is as clueless as a hamster.

For a romance story, half the time is about serial killer which goes no where even at 11th episode, and other half time is FL whining to ML we have to be together. There is no chemistry or whatsoever. The show is so shallow, it is based on looks, we have to be together dialogues, I love you no matter what, we got shot by arrow so I'm in love that's it, but there is no real compatibility between any of the leads. The story is not going anywhere, same repeated scenes, too many plot holes and bland dialogues.

If you want to watch a show, that only has pink visuals and handsome characters, that looks all fluffy but no real substance, this is the right drama.

A storyline that tries hard to justify itself but fails to do so.

spoilers are there, read at your own risk.

As from synopsis, the story is basically about an ML who gave up on life due to unemployment and getting turned down from most jobs which leads him to feel useless and kills himself. In turn death punishes him, saying he will be transferred in bodies of people for twelve times and these bodies are someone fated to die soon and if he manages to survive in any of those twelve times, he can escape going to hell for sin of committing suicide. The whole plot is about death asking ML does he realize anything from the lives he lived, had he learnt anything and every time hero says I will beat you in this and survive against you.

Like so the hero goes to live in bodies of 12 lives who are destined to die soon. Now each episode is filled with star cast who acted those 12 lives, and it was really entertaining. It wasn't boring at all and all those lives are connected to each other in the storyline and the wrap of those lives to the whole plot made so much sense, even though these 12 lives people are strangers to each other character, yet they all are tied up together brilliantly to make sense. For that alone I gave this show 6.5 rating.

The only reason I'm disappointed is the that even to the end death punishing ML didn't justify in slightest sense. At the end hero realizes he made mistake by killing himself because he gave the people he loved to live with the pain of his death. Which is a very valid reason and I agree the ML is at fault to an extent because the only thing that put him down and depressed is his unemployment, he had other things that most people won't even have. He had a girlfriend who wasn't ashamed he couldn't find a job but was rather supportive and proud of him and was ready to take care of him always. He has a wonderful mother who didn't pressure him into finding a job. Most people who actually kill themselves are someone who is totally alone unlike ML. Maybe ML failed to recognize this and killed himself without realizing how it would impact his close lives. Which is something some of the depressed people who still have supporting families fail to realize and end lives. I agree they shouldn't do that, this is why awareness of seeking help for mental health is very important. but other half of depressed people are someone who are abandoned to live in agony.

Anyway, by my above paragraph you might think death was right punishing him because ML ended his life without thinking about loved ones, but here is the twist. As you have read, ML goes to live in 12 bodies, during this time death says she won't interfere and also says I don't kill people, people are bound to die by the fate that was written to them. All along she tells ML he committed a sin by killing himself instead of dying at the time the fate was written. She says one shouldn't choose death but should die at fate written by god.

Let me tell you, in all those 12 times ML got to live, he witness his girlfriend death who gets murdered tragically, his mother is also supposed to die in a hiking accident but got to live because ML finally won against the fate of surviving in at least one of the twelve times and last life is he possessed his mom's body. Which means ML if he didn't commit suicide, not only would have witnessed his GF death but also his mother death and still live in unemployment.

You might think if he didn't kill himself, he may have protected his gf and mom by being near them. But death clearly says their fates are destined like that. Whether any change can happen to their fates is like a roll of dice, and no body can know.

Not only that, all the ten lives ML lived, are mostly innocent lives who got killed except for two or three lives where ML entered into evil people bodies who actually deserve to die.

So in conclusion, the drama major reason of death giving punishment didn't make sense because even if ML lived he had to live in misery of losing loved one's, if he kills himself, he has to face punishment of death god and get's killed 12 times. For me, the whole series I agree ML is at fault for not thinking about his loved one's and dying, but death is the most evil person as she punishes ML whose fate is already cruel even if he doesn't kill himself and another evil is god who wrote fate of innocent people to die soon in most painful way.

A story that became disappoint after half-way

Where to begin, I knew from get go this is going to be a serial killer drama. The drama starts off incredible, we as a third could see our hero aka lee sung min, a innocent kind driver is going to get in trouble as soon as he agrees to take Yeon sook aka the serial killer as a customer and drive him to destination which is four hours away.

