It's cuz they keep adding a killer plot in the middle of it all. I don't know why they couldn't just stay with…
It doesn't drag because of the father plot. Excellent scenes with conflict. It drags because of a slow montage scene of 7 minutes with a song, for example.
can someone explain to me why ranjoo and that abusive manager are together, he wasn't there when he needed her,…
They know each other since more than 15 years. Producer and Diva. They made their own company and were lovers. See how intimates they are. At one point (we don't know when), they break up about love relationship.
A previous episode, she was ready to go back to him, almost kissing him. But he betrays her about the records sales. Now she doesn't want the records sales anymore, and see: He want to go back with her (just, she doesn't want it now).
If you just say this man is abusive, you have half of the story. She's also an abusive diva. And he's an excellent producer, doesn't make decisions out of nothing. They are an old couple, so anyway, know each other well, and can't spare so easely.
The lake (or pond), said in a flashback ep8. A family disappeared 20 years ago. Ki Ho family took their names.…
I'll just watch the drama to the end. Then, think about that. But it's not really the kind of thing I criticize, and not at this point of the story. I start first to understand the writer choices.
Just an example, after Ki Ho plan fails (because his father is clever and guess it's a trap), we have a scene with face to face shots, when in real, the two characters are not in the same time. And this scene is very powerful. So, I keep that because it's what has to most impact on screen, and consider the screenwriter did something better than anything I could imagine.
Now, I can't answer more to you. This thread is for everyone to give their opinion. So, keep giving yours, but I have nothing more to say, as you focus on points that are irrevelants to me, without knowing what's coming next in the drama.
PS: as a joke full of irony: I was thinking the old woman was Ran Joo inner voice. But ok, I take easely it's a real person, Ran Joo mother, but what's great, thinking she's Ran Joo (because brain disease).

This makes no sens. For weeks, a few people are angry, saying Ki Ho mystery "who's who" is painful. (what I don't agree). And now you say when it's not a mystery, it's also painful. Or anti-climatic or I don't know what. First it wasn't really a mystery. As soon as we see this pond, we have the feeling there are corpses into it. And a voice-over even talk about "lies that could destroy the family".
Ki Ho makes smart choices: he uses the two guys from the resto on the island. Because he knows they are snitchers.…
But the dad already knows he follows the right person. He even says it to Mok Ha! The dad is sure that Mok Ha is in contact with Ki Ho. So Ki Ho have to find at least something saying he's far away from her.
Episode 8 was the first episode of the series to sorta let-me-down. It felt slow and fill-ery. I don't like how…

Ki Ho makes smart choices: he uses the two guys from the resto on the island. Because he knows they are snitchers. So, his plan was to feed them with fake info, knowing they would say it to his father. And he even asked them "don't say it to my father", knowing they would do.
He definitely also acts with eyes/facial expressions more than some other actors I could name, but I think he'd…
Until ep8, I'm sure the script says: stares intensely to avoid melting down, expressioneless but burning inside, feels but have to hide it, insistant glare but beating heart, can't show his emotion but on the verge of it, etc etc... LOL.
Finally I find again motivation, and from 9+ episodes, it's better. Guys, it's the first drama I drop twice and still enjoy to continue watching.
The problem with some comedy scenes in this drama, they are too much out-of-context, and they put me out of the story. And also, it's 50-50 about they are funny or just loud-painful.
But now, the drama use them less and rely on a comedy better in-context. The story is caricatural but I think it's on purpose, it's trashy, with parody walking in slow-motion.
I find this guy funny (even he does crazy stupid things), the secret service agent: https://mydramalist.com/people/19942-im-chul-soo When I think he's Teacher Lee in Alchemy of Soul, the change of role is WTF.
