Red flag number 1. She dragged on her lie for far too long to make the ML jealous by making him believe her nephew…
I just started episode 2 and I'm already baffled by the FL's behavior (sending him the items from the store) since she intentionally planned to provoke him (and succeeded in doing so) during their blind date and yet she keeps adding fuel to the fire between them. Then when he went to confront her to clear up any misunderstanding (and all her assumptions about him) she doesn't even bother hearing him out. Like, I don't get how, based on comments - and even less so now after reading this post of yours - everyone seems to like her all the way through to ep 19. At least you were clear that you had issues with her until later on in the drama. I just don't understand how so many others didn't have any problem with her character at all.
I came on here to search comments to get an idea of what the heck I could expect here on out and saw this red flag list from you. THANK YOU for this by the way. It's a damn godsend.
I don't think I've ever felt this confused about a drama after going through the comments. I've seen several comments about this being light and simple, stress free and other good stuff, with many saying the FL isn't bad - what you describe isn't bad??? - and the ML seems pathetic to some but sweet to others. Reading your list makes it sound frustrating and annoying. I'm wondering if maybe it's something about the delivery that makes it less so?
currently watching, I feel like the writer left the drama before the last 10eps, so they brought someone else…
There were apparently some funding and other major issues which occurred, significantly affecting the last 10 or so episodes of the drama. If I remember correctly the entire production crew (or writing team or both...I can't recall the specific details at the moment) were replaced more than once so piecing those last few episodes together was a miracle in itself. The drama was almost never completed.
If you scroll back to comments from when this first aired you'll find the details about it in here. That's how I learned about it back then.
I just started this. How's the main couple relationship? How long does it take before she discovers hes the famous…
The drama isn't like any of the other "romance" dramas since the romance doesn't actually seem to be the focus even though it's VERY present (and prevalent) throughout. No misunderstandings, love triangles or any of that relationship drama occurs. Yes, the romance can be rather bland at times and the development of some of the background love stories is ridiculously slow but the show isn't boring. We're given so much more to love and appreciate than just a romantic story. It's about artistry and craft and music and gives us some beautiful performances. Like, in what other drama have you seen full shows/performances played out in their entirety? They did it here - twice!
I definitely think it's one to watch and one that gives so much more than another generic romantic drama but for none of the traditional reasons. It's really difficult for me to put into words though. Sorry.
All I can say is I've never watched another drama like it. I think the writer is super talented in approaching stories from an entirely different perspective. Man, this is hard to explain. I'm just gonna stop here.
Does anyone know if any of these characters are based on real people? It has the feel of telling a story about…
I've never seen anything like this by the way. It's so original in it's portrayal and in the way the story was conveyed - the performances, the characters, everything about it was just so masterfully done. It was ingenious. Extremely special.
Does anyone know if any of these characters are based on real people? It has the feel of telling a story about the making/history of the studio or a famous/ground-breaking team to it that I haven't been able to shake, especially with the way the break down each character (career and performing personality) in the final episode. Like I literally would not have been surprised if each character's picture and caption had been accompanied by a photo of the real person they were based upon. I'm not referring to any of the romance or anything like that, of course.
Just asking. No expectations whatsoever about it being true.
I'm sorry but who tf just barges in and joins someone's HONEYMOON and acts like there's nothing wrong with that?! Then she invites them to do things together??? Like, what? I'm supposed to just go with this???
I'm so completely turned off by the writing for this drama right now (I'm on ep 3).
In fact, scrolling down a bit it seems like I'm the only one struggling through the early parts of this drama. The general consensus seems to be that from ep 7 on it tanks but I've actually been forcing my way through these first episodes tbh. From the 2nd half of ep 2 into the beginning of ep 3 I thought things were finally falling into place but now this whole honeymoon trip is just...not jiving with me. I understand why the assistant is there but why the wife when she thinks their relationship is real? That's their dang HONEYMOON!
In the beginning I struggled with even liking the leads (until mid-way into ep 2 actually) and I don't care for the pushiness of this SFL either. I don't see her appeal. Not in the least. Then we have the SML already loitering around the FL's job...
I'm really beginning to think this drama just isn't for me. It's not my style. I may just drop this one.
The one thing that stands out the most about the drama is how beautiful the FL actually is. Her eyes are amazing. Her husky voice I love as well. She can actually act too so I hope her career takes off from here,
Okay, I've decided. I'm dropping it. It's just not for me. I'm really glad so many others did like it though because I do hope to see the FL more in other dramas and there were things I actually DID like about this. The cons outweighed the pros too much for me though. On to the next.
I think they were clearly aiming for a sequel so it has that open ending. So in the absence of one we could assume…
OOOOOOOOHHHHH! You are a godsend! That possibility never even crossed my mind but you're so right about the differences from the other dream sequences. I knew something was off about my theory about it being a dream but could never quite put my finger on it. That's what made me keep searching for better, alternative explanations!
I'm totally baffled now by the fact that I never considered the sequel setup option after watching this twice. LOL! Like my brain cannot comprehend why my dumbass wouldn't have thought of that on it's own.
