I finally see now why so many people loved this drama. I think from about episode 3 the annoyances all went away.…
One thing I DO still have a problem with - why do cdramas always find a way to let bad guys who aren’t so-called ‘redeemable’ by the end still find a way to escape justice? They never just let the bad guys go to jail, not when he’s been a main character. Either they try to give them a back-story that’s supposed to make you pity them, or they die. I don’t like that at all. Why not show them actually get captured and punished properly.
I finally see now why so many people loved this drama. I think from about episode 3 the annoyances all went away. I ended up really liking the FL. I also am a bit confused as to why people continued to say she wasn’t trained when the story does address that by saying she got various certifications and even incorporated he studies (and development) into the storyline. I ended up really enjoying this one!
It’s not 10-worthy but it was interesting and entertaining.
Okay, gonna try picking this back up again where I left off in ep 2…
I’m going to assume the drama gets better although, for the life of me I can’t get how or why so many people were hooked during the first couple of episodes.
Ep 3, so far, seems better - FL wasn’t a complete moron and the case interesting - however, it was obvious from the get-go that dude was lying and obviously you’d have to look into both sides of the story before assuming delusion so it was a tad irritating how they tried to make it more complicated that it was just to juice up the storyline. But just as it was getting to be too much I like the spin they threw in about her selective amnesia to keep it going that way instead. I’ll admit that was a good move.
I’ve watched a lot of cdramas and although I try NOT to read comments on here as much as possible it’s inevitable that I fo because I search for spoilers before I watch. For the life of me I can’t understand the inconsistency in the comments. Shows that weren’t bad get slammed left and right but other shows like this get great reviews from episode 1? On what planet does this compare to high-quality dramas that deserve to be ranked a 10! The writing so far is elementary and while the acting is fine it’s in no way outstanding enough to deserve a 10. I just don’t get it.
Like I’ve said before I’m going to assume this gets better as it goes on but for people to be hooked from ep 1 I have to think maybe there’s an age gap in the viewership or something?? I’m thinking the people who think so highly from the beginning must be very young. Or maybe some people haven’t seen really good dramas so they don’t understand what they should be like?
I like it but its too short and left out a lot of good story like the other nurse and firefighter and I don't…
I agree! Well I don’t think it’s too short but I do think they wasted a lot of time on certain storylines that would have better spent on other things. Like they wasted way too much time on that guy who didn’t want to study. A lot of those scenes would have been better served keeping up with other side couples. Also even if they wanted to throw in that bit with the psycho criminal dude they should have kept that plot line to no more than 2 episodes instead of drawing it out over something like 6 episodes like they did.
Okay seriously this wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the comments here made it out to be. It wasn’t a great series - I agree - but all the hate is excessive. They drew out that last part of the show with that psycho dude waaay too long and the plot line with that one fire fighter studying was just dumb for them to focus on but I’ve still seen worse than this. It’s below average but there are several good points to it too which kept you watching to pass time. It wasn’t one of those dramas that was so bad I couldn’t watch it. I did ff a bit, especially from about ep 19 on, but not anything crazy like others mentioned.
Maybe it’s because I’ve watched a lot of cdramas before this one that I wasn’t as thrown off by it as others.
Also, I watched it on Viki though and I get the impression that WHERE you watched the drama makes a HUGE difference. I don’t think all of the poor editing mentioned was the drama itself. But I may be wrong. It’s just a suspicion I have.
My suggestion is if you’re pretty well experienced with cdramas and don’t set any high expectations you could find it to be a decent filler drama. Oh and watch it on Viki if you can.
the beginning was quite good but it went downhill around ep 12 or 14, I don't even remember. I have 8 episodes…
Do you happen to remember when the main couple gets together. I’m only on ep 2 and don’t really like the setup for a love triangle with the leads. Does that get drawn out?
Ummmm. Is it me or is it weird that a bunch of men are in the showers washing one another? 😂 when one guy hit another’s stomach I flinched not realizing where he was aiming. I’m a girl but it still made me nervous. 😂😂😂 Don’t think that’s the reaction they were going for lol.