Spoilers ahead please be warned, I cannot describe why I gave such low rating without telling any of it.

After watching many kdramas, at that point, I thought it will be typical drama, where driver will eventually find out something is wrong with the customer through clues here and there, simultaneously police will come across some victim and figure out who is the serial killer eventually, and the goal would be to catch the culprit, while our meek hero will save the day by becoming strong. I thought it would be typical plot, but it wasn't like this at all.

From the get go, the villain jokingly admits he is a serial killer to the point he seriously reveals he is indeed a killer all by himself. And he threatens our hero and tells him he needs to stow away to another country before police finds out what he did, so the hero must drive his taxi till the destination point because he doesn't know how to drive a car himself. He reveals all the details of his life, how he killed, whom he killed and everything. Which for me felt impressive. At that point I knew this take on serial killer Kdrama is very different and unique. The drama felt fresh and kept me on toes.

That's first five episodes, it felt different and incredible.

But what comes later is utter disappointment.

Just when I was thinking wow a Kdrama about a serial killer with different kind of script and not the routine writing we usually see in other dramas felt like fresh air of art. But it quickly became a typical writing style from them on.

The hero becomes damn foolish to the point because of his selfishness and dumbness alone kills three people. But I wasn't disappointed yet. Fine who is to say a hero should never be dumb. His character from the beginning of this drama has been portrayed as a weak mindset. So I can understand, even though he made stupid decision, it still felt like a decision the character would make. He wasn't totally selfish because the villain threatened him. So even three people got killed , we can understand the hero had no choice.

By the time hero and villain had finally reached the destination where the villain wanted to stow away, the serial killer reveals to hero he had killed his daughter and not only that he also shows hero the beheaded head of his daughter. The head which he hid in a trolley and made hero carry all the way by threatening him if he won't drive taxi he will kill his daughter and if he does reach the destination in time he will spare his daughter. But now we know that didn't happen. He tells hero he purposely picked his taxi for ride, because he wanted to feel the joy of knowing the hero can never win and save his daughter. He then stabs our hero and escapes.

The villain kills countless of people, and let me tell he doesn't just physically kill people, he tortures them mentally which is even more brutal than the actual act of killing. He mocks their death and all because the villain is someone who doesn't feel any emotions and he got a weird ability where he doesn't feel pain at all even if he is stabbed. Yes, he literally doesn't feel pain.

After this our hero somehow survives, a big twist comes later on who is actually involved in this killing spree, which is actually a great twist, but moving on our hero sets out to revenge. I mean come on that is the only sensible thing to do. The hero lost his daughter, that psycho murdered his daughter which even can't be called a father's worst nightmare. It is even brutal than that. Due to what happened to the daughter, the wife of hero kills herself.

The hero finally catches the villain, but you think as an audience finally our hero can avenge his daughter death, please be as good as the glory drama revenge, no no it should be even better, but hell no, the dumbass police of every Kdrama nightmare comes again. the stupid police ruins everything. Not only that, you think after all this time the hero will become strong and clever, no the villain still tortures the hero by kidnapping his daughter in law as well. He once again puts hero through all that agony and the daughter in law escapes, but hero is unaware and assumes she is dead because he knows the villain is too cruel to leave her alive, but the police interrupt, stop the hero and say "don't kill him and go to jail, you should be good person, think of the family you left".

Are you serious, dude if something like that actually happened in real life, no family would ever say stop, all that time the police ignored pleas of the victims and dismissed under context there is no proof , telling them to bring evidence, for once if the police believed the victims none of the killings would have happened, but now when the hero is getting revenge, the police became highly functional and actually follow the law all of a sudden.

All in end, there is no actually satisfaction end to this drama, the villain has a wife who gives birth to a male son, which you would think as audience won't he also turn into a serial killer when he grows up because the villain literally says his father is also similar to him. So yeah apparently it genetics. You think the villains wife, for all sins his husband has committed would have ounce of empathy and asks forgiveness and aborts the baby. Look I am all against innocent children getting effected, but god all through the series the villain asks for a baby boy because he knew his child will eventually become like him. For greater good some hard decisions to be made. The wife not only doesn't apologize, but tells our hero she will never forgive him or her husband for making her go through that. She literally says that to a man who her husband has killed his daughter and made his wife to commit to suicide.

