Surprisingly, I fully enjoyed this Xianxia. And I am not even very fond of the leading cast. I have never read the referenced material; however, it didn’t matter. I believe that the production did a good job with the storyline. I am very happy that I didn’t drop it, after all.
Best performances that I have watched from both Neo Hou and Zhou Ye.
Ok, I am just about to be done with this lamo drama… FL is confusing as HELL! I just don’t understand her purpose. Her family got framed… OBVIOUSLY. Her family name got smeared. They ended losing their livelihood. Her father went to jail… Died as a consequence. She lost her parental rights. She was abandoned by her gold-digger husband. She ended up in jails for 4 years. She came out as gullible as a new born.
We have excellent revenge dramas like, “Money Flower,” “Secret Love,” “Adonis: Yellow Boots” and even a most current one like… “Lighter and Princess” You would think that the screenwriter or screenwriters would have enough referenced materials to write a good revenge drama… But NOOOOOOO… They came up with “To be a Brave One.”
PS: Loved Darren in previous projects but in this one… I am perplexed by the reason why he agreed to be part of this.
A bit disappointed in the FL by proposing to find the disposed heir in order to fix her dead father’s debts. I loved her child version character right away from the first episode but now… I am very confused by her adult character.
This drama might be a drop for me. She already turned me off.
I admit it. I was quite biased and recalcitrant before starting this drama. A K-pop/fantasy concept sounded very ridiculous to me. This is as farfetched as a fictional storyline can possibly go… However, it is surprisingly interesting.
I very much enjoyed Kim Min Gue’s performance in “Queen: Love And War.” And I am also really impressed by his performance in this drama. It must have been mighty difficult to pull off a K-pop/deity/divine priest character in a fantasy drama. Go Bo Gyeol is also pleasantly pulling her weight. Kudos to the 2 main leads.
I really didn’t get that part either. So God… The Great Creator of All… Cursed him and his beloved because he didn’t want to move on without the woman he loved. 🤔🤔🤔🤨🤨🤨
I would have thought that God would have seen it as dedication, loyalty and genuine love. I am sorry but God came out as an egocentric major spoiled a$$ from the get go.
16 episodes are way too long. 8 or 10 episodes would have been better. After 8 episodes, it has become pure torture to watch the rest. I am watching this simply because I liked the leading cast, Kim Jung Hyun and Im Soo Hyang from prior projects. The messy montage, storyline, production, the over-acting and the 2 main leads’ complete lack of chemistry are just a hot mess. This drama desperately needs the Hong sisters or Kim Eun Sook for some sort of rescue.
I understand that the production was aiming for “FUNNY...” But this is certainly not FUNNY.
And the 2023 “Nonsensical” drama award goes to…🥁🥁🥁🥁 This drama🎭🎉🎊
I am fairly certain that the screenwriter and the director were on drugs. Too bad, I really really enjoyed Kim Jung Hyun in “Mr. Queen” and Im Soo Hyang in “Graceful Family.”
There is a reason why we love… These mystery/crime/comedy dramas: - Healer - 38 Task Force - Taxi Driver - Mad Dog - Player - Bad Guys - Leverage - Bad Thief, Good Thief They all have matured characters. And the male leads are stoic and they have a very commanding/leader-like mannerism. The writers went ridiculously too dorky with “Stealer: The Treasure Keeper.” I would have gladly placed it on that above list… If only it was slightly less ludicrous.
A pretty story with a complete lack of excitement. If “You Are My Glory” and “You Are My Hero” were the first legitimated borns… “Road Home” is the forgotten cousin, twice removed that no one in the family ever mentioned.

They gave Ning Que a Dissociative identity disorder (DID) 🤣🤣🤣. He had one distinctive persona in season…
I am respectfully disagreeing with your comments. That entire travesty of a season 2 was a mistake. That includes the production and the recast. Would Arthur have made a better, mature and sensitive Ning Que…? We will never know. One thing for certain, Dylan was not right for the role. Not back then!
Hmmmmmmm 🤔… I am not sure about these initial 6 episodes. I loved the fighting scenes. The CGIs were not half bad. I pretty much love any character that Kim Nam Gil portrays… That is a given. However, the rest of the storyline felt like; it was created/written for the younger demographic. Flashy and intrusive. Based on the production level, it could have come close to “The Guest” but so far… It is barely reaching its echelon.
Just have to wait and see what the next 6 episodes will bring.
his personality is indeed kinda annoying. but hes good looking so people dont perceive him to be that annoying.…
Exactly my thoughts. I feel that… As a priest… An exorcist priest, at that… He should have known better than provoking Van. Investigating Van’s background story, provoking the demon part inside of him and acting like a little punk every time he has a chance… Are completely different things. Also, the whole punk-urban-K-pop exorcist priest doesn’t incite me as believable. His character is more funny to me than an expert Constantine.

It makes sense now…
Indefinitely!
