I was impressed with the first 2 episodes so I waited until now to finish this drama. Bummer... This drama turned out to be a complete joke and hardly funny. - The ML, even though we all know that he has feelings for the FL, acts like a total blockhead with the added “I don’t know what’s happening... look on his face.” - The FL, very straightforward at the beginning, started to annoy me more and more as the episodes progress.
*Unfortunately, this is a drop for me. I can’t understand why the rating for this drama is so high... I like the FL,Tang Min, more in Chef Hua.
If I did not see The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, I would have probably rated this drama a lot higher. Unfortunately, I did watch The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion; therefore, Awaken felt just so-so to me. One thing for certain, I really disliked every female character from this drama. Coincidentally, the actress who played the deranged scientist/mother did a really good job with her role. Her character really gave me the creeps. As for Namkoong Min, his character Do Jung-Woo, reminded me of some police characters that Jang Hyuk had previously portrayed.
Today is a great day for me. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Madame Vice-President Kamala Harris went through their inauguration... And I got news that K has finally debuted in Japan under BIGHIT umbrella. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
After reading most of the original novel, I expect the worst from the televised drama so I don’t get disappointed.…
IKR! But with the popularity of the 2 main leads and the immense interest of the audience, domestic and overseas, for the original novel... There is no way that those straight men from the Chinese censorship bureau can not know about the background story and the respective characters.
Ok. So this drama officially finished filming in the late september of 2020, and most actors are still in finishing…
I concur. As long, it does not take 3 years before they release it and they restrain themselves from systematic and dramatic changes within the storyline because of certain actors’ increasing popularity, like what happened with The Wolf... I can wait for the finished product.
*That said; they should give us a damn trailer already!
Even though it has been years now; it would be nice to see “Pink milk monster” with his adorable tantrums, once again. But I guess, we have a better chance to see a remake of “Addicted” in a Thai version.
I ventured into this drama without expecting much, at all. But man, I was pleasantly surprised to see my favorite…
Not that I am complaining... But can inspector M actually breathe in these extremely tight and fitted uniforms? Every time he appears in a scene; I am waiting for him “to bust a move” like a proper Chippendales dancer... I am ready to make it rain for him...
Hahaha:) Funny, I watch and enjoy BL dramas as well. SOTUS 1 and 2 have always been my all time favorite BL series. I am still waiting for SOTUS 3, with the same cast... I am a dreamer. Lol
I ventured into this drama without expecting much, at all. But man, I was pleasantly surprised to see my favorite couple from Together With Me.
I am very much enjoying the fact... That it is a thriller; instead of, the usual overused melodramatic BL concepts - High school to University. It reminds me of HIStory3: Trapped (2019).
I love this drama so much but I can’t believe she kissed him in ep 4!!! She like him so fast!
From a stereotypical traditional Korean point of view... The female lead character was an avant-garde character. Not your typical-squeamish-Asian-female-character... types...
I loved it. Their excessive levels of prudeness can be annoying.
Yep... 2021 and I still love this drama, Queen In-hyun's Man. One of the best romantic performances by Ji Hyun-woo and Yoo In-na. Then again, they were dating each other back then... it could explain why their chemistry and synergy were so in-sync.
*Side Note: That original 2012 Korean version far-surpassed the 2015 Chinese version, Love Through a Millennium.
The Korean version far surpassed this Chinese version. First, 12 or 24 episodes are way too long for the storyline. By episode 9, aside that they decided to use the worst voice double ever on the female lead... Instead of seeing the female lead in a more likable way as the storyline progressed; her character became more and more babyish, childish, annoying and self-absorbed. Second, although handsome and somehow believable as an actor; this Chinese version of the male lead is not as mysterious, capable, intelligent and époustouflant in the department of Martial Art fighting skills... Compared to the Korean counterpart.
*After watching this, I have to rewatch the Korean version one, once more - Queen and I aka, Queen In Hyun's Man... Just to make sure that it was not as average as this Chinese version.
Yes he is so manly, the actor more manly i've seen in Cdrama. The sexiest wolf of century's 21.
This is how I do my evaluation and I try to be as objective, as much as I can.
Darren Wang and a truckload of other young actors could have easily played the XZ’s character in The Wolf. However, there is not an universe where XZ could have played or mastered that Darren’s complexed character in The Wolf.
As for Chinese beauty standards... Or even further, Asian beauty standards... They are incredibly unrealistic and unnatural. Hence, Chang Chen, Chen Kun, Wallace Chung, Zhou Yi Wei and Darren Wang... I very much appreciate their natural and their every-day-normal-human looks. Hahaha:)

Right now, in the Asian film industry, there is a surplus of fair pearly skinned flower-boy actors who somewhat are capable at memorizing a script.
Although he is part of that same age group, Darren Wang certainly showed us that he can do a lot more than just memorizing lines... It is very interesting to see a young actor like him, capable of exuding such manliness, virility and robustness on cameras... As if he was already part of that selective group of actors... Such as, Chang Chen, Chen Kun, Wallace Chung and Zhou Yi Wei.

I keep on telling myself that I have to wait for the whole series to be over but it is so hard to wait!

No pretty fair skinned flower-boy here.
Zhou Yi Wei is all MAN!!!
Lol
I listed them with a cold glass of ice water in my hand!!!
I might also need a cold shower, as well...