The villain even though gets caught at the end and gets sentenced correctly, the hero is also sent to jail for seeking revenge on the villain. I mean come on dude, the writers when it came to the villain they are like let's be so creative, but when it came to hero they all became straight and arrow. The hero literally saw 10 lives of hell in while being alive.

There is no proper revenge, police are incompetent till the end, even if villain is sentenced it doesn't make any satisfactions as he lacks emotions and pain. even if you kill villain he will lose life but will not feel pain. And you send the hero aka the actual biggest victim to jail when he is been through that much torture. The only thing good about this drama is the villain is actually perfect, he is clever, sadist and is always ten steps ahead and the writing around villain itself is very creative, other than that it is no good.

Once in a year drama

How can I start describing this marvel of a gem?

I am mostly used to kdramas who are pretty much same story lines, although entertaining and fun to watch, they are always familiar and loveable. Whether it is a legal drama, rom com, comedy or thriller.

Rarely we get kdramas that distinguish themselves very different from what we usually watch. Misaeng, my liberator notes, my mister, weak hero class 1, etc. Now you know what kind of drama I am speaking about.

My dearest, isn't a drama, it like watching a well written novel. Each and every part of the drama, every second of it is not wasted on unnecessary filler just to drag till 16 episodes. Every episode is like a chapter of a book, every character is unique, each distinguish themselves and sets them apart uniquely. Whatever things they and whatever choices they make won't seem random, because each character was given personality and not just dialogues that sum up a story.

And the most incredible thing is, both ML and FL characters are inspiration from Gone with the wind. But I have to say entire drama doesn't copy gone with the wind, but often times you get those vibes especially in the beginning. ML and FL, are complicated characters and Fl shows incredible character growth and is so unique. Fl is a brat, selfish and entitled at beginning, but she grows so much as a person in a ways that very admirable. Mi Jung from my liberation notes, hye jin from hometown cha cha cha, deok im from red sleeve are the recent kdramas that had such determined unique females who had incredible character changes, this drama does the same.

As for love story part, this drama isn't about romance or a simply historical romance story. It's main theme is love story but it is a very realistic drama, so it takes every other element that belongs to part of life of that era, and a characters thought processes, their personalities into consideration.

A must watch kdrama.

Mediocre at best

First let me give positive sides -

The story narrative was unique, each episode belongs to the perspective of our main characters. The acting is top notch. But that's about it. It gets boring too soon after 3 episodes.

The drama emphasizes on how harsh beauty standards of society effect people, now by trailer we know this is some sociopathic killing spree drama, and indeed it was. But is it interesting and unique, I have to disagree.

Every character is basically the same, they get mistreated either because of their financial status or look wise department. They become people who have stalker obsessive traits or mentally not correct anymore due to the mistreatment from their childhood or teen years, now as adults they become total maniacs with serious psychological issues and then they do something completely illegal.

My problem with this is, each and every character story is basically that's it, same litter different puppy that's all, which essentially takes away the uniqueness of character differentiation and as for story line, it is pretty much predictable, there are no major twists or unexpected plots. You can guess what is going to happen from a mile.

And most importantly, the drama has missed to make the characters in such a way that we feel emotionally connected to them. It focused more on fast story pacing. On one hand it is telling the hardships characters went through because of their ugly looks, but for you feel pity or understand why these characters became the villains or making poor choices with their present life, you won't get time to feel that as audience, because just as you begin to understand the character and connect to them, all is lost when the character immediately does something psychopathic.

Finally, there is no real substance. I mean at the end, what did you want this drama to be about? Is it about beauty standards? is it about bad parenting? is it about obsession? is it about mental illness? At the end, it's nothing but just a bunch of murder spree drama. Because nothing else was profoundly discussed.

The worst and insulting show, especially for women

I want to tell one thing to you before you read my review, this show has highest viewership in korea. Imagine how many woman there watched this and this being a family show how many teens and children watched this and thought yeah this is how a women who went through abuse should deal with the situation. For conservative countries like SK where abuse isn't talk openly much, especially to young people, the media plays a huge role in filling those gaps. Just remember this when you read my review.

