Ok… Let’s get this straight. This Xianxia deserves a much higher rating. Compared to the more expensive productions with the obvious popular fandom based actors and actresses that are released this year… This underrated one is kicking a$$.
I have to disagree. I was not a fan of MTY before watching this. I just started watching this because I like Angela…
Unbelievably… I actually agree with you on certain points. I love the protagonist leading couple because both are not the typical sacro-righteous characters. For me, showing all of their flaws without any shame nor justification is rather refreshing. Multi-layered characters have more depths. What I didn’t like… The initial episodes where Ma Tian Yu is playing the ever so playful Ji Ruo Chen. Unfortunately, Ma Tian Yu is known for his rigid, almost lifeless performances so those initial episodes felt very unnatural to me. Fortunately, his character showed some fast character development and growth after the initial episodes so the unnatural feel didn’t last long. As for Angelababy and her FL character… I absolutely have no complaint about the performance. I am actually happy to see her venturing outside of her usual comfort roles. She has been nailing that role since episode 1. I am very proud of her.
Seriously… Exactly, what the casting department was thinking during their cast selection? They most definitely selected the wrong actor to play the ML. Ma Tian Yu is way too stiff to play playful, joyful and ridiculous characters. His portrayal of Ji Ruo Chen comes out so unbelievably not natural. And it doesn’t help that the ML’s initial introduction is a bottom-scum-of-the-earth…
What the hell happened to this drama? Every one of the writers, producers, directors went on strike? Including all of the great seasoned actors? And left a band of toddlers in charge of the production…
Not sure I've ever been so conflicted after watching 1 episode of a drama. There are things about episode 1 I…
Not really a fan of the first ML nor of the second ML… Except for “Word of Honor” the first ML always looks placid to me and the second ML always looks like a snake to me. No matter the character he plays. For me, D. literally stole the show so far. I am very much intrigued by her character. Hopefully, the storyline doesn’t sink down the line.
The sub is so bad. Can’t understand a thing but I love Reba characters. She so flirty and spunky.
So bad. We need professor Robert Langdon just to decipher those subs. But D. did a superb job in that very first episode. I can let the subs fly for that.
Is it wrong for me to feel that the drama had ML's father die just on time? 😅
His mistake and cowardice turned the ML’s life into pure hell… Pure misery… On top of that, also lost his mother from cancer because she didn’t have the funds for treatments.
No disrespect but that father should have died from his cowardice suicidal attempt long ago. So, not soon enough.
This drama is like the treat to my eyes...sweet and heartwarming. Feeling of being fulfilled our first love is…
As I stated below already… “Whether it is admiration... Whether it is devotion... Or simply pure puppy love... We all have experienced those feelings while growing up. I sure did, myself. What is the probability, the chance of experiencing an adolescent crush “Coup de foudres” as we call it where I am from… Developing into a mature and stable attraction, years later? And more wonderful… Having this mature love being reciprocated back… What are the chances? Fictional or non-fictional = ZERO
That is why I think this is a very relatable storyline.”
Best Chinese romance drama of 2017 - “General and I”Best Chinese romance drama of 2021 - “One and Only “Best…
I love “Love Like the Galaxy.” I have watched my boy, Leo, grew up from him screaming “Water Buffalo” into this Adonis statue of a young man saying “Don’t be scare; I am here…” I will always be rooting for my boy. No matter what. However, in terms of chemistry, dynamic and genuine intimacy…. “Hidden Love” wins it for me.
That is why I excluded “Love Like the Galaxy” from that list.
I don’t mean to be rude or this shouldn’t come across as being rude or offensive to anyone, but I just want…

I am a born cynic; there is absolutely not much that can make my heart skip a bit. These 3 Chinese dramas did.
But Eagle was bad.
Let’s get this straight.
This Xianxia deserves a much higher rating.

All of the least promoted Chinese dramas with the lowest production budgets happen to be the best ones.

And that is your opinion not mine.
You are welcome to spread it however you want.

What the heck were they thinking?
I very much like XuXu’s hairstyle and some of his outfits.
Besides those…. The rest is just crap.
If you are a fan of XuXu…
You literally watch this for him.
And even with that… It is a stretch.
Every one of the writers, producers, directors went on strike?
Including all of the great seasoned actors?

I will try to look for it once I have a chance.

Outgoing without being annoying.
The type of FLs that I like.
I want to see more.
I am definitely intrigued!
I dropped this a month ago.
Completely not interesting to me.
I am sorry; I am trying really hard to continue watching this simply because of XuXu…
But good gracious! It is hard.
On top of that, also lost his mother from cancer because she didn’t have the funds for treatments.

They don’t have to be in the same scene.
And we still can feel their chemistry.
