Whether it is admiration... Whether it is devotion... Or simply pure puppy love... We all have experienced those feelings while growing up. I sure did, myself. What is the probability, the chance of experiencing an adolescent crush “Coup de foudres” as we call it where I am from… Developing into a mature and stable attraction, years later? And more wonderful… Having this mature love being reciprocated back… What are the chances? Fictional or non-fictional = ZERO
That is why I think this is a very relatable storyline.
well said , I was actually a fan of LLTG couple based on chemistry too , but until Hidden Love.... I can't help…
Sometimes, the production houses forget that the OSTs basically play 15% in the success of any cinematography production. Luckily, “Hidden Love” remembered that part.

The scenes… intimate and non-intimate literally gave me butterflies in my stomach. And I can admit that I am very cynical… So that is a very difficult thing to achieve with me.
Have you watched Love Like the Galaxy, Zhao Lu Si's drama last year? It's the same actress who played her mum…
One of the strangest motherly loves that I have watched. There were many instances during “Love Like the Galaxy” when I asked myself if they were really biologically related?🤔
I fully enjoyed every single episode. And I cried in almost every one of them. Well directed and well produced coming-of-age drama. Very very very very well acted. Zhao Lu Si and Chen Zhe Yuan’s chemistry and dynamic were… To put them simply… Unreal… This drama has basically wow me.
I started this with no expectations whatsoever… Even a bit skeptical… Even a bit biased… Because I didn’t think anything could beat her chemistry with Leo Wu from “Love Like the Galaxy.” What I actually got is something very special.
I have to admit Zhao Lu Si and Chen Zhe Yuan simply nailed their characters. Their dynamic and their chemistry are so fluid… Basically effortless… I was a bit skeptical about watching one more coming-of-age Chinese drama; however, darned!!! Those initial 10 episodes that I have already watched… They are well made and well acted. Kudos!!! The last similar coming-of-age concept drama that I have enjoyed that much was “A Little Thing Called First Love.”
I also don’t think that it is a bad request. Yang Yang is a veteran and a seasoned actor when compared to this actress. Just based on his portfolio, acting skills and experiences… Absolutely not based on his gender… His name should be first. It is more of a matter of acknowledgement more than anything else.
As for the actress who is playing the FL in this modern drama… I am currently watching her in “The Longest Promise (2023)” as a support character. Although pretty, she has some work to do in terms of acting skills.
I don’t care at all about the somehow love interest aka, “That girl…” Very very very low budget production. However, the ML is very interesting. Storyline… Not bad, at all. The ML character, Qin Chen reminds me very much of the Ning Que’s character from “Ever Night” season 1. He just doesn’t give a rat-ass about anyone… Whether you are a king, a CP or a darned noble. My type of first ML character.
I really don’t give a darn about the side story with the FL’s 2 sketchy childhood friends and that actress. Besides that bizarre side story between the 3 of them… Pretty good drama. Best portrayal/character performance that I have seen from William in a modern drama.

She has become more subjective than objective lately.
Given when it comes to cinematography... It is difficult not to be subjective.
Luckily, “Hidden Love” remembered that part.
In Hidden Love’s universe, she is the greatest mother.
🤣🤣🤣

Sorry Leo… But I have to tell the truth.
That was special.

If you have not already.
Great plot, great cast and no cliché love angle.
Sometimes, a great plot has no need for the cliché love angle.
I dropped that one.
Yes, there is a number of recognizable wigs in the Chinese film industry.
And a spot on the casting list.
🤣🤣🤣
I wonder if his character is going to die down the line…
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Now, Part 2 please.
Without the weird love interest, aka “That weird girl.”
Also, with a bigger production budget.
Very very very low budget production.
However, the ML is very interesting.

It was a pretty story but a very boring drama.
A downright advertisement of what a non-civilian good wife should be.