I wish I could give a zero star if possible.
The story starts with a FL who is mother of two children, lives as caring housewife after giving up her career to become doctor due to conservative life style of her in law family. Everyday she caters to their excessive demands and lives like an obedient wife. One day her liver fails, and her husband is the only donor to save her. Despite being married for more than 20 yrs, like a selfish person he denies his liver and even her mother in law insists to not take his son's liver. On verge of death, she is only saved by a liver luckily due to some donor availability.

You think after this, at least now the FL will leave the husband, but no she continues to serve him, but also decides to become doctor again. From here on, she finds out he doesn't support her restarting her career, he always gaslights her into feeling guilty, never helps her, verbally abuses her, treats her like garbage, she is still recovering from major surgery yet he expects her to do house duties like before. and worst he is cheating on her and has a secret daughter. the mistress and her daughter bother the FL's children, yet the husband does nothing.

FL one minute acts like a power femina who won't forgive her husband and next moment she keeps saying it is my fault. And this continues till the end. In the end her donated liver fails again, they give medical reasons but let's face it, the mental and physical health her husband made her go through has undoubtedly is a major contribution.

The husband almost made her die, cheated on her, treated her like garbage, never respected her, used her all her life. The only thing FL did was get a divorce finally and at last everyone is forgiven and are happy with one another. The FL at the end is now embarked on a solo journey with a bad liver, even though it is treated again let's not deny that two operations is not really a good sign.

The writer herself is a female, how can a woman write such a story where it says till the end even though you were abused, just forgive everything, especially your husband, and speak to him like a friend no matter what. Does this writer even respect females. This is such an insulting story for woman who go through abuse.

if you are reading my review and haven't watched this show, just don't, save yourself and do not support this kind of show which puts down women like this.

Just a bunch of nonsense

The story takes place around two highschool boys who are best friends since they are children. It starts with one of them ill and other donating his organ to his friend which succeeds in saving him. This organ now creates a cellular memory in the ill friend making him behave and get physical tendencies as well as behavioral tendencies of his best friend. This was the fantasy concept in nutshell. But the thing is did this drama affectively made series on it, a big fat NOOO!!!. The cellular memory concept lasted maybe few minutes last few episodes. It was made a concept just to fill few minutes in each episodes and nothing really contributing to the story.

Next, we have the typical love triangle. In most kdramas when it comes to love triangle at least in mid way you can see FL is leaning towards which ML and you can see why she is going to choose that ML. But in this series the FL is merely like a beautiful porcelain doll and both our ML always get wooed when they see her. But anything happens between them that actually feels like yeah a love story is happening. A big fat No again. No love story development. Just bunch of chit chats, gazing at each other scenes, nothing significant and at end FL chooses one even though there is actual no love story happened with either of ML.

I don't expect much from a web series, the quality if writing won't be as good as a Kdrama. But common, at least stick to a concept properly. 8 episodes of nothingness is this drama.

A crash plot but directed it well enough to watch

The show is a one time watch at the most. If I am going to talk about the story it is a not an intriguing plot nor has any exciting element. Just a basic plot to watch when you don't have many exciting series going on. But one thing they did well is execution and pace. The director should be credited for this.

The story is highly predictable after first four episodes including who is the serial killer.

I have two biggest complaints, first the final episodes were a wrap fest. So many subplots ending are rushed to wrap too quickly and abusive parents are forgiven just like that and turned into good people at the end. But we all know a parent who is been abusive for many years will never change. And it's not just one parent, almost all of the over bearing parents turned into caring parents in the end.

My other complaint would be although it seemed a romantic series with title and description, most of the time frame education pressure has been a concerned topic in this drama, they showed different sufferings students had to endure yet nonetheless the show never truly focused on the education system of Korea nor it focused properly on the romance development. I mean if they showed that much suffering of students at least education system should be made as focus but the show never went deep.

The drama doesn't have strong subjective frame of what the storyline it is going to narrate or it's purpose. The only sentence that will describe this drama is "let's make a drama that has thriller, romance, soap, a mix of basic plot that is just enough for people to not dismiss it quickly and direct it well enough so it won't bore them."

the higher ratings would be probably due to fact that both actors are quite famous in Korea and second would be there aren't many light hearted romance kdramas with neat pace like this one these days and lastly student education pressure is always been an accepting drama is korea.

my overall review is if you are okay with ight hearted drama that as quite alright pace, this is good drama to watch. Don't expect a strong plot and great narrative.

