The whole reason the FL's so certain that dude is her father seems so flimsy and ridiculous to me. I can see why she'd be suspicious, yes, but, based on what they've shown, there's no reason for her to be so certain. Especially not to the point of feeling hurt that he showed no interest in her. The man could be an ex-boyfriend of her mom's or another relative. To assume he's her dad based on the few circumstances showed was just stupid.

1) The cops not wanting to at least question someone who might be a potential pickpocket. Seriously? What's the fucking point of Korean cops? Like seriously. After watching so many dramas their cops seem completely pointless. They act like investigating crimes and gathering evidence of a crime is their kryptonite. Every damn depiction of police activity I can think of at the moment shows them doing everything BUT looking into crimes.
2) I don't get why the FL didn't just give the other girl the bag with the stolen items for her to leave with them instead of doing the whole clothes swap thing. That was dumb. The fact is when they view the CCTV it will become obvious that the two girls worked together when they show them leaving in one another's clothes (the FL kept her backpack). Had she just given her the goods and gotten caught herself, they wouldn't have been able to do anything at all as they'd have had no proof that the FL stole anything from that man in the first place. Case closed. As it is now though, the man can file a police report. If it's actually investigated BOTH girls would become suspects and wanted for questioning.
3) Let's not bother discussing how completely unrealistic it is for the FL to coincidentally run into her noona in that public bathroom. That's just stupid ass writing.
Hopefully, this gets better but it's not off to a good start in my opinion.
Saw online somewhere where someone recommended watching this after watching Alice, The Final Weapon so I'm checking it out.
I just started it though and, not even 8 mins into it, there are already a few things about the beginning scenes that already aren't doing it for me. They aren't adding up logically...
It's a way of showing they have escaped the world together by end they said let's run, ? should keep running,…
They were both cold, sleepy and hallucinating - aka dying - as they drove off in the car. How exactly would they have gotten out of the car? Someone rescued them? Also how and why was the FL suddenly showing signs of being near death? Up until the moment she finally shot and killed that guy her wounds hadn't been fatal. Suddenly, in the car, she's dying too?
It seems more likely that the whole car scene was a final fantasy the FL was having as she was dying. She dreamt of them getting away together and finding their happy ending. That dream was very much like the other dreams she'd had about their happy story earlier on in the drama. There was always some reality seeping in to mess up their fantasy.
The most logical explanation is that everything from the moment she was about to pull the trigger to kill herself - meaning, from the moment the ML suddenly spoke and said he loved her - was nothing more than her final dream of them finding their happy ending. Her final thoughts as she was dying. The ML had already died when that guy shot him. She pulled that trigger to kill herself.
No matter how you look at it that scene of the car drifting off to the side of the road would have been viewed as them dying. Everyone expected the camera to pan around and see them both laying dead in their seats. What threw everyone off - and gave many hope - was that the car turned out to be empty. Most people seem to assume that means they somehow got away. To me, it's the only thing that made me realize that whole final scene was just another dream since it turned out not to be real. It's how I realized they didn't die in the car but they died when he was shot by the guy and she shot herself.
I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything. I really wanted a happy ending for them too. So if you have another interpretation for why the car was empty and how they would have gotten away I'd really love to hear it. I've watched this twice now and I'm even more convinced the second time around so an alternate perception would be greatly welcomed.
what happened in the end? Did they both die in the end? Or did they run away?
I just watched this again and I still don't see how/why the dominant consensus leans towards this having a happy - albeit open - ending. Even in the car they were clearly showing signs of being near death - hallucinating about it snowing and stating they were sleepy and cold. The fact that they weren't in the car at all when it panned around is the most confusing aspect, but also what makes me believe that none of it - i.e. the car scene - actually happened. It seems more logical to believe that entire final scene of them driving off in the car being nothing more but her final day dream of them having their happy ending but, as she was dying herself, they were also dying in her daydream.
Logically, it only makes sense that the ML really died when that man shot him and that she did pull the trigger when she held the gun to her head to kill herself. In her dying moments she dreamt her happy ending, starting with him speaking and saying he loved her. The whole car scene was a continuation of her dream that they got away and had their happy ending but, because she was really already dying the dream kept incorporating signs of them dying as well - the feeling cold and sleepy bits, etc.