Jesus Christ! The mother. Wow. Just wow! The words I just used to refer to her cannot be published on here. Okay...somehow…
Yup you totally get where I'm coming from. I just get too affected by some of their depictions. Kdramas are amazing at storytelling but they can sometimes affect me far too much.
I can tell I'll likely enjoy the drama once I'm able to give it my attention again but I've got to be in the right frame of mind to watch it. Right now I'm just not there yet...
Actually...I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what it is I'm craving currently.
I watched this drama purely for Toda Erika. Whether it's good or bad it depends on your taste. For me it was okay.…
This is one of the most helpful reviews (in terms of helping me decide whether or not its something I want to watch) I've read in a while. It gives just enough detail to help me understand what to expect without spoiling the drama for me. Thanks for taking the time to share!
>Here is the US rapists are considered filth and bottom-feeders. lol get off your imaginary murica highhorse,…
As a woman myself I think it's perfectly fine to be concerned with the safety of women anywhere in the world. Did I ever say I wasn't concerned with this situation here? NO. You made that assumption. I simply said I hoped the situation isn't like they've portrayed in these dramas on the other side of the world because they seem to be EVEN WORSE than they are here. It was an eye-opening experience I felt like expressing concern about. You want to use that to make a political rant which I find extremely tacky, VERY immature and SUPER closed-minded.
Also, I've clearly said I hope the depictions AREN'T based on the reality.
Feel free to continue to be the person you and have your views but definitely don't bring your judgement and attitudes this direction. It was completely unnecessary to take this to such a negative place. My comments were expressing my hopes that things weren't even worse over there than they already are over here. I'm not comparing and saying one place is BETTER than another overall. Each country faces it's own challenges and issues. Some things are always going to be bigger issues in one over another. Shoot that's the case from US state to US state. I'm simply saying that I hope things aren't as bad in this regard over there because it'd be a scary way for those women to have to live.
The whole premise of this is just effing stupid! Is she in elementary school? She believes that because he has…
lol I never did finish this one but I do eventually intend to go back and finish it. I honestly forgot about it until now. Still not what I'm in the mood for at the moment, I don't think, but soon.
Jesus Christ! The mother. Wow. Just wow! The words I just used to refer to her cannot be published on here. Okay...somehow…
I have plans to go back and finish this at some point but this isn't the right time for me. I've got to be in the right mood and frame of mind I think.
Here's the mistake they made with the last 2 episodes. They made the FL became WAY too unlikeable, completely…
Also, he quits his job and they're IMMEDIATELY so broke they need to move back into her old place??? Really? Someone like him lives paycheck to paycheck? That's supposed to make sense?
Here's the mistake they made with the last 2 episodes. They made the FL became WAY too unlikeable, completely…
I watched the rest and it was fine but I'm even more convinced they messed up the storytelling with this one. The extent of the ex's appearances should have been limited to, at the most, the first scene where the FL took him aside to talk with him. She should have set him straight and put him in his place then and left, and that should have been the end of his appearances. The effect of his return would have still been there as just his presence made all her fears resurface. She could have still backpedalled from her relationship with the ML without looking like such a bitch in the process. THEN it would have been more readily acceptable for viewers that they were able to resolve their issues and overcome her fears as simply and easily as they did.
Instead they want us to just fall back into the flow that was there before the return of the ex, like the ugliness she showed just didn't happen. Doesn't work. They ruined it.
I've really been enjoying this UNTIL the FL becomes a complete bitch as far as I'm concerned, once her ex returns.…
Here's the mistake they made with the last 2 episodes. They made the FL became WAY too unlikeable, completely out of the blue, upon the return of her ex. The way she treated the ML and her interactions with her ex made her completely obnoxious for those watching this for the pureness of the romance they'd spent the first 6 episodes building up to. The suddenness and intensity of her 180 was too much for them to just try to breeze over to recover from later on. For THAT much of a nosedive, they needed something equally spectacular on the opposite end of the spectrum to redeem her and regain our trust in the romance of the drama.
Had they not let the situation with her ex go as far as it did before she came to her senses then we could accept the fact that the real issue was the fear he brought to the forefront of her mind again, and could then focus on our main couple working through THAT, REAL issue. Her not properly shooting the ex down AND undermining what she and the ML had shared was just too much. It was a mistake either from the writing, editing or directing. Or all 3. But it ruined the drama for me. I literally don't even want to bother watching the remaining half of the final episode.
I've really been enjoying this UNTIL the FL becomes a complete bitch as far as I'm concerned, once her ex returns. This happens in ep 7. Like I seriously hate her right now for reacting the way she does around that prick and letting him do and say all the things he does. Why does someone who treated you so terribly still have SO MUCH power over you? She's COMPLETELY discredited the connection and the feelings that had already developed between her and the ML.
I get from the comments that the leads work things out in the end but at the current moment (I just started the final episode) I really wish the ML will just divorce her. I'm so disgusted with her!