Finally found something so relatable.

Living these days is not just physically exhausting but also mentally. You get up morning, go to work at a job you may or may not like and come home late at night only to realize all your day is spent on just making a living and surviving. My Liberation Notes is a drama that speaks about tired lives of this mundane society through its characters. The drama doesn't whine, but instead it profoundly creates impact through the simplicity of its set up where each character in this drama are not some extra ordinary or dramatic that you would only think they can exist in a fictional world, but instead you relate to them in every manner. At a point you will find yourselves saying "I faced the same thing just like these characters". This drama is that relatable to everyone.

For me the best part is Kim Ji Won character who speaks volumes with her courage and many find it so relatable. And Son Suk Koo aka Mr. Gu whose screen time even though is 10 to 20 min per episode with less dialogues initially, but makes every minute of his appearance impact the whole episode itself just through his expressions and powerful words.

What can I say about Lee Min Ki who well portrayed himself as a talkative sibling going through the frustration of achieving something big but couldn't because of the restrictions in his life. And finally Lee El as GI jeong who vividly expresses the fears of single women in their late 30's where finding love always seems to be far away. The characters dialogues in this drama is not just a mere dialogue but they are poetic and resonate well to the audience. I never seen a drama where dialogues don't act like fillers but has a significance.. And unlike melodrama this drama is a slice of life plus melo that has a witty sense of humor that makes you laugh.

Now that I finished this drama, the one thing I respect about this drama is that it has always depicted realistic problems of people who are suffering emotionally and mentally, so it never gave a fairy tale ending where everything seems good at the ending and everyone is happy. Instead it gave a realistic answer to those people. It told them, be brave a little, find happiness for few minutes a day at least if possible, it's okay if you are making a choice that may not seem a totally idealistic way, cause the world doesn't run perfectly, do your best little by little till you feel liberated. There will be days you qre happy and there are days where nothing goes in your way. But trudge along, and try to liberate a little by little.

A must watch if you like realistic slice of life dramas. I won't say this drama is 100% perfect in terms of writing but I still say it is one of the best I have come across in a while. Seon suk koo became my favourite actor through this.

Forecasting bad script

I was eagerly looking for this drama after reading synopsis. I thought this drama would show work and little romance of National weather service people, and be like kdrama "Live". Simple and realistic. But what I seen is nothing short of disappointment.

First, the main ML and FL chemistry is kind of off. Let me say beforehand, I don't care about age gap and I'm completely fine with it. I just simply don't see them as interesting. The romance between them seems like it is something forced developed just because they are main characters and they have
no choice but romance to happen between them. i feel like this because of the way they started, the one night stand which was a cliche way to start. The acting is also on average side. Song kang is great actor, I loved him in Navillera, his acting was good there but I don't know what happened here. Maybe it's the character writing that did unjustice to his acting potential. As for park min young, why does she walk like that. Her hips sway too much like she is on a runway platform. It's so awkward to watch her keeping still face and walk like that. Body language is also quite important in acting.

Now coming to second ML and FL, both are given the routine we have seen for ages. Cheats on main characters, gets tied up together, become scape goat of a script that will continually put them down for viewer satisfaction and glorification of main ML and FL. It's just so obvious these characters on how they will be and it makes me bored. What I am even more mad is that the synopsis of this drama described these second ML and FL as something of a potential but what I saw is total 180° of it. In description it was mentioned second ML is someone who is good at persuasion and a model student. What they shown is a loser who doesn't have any skills and nothing like in the description. Same with
the second FL. The writer is basically making second ML and FL as characters to receive as much hate as they can and I just don't see the point of it. I just want to say "yeah I understand, but unless there is a character development to them can we just move on ".

