I loved Qi Heng. He really loved MingLan. Sure he is inexperienced but he is not a heartless tyran like all of those high So people. The way he was force by this horrible yong family to marry their spoiled brat monster broke my heart. I had to pause the drama here and there cause I know for sure they will make him "love" that spoiled b.tch

MingLan is a good drama. Everything feels natural in how thing unfold and all. My only pet peeve is Feng Shiao Feng. He is just not fo me (I have to pass on Peng Xiao Ran next drama because of him). On a shallow note a stronger more appealing actor like Wang Kai would have elevated it. Haizzz.
I feel there is a patern with cdramas for me :
When the storyline is engaging and everything is near perfect there is a problem with the casting of that one actor that kinda ruins it :
- Story of Minglan : FSF is my cryptonite
- imperial coroner : all is well until I see Zu Xiao Tong pouting, facial expression and hear her horrible dubbed voice
-Joy Of Life : I love that drama, I finished it but Li Qin has no chemistry with ZRY (she has it with Qin Hao)
- Sword Snow Stride : Li Gen Xi is miscasted. If they wanted so much to cast a childlike looking actress, a girl like He Lan Dou would have been perfect ! My shallow side can't bear and watch pouting Li Gen Xi. It just looks bad for me

The lightning is like Joy Of Life

I love how in ep 1 ML demeanor went from pitiful fear-for-his-life "jokester" to absolutely powerful don't-mess-with-me prince once he got into his kingdom. And people asks me why I love ZRY as an actor so much. For me he is like a Tony Leung in his prime when he was still acting in TVB or a Leslie Cheung or Jacky Cheung in their heydays. That golden age Hong Kong actor vibe that is so rare nowadays since the domination of the pop idol look. ZRY is looking younger than in JOL

True ! Personally I don't mind the dark cinematography (I am in the minority that loves it cause I am not too much into the bright one one see in cdramas a lot). I loved Joy Of Life that had the same style. Wished the fighting scenes were better. But the feels that I get from this drama also like the 2005 Handsome sibling's with Dicky Cheung and Nic Tse. The fight scenes give that old Gulong style. I only watched 2 episodes. Waiting for the rest

For me the weak is LGX casting. I just don't get it

My feels ! It is like a wuxia drama I watched during the 00's, something the likes of Nicolas Tse played in it.

Wished another actress played Jian Ni. ZRY has 0 chemistry with Li Gen Xi. Even I would have taken Guan Xiao Tong

The 1st thing I thought after watching 2 episodes was golden-age Hong Kong wuxia pian and Stephen Chow. This is this old style I get here and I am in for that. Tired of same rom coms, xianxia and whatever else

I see still the leeway is way too much. Like hitting your dad and all is kinda a curse in my view. ML should have been more respectful. Lol his lil bro is adorable ! He is a Fei Liu lol. I love on battlefield Xu Xiao is a beast

Gives me Joy Of Life vibe
I like this type of color grading

Nice dynamism btw characters
Hu Jun and Zhang Ruo Yun natural charisma

Bad things :
The way Xu Feng Xiang treats his father : big NO
As I expected Teresa Li and Zhang Ruo Yun look bad as a pair. She looks too much like a high schooler next to him. Blergh

It seems for me this drama was an opportunity to introduce Haneul actress. There is no other explanation for what is shown now. What a disappointment. Wasting potential on a minor bully character for what ? The PD went the TSent way on this drama.

I think in the drama HoIn is attracted to AeJin and not Haneul. If it was not the director intention here again I would say bad job

I hate how AeJin treats her mom. The drama's director did a bad not to dwelve in that part of the storyline but has wasted too much time in trying and make a bully sympathetic

This drama went dowhill very fast eh ! What a shame
