I still don't understand the concept of Wigen (The old woman)...Like is she Ranjoo herself or someone else? But…
In a previous episode (ep2?), Seo Joon office argument scene with Ran Joo and Mok Ha. He says for a Diva, age should be multiplied by 2. (to refer that Mok Ha is too old to start a career, it's like she would be 62). Then Ran Joo should be what? 80? I think the old woman is the way Ran Joo sees herself when she daydreams and speaks to herself.
The way I see it, Woohakβs loss of memories and thereby his loss of identity and sense of self has played a…
Yes, it's a parallel with the scene when they finds Mok Ha on the island. By the way, you even have a flashback in the episode (adding the fact Bo Geol smiles). And here just before, an Imagination scene of what Ki Ho would have liked for this moment. (be the one giving the hug).
Episode 7 was particularly good, and accelerate the story (thanks to last scene of ep6 "stop the lies"). I wasn't sure last week, but now the drama should be ok for 12 episodes.
I can still see Woo Young Woo in her acting in this drama. I donβt know if thats ok or bad. And I think the…
In the absolute, it's good acting. I like a lot lot lot what she does. An every moment pleasure. But it's also the first drama I watch with her (or maybe Stove League but I don't remember her). It's why I say "in the absolute", because I don't have any other drama to compare.
π There's no moderation so Trolls are permitted to run amok. I like to poke fun of them and treat them like…
First, I'm happy that moderation is light and there is not much censorship here. Second, it's not fair to call people Trolls when they just give their opinion.
I like this drama, so it doesn't matter what people say. Maybe I can help and answer what they believe can be wrong, by analyzing better the drama. But as they are disappointed, they are already suffering the most, so I don't feel like punish them twice.
Funny thing is: - We could guess who is Ki-ho from episode 2. - Then we get more and more clues that confirm it's the guy we guess. - The writer confirms officially who is Ki-Ho episode 6 and it's the guy we guessed. - But people continue to ask "Who is Ki-Ho?" πππ
IMHO this show is quite different than the show called still 17. She was in a coma for 17 years that's a whole…
Well, it depends a lot on people. What is scary too is you have the full responsability of everything about your own survival. If you make a mistake and get hurt for example, no doctor will come to help. Ditto with food, water, etc. This fear should diminishes after conditions of survival become regular routine. But not the concern about getting a disease.
One of the first point I noticed was that: so little time on the island, and no hard time on it. Then, the drama…
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad I could share a human experience, and find out I'm not alone with this way to consider fictional content.
6 years ago, I started a project much bigger than anything I'd done before: writing a kdrama script! As I wanted to get the feeling to watch it on TV, I also started to learn screenwriting. My style was already close to that, it was natural.
During this 6 years, my perspective about dramas changed a lot. I could be behind the scene, read kdrama screenplays (translated with google) and understand how much difficult it is to make. In a so competitive world than korean system (much more than western one), only the best of the best writers have a chance to be produced.
I don't like plot-holes and have a high logic. But by creating a complex story, I was amazed at how easely plot-holes come in, in a way the author don't detect! And I could make observations on many other subjects about storytelling. The uncertainty of thousands of decisions to be made for a mountain of content. I became much more tolerant for the content we watch and the korean screenwriters working hard.
I ask myself this question: do ultra-critical people have an unfulfilled creative desire? Listing a series of flaws is often like saying "hey, I could have done better". That wasn't my motivation when I started my kdrama. But the effect has been the same: I've found that doing better turns out to be extremely difficult. Achieving just a convincing result is challenging enough.

Thinking about that, if I would be in such a situation, I wouldn't be scared by loneliness but by the unknow: will I be rescued one day or will I spend my whole life in this island.
surprised by quite lot of negativity in the comments, while the rating is so high... odd
Not that much negative. It's just a bit of nitpick about some details. It's legitimate people ask questions about what they watch. But I hope they don't destroy their own happyness, because it's a damn well written drama, providing a lot of emotions and optimism.
This isn't a bad show or anything, but I don't really know where it's trying to go with this story. The FL just…
Your point about escapism is credible. Maybe there is a part of it. However, the drama show us the deepness of the situation. First time Mok Ha sees Ran Joo, she's a child. I don't remember what age (let's rewatch the flashback scene). It's when Ran Joo is high-school girl singing for the chorale. So, I think the dominant part is really a desire to be a diva for the love of beautiful singing, and the first singer she saw and hear and amaze her.
I noted my observation while watching (yeah, it's a LIVE stuff, alive and a bit chaotic):

Anyway, I couldn't see the story be otherwise now.
EDIT: after reading your blog, I'll post later on it about one of your idea.