One more thing, too much improper communication at work place that seems so unprofessional. Gossips in bathrooms without checking stalls and its so unrealistic. All 4 main characters talk with their personal feelings included whenever it comes to work. Anything goes wrong at work people just shout instead of solving. And about weather, I don't know how serious korean weather is and how criticizing it is if something a little wrong is predicted, but I kinda feel they are over exaggerating the work style of National weather service in this drama for sake of dramatic effect. Or maybe not. Since I am not a korean I cannot say I am right on this. But I felt like this because, every moment of episode it's like something went wrong in Korea's weather and nobody is having a sunny day. Like every episode, I keep asking, should the weather always have some problem just to have an episode. You can write one episode on good weather and show normal day at the office. Having every episode with a weather problem is too much routine writing.

I am going to give 2 more episodes as try. But if this drama is going to be like this only I am dropping without changing this rating. But if I like it, I will definitely change.

Anybody in comments try to defend or argue. Well go ahead. But I am going to stick with my review.

Science and Astronauts will be crying.

I was eagerly waiting for this series and it disappointed me so much.
This series had a lot of budget that went into making it, yet the script writer, nor the director didn't even think of consulting some professional who can help them in aspect of spacecraft and moon since this is a sci-fi genre, but I guess the writer and the director decided to trust their own brains that doesn't have a clue about it. Not just science sucked at every episodes, the camera work, the dialogues also brilliantly sucked.

SPOILERS AHEAD...BE WARNED.

The series starts with FL and our ML along with other crew members set out to voyage to the abandoned Balhae moon station, where 117 researchers died five years earlier. Their goal is to retrieve some mysterious sample from that moon station and return back. At this point I was ok, but then the tragedy of this series began.

The FL, ML and their crew are ready to go to the moon without even having at least a few weeks of simulation training. It is so ridiculous that our FL is shown struggling to put on her seat belt because she doesn't know while she is about to go into the space in next few seconds. I mean what the hell is that. Just when you get over this absurdity another one immediately gets thrown into your face.

Just few minutes before launching off the earth, all of a sudden one of the pilot of the spacecraft gets changed. Going to moon itself is a complex mission, yet last minute they change the pilot as if it is as easy as changing driver for your car.

I kept my patience and positivity even after this. Then comes another blow, where apparently now our team took off the earth by blasting 1, 2,3 and is going on their way to moon. And apparently their spacecraft is loosely bolted to the docking machine. I cannot believe this is the reason they come up with, you can go with many internal problems to show why you should take emergency landing but they took the impossible never happening loose bolt as a reason. And the worst thing is, because of loose bolt they can't communicate to the space center crew on the earth. How does loose bolt will lead to communication system damage???

And mind these mistakes are only half of the mistakes from first episode, I could fill pages with just first episode itself. I could have let the science mistakes slide if this drama didn't have budget, but it had. It had everything to make this show proper, but they didn't. The laziness and haughtiness could be seen in the direction. The camera work is done so worst that expect for FL, ML, you cannot properly have other characters fit into the frame with clarity.

And dialogues, omg, they talk like some kind of street business men. I don't expect astronauts to never talk slang or use profanity or talk normally, they do but still you get a sense of knowledge and professional aura even when they speak in a informal way. But this one has dialogues that seem so bland, over the top, like a frosting served without a cake.
At one point, one of the side character astronaut literally says "can I remove my space helmet, is it safe" when literally in front of him two people opened their helmets seemingly fine and what kind of writing that makes astronaut so stupid that he doesn't even know if it is safe to remove his helmet or not.

I cannot watch a show that makes blunders after blunders, and think everyone will be ok with it because the characters belong to A list actors.

Anyone in replies will try to oppose me or criticize me go ahead. I cannot stop you, but I stand true to my review.

Underrated

At first I thought I would be watching three women who will complain with their drinks and I simply didn't want to watch such one dimensional characters. But when I gave this drama a try, I made the best decision.

The three FLs have so much depth to them than they let on in the first few episodes. Their friendship doesn't feel like drama but it feels real, and their behaviour is so authentic when they argue and more than that the female actors have acted so good in their roles.

One factor that might bother few people in this drama is that FLs drink a lot. Yes a lot, but I won't count that as a bad writing here. The show is all about three woman who love drinking. The best thing about it is the FLs don't drink because they have some sad past, they drink because they simply love to drink.

The drama had few heavy topics like death, lgbqt issues which were handled with perfectionism.

Overall I never thought a web series would be this good. I am badly waiting for season 2.
