I'm on ep 13 of this mini-drama and, while I find it to be a lot more entertaining in many ways than I expected…
Finished! Okay so overall it was cute! An entertaining little drama to pass the time. Nothing deep or crazy. Just entertaining. Loved the bromance too!
I'm on ep 13 of this mini-drama and, while I find it to be a lot more entertaining in many ways than I expected going in, there's a major flaw in the storyline that I just can't seem to ignore. I actually agree with the main antagonist (to an extent) in that the FL should NOT be CEO.
A CEO that is so irresponsible to the employees of her company that she'd protect and allow someone that, more than once, has been proven to be harming the company, and even allowing him to not only to go unpunished but completely unaddressed all because of some (potential and unverified) personal history, should be fired and replaced. Just saying.
Now, should the antagonist be the CEO. HELL NO! He's even worse! To steal the company he's the man behind the guy the FL is protecting like a fool! To discredit her and steal her position he's willing to risk the future of the company. Total hypocrite.
Otherwise though this is a pretty good little series! It has had me cracking up a lot and has been a pretty fun watch so far. Almost done now...
Wow! I'm pretty shocked by how much I actually ended up enjoying this!
It was far better than expected even after reading some of the comments on here. Not that I expected it to be BAD. Many people gush about it so I definitely did want to check it out but, I guess mainly because of the second review above, I'd prepared myself for some disappointment along the way. Instead I was hooked from beginning to end and actually enjoyed the second mortal trial/lifetime story as much as the first. The final trial surprised the heck out of me too, if I'm being honest. I haven't watched many Wuxia dramas so maybe I'm not used to the type of spins and twists they include in their stories and didn't see that one coming at all.
Oh and since many people seem to have given up on the drama early on due to the FL's extremely annoying behavior, I want to point out that lasts only as long as they are in the immortal world in the very beginning. Once they enter the mortal world that's over and done with. Believe me when I say I was relieved.
I'm seriously glad I watched this. For me it was a really, really good watch. Definitely worth my time.
I'm glad they haven't gone from her being angry at him for the rejection to being in love again. But yes, hopefully…
Ohhhhh! Very interesting. I'm definitely looking forward to watching this one now. Gotta wait until it finishes airing before I get started since I'm a die hard binge watcher (it would drive me nuts having to wait for each new episode to be released).
I hope you guys all enjoy it in the meantime though!!!
I'm glad they haven't gone from her being angry at him for the rejection to being in love again. But yes, hopefully…
I'm just now coming across this drama and wanted to ask what episode are you guys on that you're referring to here? Episode 16?
If you're willing to share spoilers could you tell me when he figures out she's the gaming girl he's had a crush on all along? Just want to know if they drag that out for very long.
"Mature" is a fancy word people use to excuse their sinful, guilty pleasures. We could call eating a whole pizza…
I wasn't aware that whole literal meanings of words are now being used in such subjective manners to misinterpret and skew what people say. At least not at the level you've taken it too. You are literally pulling examples out of thin air to attempt to make a point and calling that an argument for justification of what you believe. You are making wild and sweeping generalizations to skew my words. On what planet did anything I said infer that MY definition of "mature" would be anything different from its literal meaning? It's very clear from my original comment what I mean "mature". I don't need you to add your very unrealistic, ugly and subjective interpretations to try to skew my words or intent. You may think you sound extremely intelligent here but you're really showing your true level of immaturity and honestly a lack of education based on the way you make your arguments.
Anyway, I have no intention of going back and forth with someone like yourself. Such people are truly a waste of my time.
after reading so many comments i can't make a decision whether to watch it or not can anyone tell me the details…
It's a great drama. It's actually a typical romcom. The difference is that it's geared towards a very mature audience. It's not explicit in a raunchy, gaudy way. It's just MATURE. If that's not your cup of tea then definitely avoid it. Otherwise though, don't let the comments turn you off. It's a fun and cute drama. Nothing ugly is brought into it either - no cheating or any of that. The leads are in their 30s so it address concerns people have in real life, when it comes to dating.
Just watched this again and loved it. This drama is for mature adults. It's not intended for teens in any way shape or form. I say that not because of the pretty explicit nature included in some portions of the drama but because teens simply lack both the life experience and maturity to truly grasp the content. The messages will go straight over their heads. Most of the extremely healthy messages expressed throughout are simply too far beyond what even most mid-twenty adults can comprehend. However, the older, more experienced adults that it's geared towards would greatly appreciate the sincerity and openness of the content.
It's an extremely interesting drama. One of my favorites. It's cute, funny, sweet, romantic, steamy and enlightening all in one.
Closed-minded and less mature viewers should simply steer clear as it's not meant for you. I don't even understand why you'd bother watching and commenting on it honestly. It's like knowingly hating horror movies but still choosing to watch one then complaining about all the horror therein.
I won't even bother responding to the complete and utter horseshit in the comment below mine. Neither that person nor those views are worth even a moment more of my time or thoughts.
