Man, that was rough. I did not quite understand where they were going with the convoluted plots. Was it a satire about all the ridiculous clichés that the screenwriters and directors, these days, tend to force down our throats? Was it a fresh look on a quasi-new concept about transmigrated modern characters in ancient storylines? Who knows… The only thing I know… It was a hot mess. I surely appreciate that Liu Yu Ning tried his best with the miserable character he had to portray.
Fyi: For me, the FL’s sister character was more modern than the actual FL. Her way of thinking and viewing the world was more avant-garde and less narrow-minded than the FL. I wish that she were in FL.
Finally, finally done. That was 40 episodes of pure hot mess. “A Dream within a Dream” is more like “A Hot Mess Within a Hot Mess” or more like, someone else has perfectly pointed out… “Everyone Hates Nan Heng.” Wow!
I do appreciate the on-your-face satire behind the production. It was about time that they showcased the complete absurdities of those nonsensical and convoluted storylines/twisted plots that those screenwriters/scriptwriters/directors (Who are undoubtedly on some strong narcotics…) are being put out every single year. For that… I thank them!

Really? She was not? I think after episode 18 or 19, I started fast-forwarding her every time she came into the scene… without the ML. For me, she was one of the most irritating FL characters that I have watched. I have a few of them on a list; her character definitely made that list.

PS: The FL is not working for me. Li Yi Tong can not do comedy. Her character feels very awkward. A better choice for that role (If she could speak Chinese) is the Korean actress, Shin Hye Sun. She would have made that character her personal b…ch.

I am only in episode 5 and I am already having a hard time liking her character. Her jokes are simply not funny. Not sure if it is the actress or her writing that is not working.
I dropped it at at ep 24 but I should have dropped it sooner. Like at the cliff scene. I honestly didn’t care…
I feel you. I watched up to episode 24 only for Liu Xue Yi. Then I skipped it to later episodes just so I could see how that ridiculous obsessive/mentally impaired prince got what he deserved. Well, I have to say… Even his death was absurd and useless. After that, I simply dropped it.
Not even Liu Xue Yi’s remarkable acting skills could save that idiotic production.
FYI: Why the hell did they use the same actor for 2 different characters? That was stupidly confusing.
