Real truth here. I have been following and watching this Donghua for a long while now and there are a lot of those versions… A lot… AND SO MANY EPISODES… This live action was excellent. One of Yang Yang’s many best.
The rating should be higher than 8.4 The rating is not doing it any justice. It should be 8.8 or higher.
Please next part, please. Meanwhile, I am back on the Donghua.
3 episodes in…And I am not sure about this production either.FL is not likable. She has the arrogance of a silver-spoon—entitled…
And your point is? Her character is still arrogant and entitled, just like before the 3 years… before the murders. His character is acting more like a martyr without any concrete evidence to prove his innocence. Neither of their characters is doing it for me.
I love a good Demon Hubter storyline. For example, “The Demon Hunter's Romance” hit all the right notes for me. This one, on the other hand… I am not so sure. Started it because of XuXu, might drop it because of the FL character. I think because I do not like cats (Totally not a cat person); her constant coquetry irritates me. Wish she were anything else but a cat.
3 episodes in… And I am not sure about this production either. FL is not likable. She has the arrogance of a silver-spoon—entitled female character, completely blinded by hatred. ML shows up 3 years later with practically no evidence to prove his innocence. Basically, playing the martyr character. I am calling him the “O.J. Simpson’s glove character.”
Well said. I came for a similar vibe, to “General and I” - 2 well-balanced main characters - 2 equally great main leads - 2 convincing leading characters What I actually got - A female lead who thinks she is the best thing that has ever happened to the gods - I simply could not be convinced by her character; nor by her leadership as a general or her romantic presence in the scenes - The male lead started as a vindictive tiger but by episode 30, he turned into an unrealistic defenseless kitten who agrees with the female lead’s every word - The second lead actor had more scenes than the first lead actor - The second lead actor was smarter than everyone; even though, the female lead thought she was the smartest creation in the universe
Everything was too easy Everything was too Hollywood It was a well-packaged-unconvincing production.
Well, I am happy that I waited an entire year before watching this second season. It really did not surpass or come close to the first season. Yes, I am disappointed. Please, no more seasons. No need for a third season. Leave that for “Taxi Driver,” “38 Squad,” “Black Knight,” “Vigilante,” and “Signal.”
Ughhh, Song Yimeng's character is def so frustrating and I lowkey like her sister Song Yiting more because she…
Not for me. It felt like too little too late. Both with the FL and with the ML’s emperor/father. They were unlikable for so long that unfortunately, I was not able to be convinced by their change of characters.

Could not finish it
No substance.
Only skin deep.
See you at the next one.
I am currently watching “ When Destiny Brings the Demon - Long for Fish.”
Can’t wait to read your review.
Exactly my point; for 3 whole years and these were his only clues?
Some genius detective….🤨
I went in completely blind; assuming that what it was😅

Truly skin deep.
Even the romantic scenes were dull.
You are going to need a lot… lot… lot… lot… of perseverance to finish it.
It might be your kind of thing.

Yep, Arthur can do that to us.
I do not trust him…
He certainly will bring big trouble to his original master.
Yes.
But they have zero chemistry.
But there is absolutely no chemistry between the main couple.

Second episode - Then, I was mildly intrigued
Third and fourth episodes - Now, I am vaguely intrigued
PS: I will give it 2 more episodes before I lose all interest.
