NOTE: This technically has a sad ending. The ML dies to save her. The FL has their child and there's a scene at the end where she imagines him returning, but the last scene confirms it's just her imagination. It doesn't feel like a sad ending though and, quite frankly, if you aren't paying attention properly you'd miss it.
The writing is so over-the-top and the directing and editing ridiculous at times but it was somehow still very engrossing. I watched it in one go (it's nice and short) and surprisingly enjoyed it. It's pretty bad though tbh lol For instance, the SML's acting was really terrible but it still didn't turn me off enough to stop watching.
There's an important spoiler for happy-ending lovers though...
Well like the others said -=- the FL ex is back -- and so goes the ML's -- so called dead gf -- has a twin that…
I couldn't follow a lot of what you're saying about the twist and turns of the drama (lol - it just sounds like a big mess to me) but I get the gist, and agree with you completely. All that messiness isn't what makes dramas interesting. Like you, I love dramas that get to the point faster too. I want to see more of them facing challenges together as a couple and overcoming them together and becoming stronger for it. Not all the messiness of outsiders getting involved and coming between them and poor communication and misunderstandings and all that contrived and unrealistic drama that's written in just to make the story complex and supposedly more 'exciting'. That's only appealing to a less mature and inexperienced audience who doesn't get that a couple getting together is only the beginning of their story.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I don't mind conflicts with exes and triangles as long as it's not repeated…
Once a couple gets together is it all sweetness and romance thereafter? Umm, no. These aren't fairy tales where they live happily ever after. There's a lot of growth in the relationship to go through and there are life challenges that they face together as a couple.
I'm guessing you're younger and inexperienced though so you may not get that the value in a relationship comes from going through things together not the messiness of outsiders and interlopers.

I seriously cannot believe how much I ended up enjoying this drama. It was totally unexpected. It wasn't perfect. There were a lot of corny scenes with less than perfect acting but because you could tell you weren't supposed to take those things seriously they didn't take away from the viewing experience at all. At least not for me.

Had they made the SML/main antagonist a serious character this would have been an entirely different drama. I'm so glad they didn't go that route. Instead I've really enjoyed this because you just couldn't take that guy seriously no matter how despicable he was.
Just starting ep 7 and I have to say my favorite thing about this drama so far is how much it doesn't take the antagonists seriously. It's actually funny seeing them NOT get away with everything. It puts a much lighter spin on a story that could have felt stressful, angsty and dramatic. Instead it's been maintaining a fun, lightness to this that makes it really enjoyable to watch. It's unrealistic as hell but fun. So far...
I'm midway through the final episode and I'm sorry but I am not at all happy with how the SFL has been handled.…
I would! It was entertaining and enjoyable for the most part. In fact, now that I know what to expect I'll eventually watch it again sometime.
The comments here kind of set my expectations differently going in which threw me off but it wasn't bad at all. I loved watching how the relationship between the leads developed and everything else about the drama actually, other than the secondary aspects of the story I mentioned above.
So, I'm a huge fan of season 1. It was my first ever asian drama and i watched it when it came out. Even to this…
I watched both seasons years ago and guess I ended up liking season 2 as well, but I just finished watching season 1 again and I find myself stalling on starting season 2. I believe the main reason for dragging my feet is because, like you, what I want to see more of Nao and Uehara developing their feelings and having a more mature relationship. Not more of them dealing with third parties and other people coming between them. There was just enough of that to keep things interesting in season 1 but another season with even more of that just feels like it'd be too much.
Honestly, it's kind of a turn off too that everyone here keeps talking about loving Natsume, who wasn't even in season 1. Why is a third party more liked and spoken about than our leads? That just tells me right off that there's too strong of a focus on the introduction of new characters...I just don't know....
I guess I'll watch it and see if my suspicions are wrong. I remember NOTHING about the details about what happens in the drama right now.
Yuri always running to these damn high schoolers whenever she's having one of her hissy fits is really a turnoff.…
I love how they always go back and show that the ML was always thinking about the FL and that he didn't just ignore her but didn't want her to force herself to do things with him that she didn't really enjoy. He made adjustments for her too, to make her happy. He just never would get the chance to before things would blow up. His biggest issue is his terrible communication skills.

Okay, her not telling him about her birthday *smh* what a fucking idiot! But him not communicating with her about the other stuff is still unacceptable. Still, it means he's not the bad guy everyone's been making him out to be on here.

From ignoring her and blatantly blowing her off to now completely ignoring her while she's in the hospital for several days, meanwhile hanging out with and accepting things from another girl (things he doesn't normally do, not with his personality), then moving out without saying anything to her first (just leaving a note with no explanation?!) AND completely forgetting her birthday? WOW! He's the epitome of a terrible boyfriend right now.

Okay...I just started ep 15 and the ML is finally genuinely being a shitty boyfriend. He pays the FL no attention whatsoever and has been completely neglecting both her and her feelings since the start of this episode.
One of my favorite things about this drama is that they keep things relatively light throughout this first season. I don't remember the second season so I can't comment on it. but I'm on ep 14 of this one now and even though a lot has happened the scenarios never get to be too much...it doesn't ever go far enough with things to become stressful.

But then she pulls that crap with inviting everyone on their trip without saying a thing to him. She's just as inconsiderate. That was a dick move too.
EDIT: I can't stand when dramas try to make the guy the dick even when he's right for being mad. Yes, she planned out all this stuff for them to do together so we feel badly for her but 1) that was done before she went ahead and invited everyone else to join them (realistically, those plans go out the window in a group setting), and 2) it doesn't change the fact that all she needed to do was talk to him about her concerns once she realized the issue with them going alone and they could have come up with a new plan together (he was absolutely justified in being pissed off at the way she handled things). SHE'S the one who pulled a dick move this time.

Despite its flaws I still enjoyed this drama tremendously.
