Ji Sung and Lee Se Young are both such tremendously talented actors. For me, watching them bring to life a role is like watching a masterpiece being painted. I know how talented they are but STILL they always completely floor me with their skill in each new role I get to enjoy them in. Ji Sung is just next level, and I’m a Caribbean-American so I’m talking on a global scale. I can’t even guess what his personality is like in real life because he completely becomes each new role.
I think the entire problem in their relationship is the fact that they did not enter this marriage as willing…
I’m on episode 3, watching after a friend recommended it, but I was struggling with whether or not I should continue so I came on here to see what others had to say.
Your comment is by far the most thought out and helpful feedback I’ve read in a while. Very impressive. And with what you’ve shared of your viewpoint in mind I finally think I can enjoy the rest of this drama.
There is a petition to move it to Netflix in case anyone was interested. http://chng.it/vn2XTNLdwB
I probably won’t even watch it LOL but I don’t agree with what’s being done so I hope they get to finish and air the entire series so those who do want to watch it can. This censorship crap is out of control.
It’s FICTION! It’s not meant to or trying to portray accurate history. It’s not a doggone documentary. Yes they should have made sure to use completely fictitious names but it’s no different from western movies like Angels & Demons and others which include actions taken by the pope that never really happened, or even movies where the American president at the time said or did something that clearly never happened. It’s just part of a STORY!
Why not simply avoid watching it if it bothers you that much??? Like @Arii1824 said, the drama is work of fiction. It doesn’t try to portray itself as being factual. So it’s stupid to take it so seriously. And talking about the way they dress? That’s just plain ignorant. Seriously. I guess a good compromise might be to be more blatant about changing characters’ names and roles in the story so that there’s no doubt the fictitious-ness of the story.
If this was a historical documentary portraying inaccurate facts THEN there’d be something to take issue with. This has nothing to do with pride in Korean history. Someone started an uproar and, as usual, everyone joins the bandwagon. There’s so much ignorant group-think in Korea it’s ridiculous. There’s way more serious issues going on there that should be their main focus. Instead they get worked up over this dumb stuff.

Thank you for sharing!
