The beginning is super weird and seems kind of disconnected from the rest of the series. It's taken directly from the manga (but very much toned down, manga is MUCH worse). If you can get past the first episode or two, it will turn into a completely different story.
I wish they hadn't just toned down the beginning but actually rewritten it completely, because it's like two different storylines that shouldn't belong together.

Yeah the beginning is questionable, and believe me, they toned it down A LOT from the source manga. But they pretty soon leave that behind and it changes to a really super wholesome story.

Gaga, iQiyi and WeTV have licensed it for different regions. If you can't watch it on one of the platforms because you're not in the correct region, it will be available on one of the others. Or just use a VPN.

I agree that they dragged out the angst/separation far too long. It screwed up the pacing and was just frustrating.

I agree, they should either commit to the kiss or just leave it out. We don't need grown men long out of middle school to do chaste dead fish lip touches. I'm really happy that they went for a real kiss! (Unlike that other recently finished JBL, smh)

I think it's a budget thing. Lower budget means that if you want to keep up the production quality, you will have to have fewer episodes. At least this is still better quality-wise than MGB was. As for script, pacing and character depth, I guess we'll have to see how it pans out. I just wish we could have seen it the way Boun originally envisioned it.
Revenged Love had 24 episodes that ranged between 35 and 55 minutes, with most clocking in at around 40 minutes. But I haven't noted down the exact minute counts. But it definitely didn't have hour-long episodes as standard.

You always have a notice period when you resign. You have to hand over your tasks to the new staff etc. This is in most employment contracts.

I'm a fan of both dramas and it just makes me sad when people get partisan about them and try to sow discord in the fandoms. It's not a war. We can support both.
RL is also pretty morally grey but it's set in the real world so the premises are different. Personally I'm all here for both repressed-obsessed Chi Cheng and batshit crazy unhinged Hua Yong LOL

They were implying that being a RL fan means being a hater of ABO Desire. Which is a super reductive way to look at it and also not correct, since I am proof that it's possible to be a fan of both.

I agree that none of the characters in RL even come close to the unhinged craziness that is Hua Yong, but that doesn't mean that they aren't red flags. All of them. Did it become less toxic toward the end? Yes, but I'm betting ABOD will get sweet toward the end as well, because that's how romance works.