Liking this show so far but I’m only midway through the 1st episode.
OMG! Seriously? I went from one annoyingly written drama to another. Stopped midway in the 3rd ep of Dream Garden because the intelligence of some of the script writing for that one is damn near preschool level.
Now I’m just 10 mins into this one and I’m already irritated. It’s called Fire & Rescue. How could firefighters arrive on scene and completely disregard the brewing FIRE and go straight to the rescue?? They didn’t try to get that under control first or even bother assessing the situation. In fact, they didn’t pay attention to the fire at all! Only the off-duty officer did that?? Seriously? I’m pretty sure firefighters watching this would be dumbfounded.
I’m still on ep 1 and I’m having trouble liking FL. She’s so dumb! Like how can someone that dumb go around…
OMG! The way they choose to “explain” the abusive stalker dude’s behavior is to blame it on the way his previous girlfriend treated him? Seriously? Isn’t that just a chauvinistic was of saying another woman made him that way? WTH?
I’m still on ep 1 and I’m having trouble liking FL. She’s so dumb! Like how can someone that dumb go around…
It’s the script writers. Complete morons. The overall plot is interesting but the scripts - especially FL’s - are terrible.
Hers another great example: FL begs ML to hypnotize her to help her remember clues. He does and she remembers some details. Then later she asks if hypnotism really works because it doesn’t really make sense? Like…what am I supposed to do with that.
Jesus these writers are making it so hard to enjoy the show. It’s like a failing high-schooler wrote the damn script. Their extreme stupidity is making the FL’s character agonizingly dumb. I see why someone else said they dropped on ep 2.
Problem is the plot is interesting. So I’m just gonna keep my fingers crossed and try to ride this out a bit longer. Hopefully it’ll start flowing better soon.
I’m still on ep 1 and I’m having trouble liking FL. She’s so dumb! Like how can someone that dumb go around calling herself an expert on anything? And clearly all it takes for you to be an “expert” is for you to call yourself one. That’s enough to get you on tv and giving people advice?! Her getting hired at the clinic should have been treated as strictly an assistant’s position - like maintaining his schedule, preparing his presentations and such, and she could simply have learned from him by sitting in on his lectures. But clearly the writers think psychology is just common sense or something along those lines. I just don’t get it.
I don’t mean to rant. It’s just the more I type the more irritated I’m getting. It’s taking me forever to make it through the episode and I couldn’t really figure out why. It’s not that I don’t like it - I’m used to having to turn my brain off with these dramas - it’s that I can’t handle stupid people. Perfect example, she says (as a threat, mind you), “you wanted to fire me, right? If you help me I’ll resign myself. If you don’t I’ll make your life hell at work and in front of your colleagues.” Ummmm, simple solution…just proceed with firing her as planned. Problem solved.
I loved it! Yes the romance was a bit dry like someone else said but there was just so much else to love about the drama. I laughed A LOT, cried some (@Rapturerinse warned) in ep 11, and by the end of the series was the ARMY in me was craving another live BTS concert like a true Stan, so all-in-all it was a job well done! That final episode was so much fun!
Did want to see those head Fin girls later on. That would have been fun to see.
I’m completely in love with this drama. Those leads brought their real life emotions into it and just slayed these roles. Some of the best acting I’ve EVER seen! It was outstanding!
One of my all-time favorite romantic movies. Right up there with The Notebook and Ever After (yeah I’m old 😂)
Sooo. I haven’t really like the 2nd ML’s character all along. He’s extremely arrogant and turns his nose up at the people around him who he seems unworthy. Plus it irritates me how overly young he looks lol. I can’t even find him handsome because of his attitude. But seeing his behavior now after he’s left the company to go work with their competitor, I REALLY dislike him. How can his arrogance be even worse!
Hopefully that actor won’t do more rolls like this or he’ll be set in my mind as a complete turnoff. Problem is, some of mannerisms seem too natural for him too. Either he’s naturally effeminate or he may be a snobbish rich boy in real life or something. Hopefully that’s not the case.
It’s not 10-worthy but it was interesting and entertaining.