In fact, since the FL had otherwise not been fatally injured - she'd been shot but she seemed like it was something she could survive just fine - it doesn't make sense otherwise that she was suddenly showing signs of being near death while driving the car - cold, sleepy and hallucinating, that's about to die. Why? From what? No, I'm even more convinced now that she did shoot herself and that was her final dream.
Honestly, I think most people assumed that when the car just pulled off the side of the road like it did, that they had died. What threw everyone off was the fact that the car was shown to be empty after. People want to believe that means they somehow survived and got away. I, however, think it's the only sign the writers/director has given us that that part of the story - their happy ending - was nothing more than another dream.
Loved the drama. Acting of the leads is really good. The only one whose acting never convinced me is Long zhi…
This right here is a pretty great review. For those like myself who are scrolling through the comments trying to decide if this is something we'd be interested in watching, this is exactly the kind of feedback we love to see. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with you.. how did this drama got a 8.4??? It was a waste of time!!!! i advise everyone not to watch Netflix…
I can agree with that. I do remember thinking for the longest time that it must just be me that felt this way about Netflix and it's Asian drama selections. Some of my all-time favorites were on Netflix but so were those which were the most disappointing. Those that were disappointing were especially so because they'd been going sooooo well - high quality writing and production and just everything - only to wrap up with the most frustrating endings. Like, I get wanting to be artistic and all that but I get frustrated when the whole reason I've been enjoying a show so much is completely done away with at the very end. Why cater to a certain audience for most of the drama to only throw in a dramatic twist that would alienate more than half of those very viewers???
Other platforms have lots of disappointments too but...okay with Viki, I'm not as apprehensive about getting started with those dramas. 9 times out of 10 they're pretty feel good or, somehow, I know what I'm getting into ahead of time so I'm rarely blindsided. That's it. With Netflix, I'm shellshocked. I've been completely blindsided way too thoroughly too many times in the past. Not just with Asian dramas either. With foreign dramas and movies in general. So now I always have to look for ending spoilers before I start any foreign Netflix movies or dramas. For me it feels like they want to air shows that will lead to a lot of discussion, whether good or bad.
Anyway, that's just my own personal experience after watching several hundred movies and dramas. It just struck a chord hearing someone else feel similarly. Like I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I'd made a similar comment to a close friend of mine a while back and, like you, she hadn't felt the same about her experience with Netflix dramas, so I do realize my opinion on this isn't a popular one.
I have a question. I keep seeing comments like this one about the SML having a chance if he'd tried. Does the…
*smh*
I just don't get why people constantly do this with second leads. It'd be different if she'd been torn or there were signs of her seeing him differently (from that of pure friendship) but when they've shown no romantic interest in the character whatsoever, why do people still persist in trying to ship them and/or saying they chose the wrong person? Choosing someone you don't love is the right choice??
I enjoyed this for the most part, more than I expected I would actually. I loved the romance and the chemistry…
One thing though. I never like when they make second leads who've done really bad things to their love rivals, find a happy ending with their second lead counterparts, when said counterpart is fully aware of all the shitty things they did to the person they supposedly were in love with. What I mean is the SFL here did some shitty stuff to the FL. The SML knows the things she did, yet he now has feelings for the SFL? He knows what kind of person she is and she was willing to hurt someone he once cared about. I don't get that logic. We understand why he'd liked the FL - because she's a good person and pretty and all that jazz - but with all the ugliness of the SFL's personality how does it make sense for him to now like someone like her? I just think it's lazy writing tbh. They played it off well but it still was an annoyance for me.
I enjoyed this for the most part, more than I expected I would actually. I loved the romance and the chemistry between the leads. The ML was hot and sexy af. They had quite the steamy relationship too which I loved. I loved how he loved her.
There were things that irked me, like the SFL not getting into trouble for some of the shit she pulled and I don't like when second leads don't get firmly rejected. There are other small aspects of the story and production that were weak here and there but overall I enjoyed this drama. It was worth the watch.
Wait, wait, wait. I just watched the first 2 mins of this. They literally said he and his wife are two "sick"…
Okay I HATED it. Truly. That ending? No. Not because I dislike the premise of a trio like this raising a child together - not at all. Had they discussed it properly and agreed to go this route as a planned decision I'd be perfectly fine with it. However -
1) the ML stated early on in the drama that he didn't like kids at all and did like being around them; 2) his boyfriend CHEATED on him and got his wife pregnant! 3) they BOTH completely betrayed him! Now they want to all just continue living together all hunky dory like a happy family?! What the FUCK?!
So this so-called 'happy ending' is utter bullshit! He should have kicked them both out. It's not like it's his child anyway. He wasn't in love with the wife, not at all. The one he did love cheated on him! Are they not going to address that at all? So what, he's just going to continue cheating with her in the future? They still all live together now as a family. So does that mean the ML has agreed to be in a polyamorous relationship? That's NOT how those things work!
I'm so angry at myself for watching this entire thing. So angry!
Wait, wait, wait. I just watched the first 2 mins of this. They literally said he and his wife are two "sick"…
The FL is clearly in love with the ML to the point where she feels like she can turn him straight and/or takes his inability to return her feelings as a sign of something being wrong with her. Does she not understand what being gay means???
Wait, wait, wait. I just watched the first 2 mins of this. They literally said he and his wife are two "sick"…
Gawd! I watched more and I just cannot stand these depictions! The way they make the ML have a practically phobic reaction towards women is just obnoxious. Everyone's reasons for being gay in this drama is based on some sort of phobic response to women. WTF?!
The only one I had respect for was the ML's father. His reaction to finding out what had happened was dead on. He wasn't angry at his son for being gay but for his irresponsible behavior towards the FL by getting married. He made it clear he only pressured his son to get married because he never knew he was gay. He's literally the only character in this thing that made any damn rational sense.
Wait, wait, wait. I just watched the first 2 mins of this. They literally said he and his wife are two "sick" people taking care of one another - one gay and one and alcoholic. WTF?! Since when does gay = sick? I'm so offended by this and I'm straight! It was said by a gay man too!
Reading this synopsis was crazy as hell lol. But it sounds soooooo interesting. I'm not a lakorn watcher but I'll admit this one has caught my attention so I think I'll be checking it out.

Anyway, to each his own.
After they got together it became a bit too silly in some ways but it was still super fun and enjoyable. Not a bad watch at all.

I cannot think of the last drama I hated this much. That ending pissed me off so bad!
1) the ML stated early on in the drama that he didn't like kids at all and did like being around them;
