What exactly is Junho's job? I thought he was a lawyer, but he isn't. And also I'm beginning to think he is also…
He's an Investigator. Basically his job is to do the research needed to support the case the lawyers are pursuing. Sometimes that will require physically going to the scene, doing interviews etc., sometimes it would just be computer based research.
I have no much knowledge about Autism Spectrum Disorder and whatever i know is through this drama so my comment…
She can DEFINITELY have and show emotions - just look at her passion for cetaceans (whales, dolphins, poropises...,)! What you describe is actually a difficulty in recognising or interpreting the emotions of others, which humans 'typically' express and discern through facial expressions. The cards are to help her learn typical facial expressions and what they 'typically' mean. The difficulties that can then arise, are when people fake facial expressions, so learning body language can also be a skill to learn, that will help autistic people in social situations.
Ep 5 bugbear... Just like any massive generalisation "Autistics can't lie" is not actually true. Autism spectrum is called 'spectrum' for a reason. Maybe Woo Young Woo is not very good at lying, but that isn't true for all Autistic people. And whilst we're at it, another frustrating but prevailing generalisation is that Autistic people lack empathy. This is also incorrect, and in fact, the complete opposite can be the case - being overly empathetic and therefore easily overwhelmed by social interaction.
I know there's a lot of...strong dislike, for the ML but I really feel for him. The character is a brilliant portrayal…
Also; as much as I can feel empathy for Xin Zhen (wife of ML), because she is clearly unhappy; she IS emotionally abusive! Threatening divorce, witholding care and affection, controlling the space in which they live, contempt for his food choices, his behaviour, his work, his facial expressions ('you didn't smile'), interfering with his work. So many examples...HE needs to leave! (Again with the awesome character portrayals!)
It concerns me that viewers are siding with her over him! I so want people to be able to recognise abuse immediately, and stand against it.
I know there's a lot of...strong dislike, for the ML but I really feel for him. The character is a brilliant portrayal of a toxic level 'people pleaser'. He keeps trying to do what he 'thinks' everyone else wants him to do, whilst completely failing at it, and not doing what is good for himself. I really, REALLY hope at some point in this, he wakes up! AND to continue the brilliant portrayals, the two women he is attracted to, are strong, assertive... purely themselves (and pretty self-absorbed) - the total opposite of himself (and probably what he wishes he were). I love the depth of characterisation in this show!
Trying to imagine how watching people 'meeting to talk about stocks', is going to be entertaining ππ§π€ Call me shallow, and you'd be right - they will all need to be very pretty π€£π€£π€£
Thank you! Since you want to see the others I'll find them for you shortly.1st one https://mydramalist.com/article/summer-selection-42-all-time-favorites-asian-osts-0110151072nd…
This article is AWESOME! Thankyou for putting this together. I'm now about to search for your Autumn article...but I'll be waiting for Summer and Spring from you, so I can use them as reference articles π - I live in the Southern Hemisphere...
It's not a drama but the OST that still moves me to tears when I hear it, is "Sparkle" by Radiwimps. From the Japanese anime movie "Your Name". Even thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
I'm waiting with bated breath for this, in hopes it's good. Park Eun Bin; seems likely. But depictions of neuro-diverse characters is fraught with issues around representation πππππ get it right in this.
idc the SFL is toxic as fuck. she doesn't even deserve to be considered the ML's little sister... how tf will…
β€ I am so happy that you and so many others feel that way! Her words are a textbook attempt at co-ercive control. Sit up and take note for your real lives. This is a GIANT AND BLOODY RED FLAG Run Run Run from anyone in your life who speaks to you this way!

Gnah, just found the answer to my own question. "Family Consent" and protecting the patient; is typical, in practice, consent law in China. Letting....it....go.
Ok, I have a big plot question that is really preventing me from suspending disbelief (aka annoying the s**t out of me). Is it normal in mainland China that a patient is NOT fully informed of their full diagnosis and required to give their consent to treatment? And that their family can do so instead?! This would be COMPLETELY unethical and illegal, where I live; unless the patient was a minor, or had an issue that prevented their consent (cognitive impairment for example). Can anyone tell me one way or the other, so I can just get over it and move on π¬
why do I find yang zi's character so annoying? Is it just me?I mean why is she so obsessed with looking good all…
Admittedly I'm only at ep 5, but I really like her character - she's caring, generous and optimistic. I haven't seen her be appearance obsessed AT ALL. She even has the same hairstyle in every episode - is that what you mean by 'looking good'? Or do you mean more 'saving face'? Not that I've noticed that either π€·ββοΈ

The idea of it, still freaks me out, but I can accept that it's trying to protect people.