I've made it all the way to ep 10 without having a single issue with this drama. In fact I've been enjoying it far more than expected. However, the way the sister keeps trying to rationalize her boyfriend's behavior is EXTREMELY disturbing. The only things missing from him being a crazy, violent and abusive stalker are the 'violent' and 'abusive' aspects and those things usually follow rather quickly in real life, when it comes to the behavior he's exhibiting. It's concerning that other viewers may themselves also rationalize such behavior in similar ways and continue on in very dangerous relationships in their own lives.
However, I expect that the drama will address this plot line in a healthy way, based on what I've seen from it thus far. I hope it doesn't let me down. Let's see...
what's the name of the other version you keep mentioning
Bear in mind that while the original is one of my favorite dramas to this day it too is flawed. There were things that drove me absolutely crazy about it. But, I was so totally engrossed in the drama - the story, the ACTING, everything - that it truly moved me. I liked it even more after watching it a second time. It's not a shallow, fluffy drama by any means. There's so much depth to it. The characters decisions often drove me nuts but you could at least relate or understand them enough for it to still be believable, even if you didn't agree with the choices they made. Here the behavior is stupid to the point that it doesn't make sense no matter how much you try to justify it. It's written for dramatic effect not sincerity.
I don't hate this version. I'm just deeply disappointed that the underlying message of the story seems to have been completely lost. Like they missed the point of what was truly going on in the original story and only understood the surface of it. There's no depth yet to their romance either which, again, was the entire point of the story! Their romantic connection was instant and couldn't be ignored. That was the whole point of things unravelling the way they did. That is NOT the case here. They're giving it their best effort but failing.
Ep 7. Okay now they're just making this FL extreme in her level of complacency in her relationship with the SML.…
The entire premise of the drama is lost and pointless in this version and the story becomes completely stupid. The TIMING of how things are going down between the FL and SML is off. It's all progressing too fast (I'm referring to the epic breakdown and full blown toxicity of their relationship) while the relationship between the FL and ML is progressing too slowly for the overall drama to make any sense. With the way the story is unfolding had the FL not been a doormat in all aspects of her life - i.e. had she broken up with the SML giving him all the perfectly justifiable reasons she had for doing so, told her mother how fucked up their relationship was and just walked away, then started her relationship with the ML slowly, none of this would be an issue. At most we'd see the SML trying to get her back (as was the case in the original version) and them powering through it all together as a couple.
The original is one of my all-time favorite dramas BECAUSE of how well it was written (and also how superbly it was acted). The story is already there for them in this one. Why fuck it up? I'm glad it's not a copy and paste but don't take away from critical core aspects of the story in the process.
I'll eventually finish watching this because I do want to know how it plays out but I'm no longer invested.
They've completely missed the point of what made everything about the original so epically beautiful in this version.
I'm only on ep 4 and I'm already sick of seeing the disgusting SML (the FL's boyfriend). In this version I feel…
Ep 7. Okay now they're just making this FL extreme in her level of complacency in her relationship with the SML. I mean the FL in the original version was frustrating enough but this version has taken things to an entirely new level. The amount of stuff he's done that should be more than enough for her to break up with him yet she NEVER says anything and lets it all slide. I'm only referring to what she knows about. He treats her like absolute shit and is constantly gaslighting her yet she never calls him out about it. She proposed to him, he made excuses but now he's back to treating her like she's the one who doesn't want to get married??? WTF? She says NOTHING about knowing he was lying on valentines? Nothing? I really need to find something else to watch for a while. The original version was frustrating to watch at times, yes, but not to this level and at least we had some actual romance growing between the leads to keep us going while watching all the frustrating shit surrounding the SML. Here it's just the stupid shit over and over and wondering why the hell they're even still together. She EASILY could have just broken up with the piece of shit, justifiably so, and then gotten into a relationship with the ML cleanly. They haven't progressed at all so far. Definitely not enough for it to be anything truly reprehensible. So it just doesn't make sense to watch with the way they are making things unfold in this version. I need a break.
See!!! Even the ML knows what the SML is doing! In ep 6 the ML asks the FL if she's ever considered that the SML…
One thing I don't understand so far in this storyline. The SML's mother clearly saw the shit the FL has to put up with both from the SML and his father (at the birthday dinner) yet she doesn't say anything to the FL's mother about it, despite them clearly being very close??? If the FL's mother knew how badly she was being treated would she still be so gung-ho about pushing the FL to still marry that asshole? I don't even understand why the SML's mother would still be pushing for them to get married either knowing that's the kind of treatment the FL would be subjected to.

See!!! Even the ML knows what the SML is doing! In ep 6 the ML asks the FL if she's ever considered that the SML is just waiting for her to make a mistake so their breakup would be her fault!
I guarantee if they ever bothered to show more of their past 10 years together they'd show the SML has cheated on the FL in the past, likely more than once. It's all in his behavior and attitude towards her. He just refuses to be the bad guy in the relationship though, all while knowing full well that he is.
