I think YD purposefully held back her skill so her sister could shine. Her sister knew that she was not the strong one from their youth. YD is effortless when she learns something new. YY recognized her strength and knew she would not learn in a conventional way. Hence the copying of all the manuscripts. He's sneakily teaching her. ♥

I don't think he meant to propose to her that day. The "ladies" made up his mind. So in front of all of them (left them fainting in the other room.) he declared his love and his vow to only marry her in this life. ♥

Yah I saw it in someones translation of novel after I wrote this. Interesting. It looks really heart breaking.♥

The parent arranged marriages are the worst. Especially with the princesses done for allegiance with other tribes, clans, for business purposes, political purposes. Still happens today. So it could be worse for CSS they could have married her off to some brute. At least so far she is choosing her own marriages to some degree. ♥

Also in the clips if you notice there are killing scenes. LBY goes on a killing spree. CSS is witness to it. The Emperor is not happy and sends him away to the border. Strips him of all his privileges. Hence LBY ends the engagement. She want to follow him but he won't allow it. 5 yrs passes and he has not returned so another arrange marriage with YS is created. However he does come back before they are married and snatches her away. ♥

I think he didn't intend to propose to her until "the ladies" went after her. Once he proposed the princesses were fainting all over the place. hahahahaha. Everywhere she goes she is prosecuted. He had enough. So he put his proposal forward so everyone could hear. He had real compassion when her Mother was running her down. She is young but her unusual personality drew him to her. It's funny though as I've seen other cultures depicted in Chinese drama costumes before. Plains people look similar to native american culture. Some of the embroidery is similar to Eastern Europe and Russia. I believe that cultures did cross styles all the time. China wants to think they are an island in Asian culture. Not so. The whole Asian culture especially Korea, Japan, Thailand all of them have similar cultures and ideals. I think at some point in the past they were one and got divided by wars and territorial skirmishes. Even architecture is similar. The erased history. Government control. How to hate the outside world? The sad thing is we are all human and only want to live in peace and prosperity. World wide not just one country. Peace♥

Yes I don't know why this is important. Just historically I think China wants it's culture to be pure Chinese. Just hate on Japan. Actors cancelled for visiting locations in Japan, costumes cancelled for Japanese styling. I've noticed many costumes that could be bleed ins from other cultures. Plains people some of their costumes like North American Indian. Some of their embroidered styles like Eastern European and Russian styles. The list goes on. I think there are some very racist people running China. Too bad. I find the Chinese people warm, lovable and just like all the rest of the world they want to survive and thrive. Peace♥

In China all things Japanese are frowned upon. Some of the costume stylist did Japanese styling on some of the costumes in Queen Lau drama and there was a big up roar about this. (Japan invaded China so Chinese are against Japan.) Apparently there were a few costume tweeks in LLTTG too so they now have to go back and airbrush them out and fix as much as they can so as not come under the censorship for Japan like costumes.

Happy ending but much turmoil to get there. ♥

The first 5 episodes are back ground it gets better from there. You will laugh, cry and feel hate and injustice. I think it's well done. ♥
