Hi, hi! I kind of... have a feeling that the more screentime couples have, the less interesting their story gets. So it's more and more often for audience to develop second lead syndrome, because the amount of time for second couple is just right - like, if we put it all together, it might be a 2h movie, and isn't that great? )) It is less boring and more exciting, because scenes are shorter and fewer. There will be a flashback about their past life, which I already saw RAW, for me it was quite enough. But I would love to know a little bit more about them post-canon *_*
Oof, it was a bad idea to start watching this right after "The long ballad". The difference in quality is soooo…
Haha, I also watched this after TLB and the gap in quality is striking. Some people actually already mentioned that ML's actions were sometimes creepy :D I also didn't believe their love story, and why he was ready to go through so much suffering for her. Moreover, I finished 30 episodes with subs and I still don't really know what kind of person ML is. I stayed only for second couple, and I could skip the rest, but I just prefer to know the whole plot, and episodes are short, so I watched skipping only repetitive main couple music-memories scenes.
They felt like being of the same age, about 22-23.
Well, they simply don't look or behave as very young or naive. They are both smart, well-trained, they seem to know a lot about life, just not about love :D Sun has some battles behind, but he doesn't look older than 23, and in certain situations he gets adorably shy, that's why I wouldn't give him more. Changge seems to be older than Leyan, whom I would give 17-18 years.
In episode 9 of the rewatch and omg I am getting mad at Hao Du again, dude you place such a big importance on…
He brought Changge and Leyan to that place on his own. I think they got out of the city the last moment before the gates were blocked? So all his men stayed inside probably. And in general he stayed alone with Leyan back then, his men were gone with Shuyu, I assume? Or they evaporated because of scriptwriter's will. And then he went to light the beacons, so that army could help the city. Leyan also wanted him to go, though she was mostly worried about Shuyu at that moment :D So he left Leyan to do what both Leyan and Changge wanted him to do (but he pretended he didn't care).
I also don't understand why noone blamed him later, or why he didn't blame himself. In fact, when he found her, he said "blame me", but it didn't get to final cut, can only be seen in bts.
Kinda disappointed how is it possible for Mimi to die when chang ge been shot so many times but still survive…
I expected Mimi to die, but I also think it was kind of unfair, taking into account how much they changed her arc in the drama. Why did she have to die protecting Changge? It better be her brother, for example. I didn't like that in last episodes Mimi died protecting Changge, and Sun had to save Changge from the fire. Creators forgot that Changge can very well save herself.
I've finally started watching this and I'm 5 episodes in. It's really good so far, but I have a bad feeling about…
There are very few dramas or movies which can surprise you about who they kill off. Usually indeed you just have that feeling and it turns out to be right(
Hao Du and Shuyu look so much different, faces, clothing, expressions, behavior .... I am so confused, that I…
And music! I just remembered the freaking scary music, which was first following only Hao Du and his father. So distinctive. Also, for me Alen Fang is a very soft-face guy, he just looks k_i_n_d, nothing in common with how HD looks at first. And Alen is probably the most good-looking in that hat-whats-it-called, I didn't mistake him with any other guy in this drama.
"Then I started to feel insecure about accidentally hitting pause on my remote. " Hahahaha, I was watching yesterday new subbed episodes and at some point my videoplayback froze while audio was still on, and you know, I DIDN'T NOTICE IT for a solid number of seconds :D
You did not understand the story right? Female main lead was the Dragon King's savior, in order to repay her kindness…
But really! QQ never asked Mingge, why he told her about pipa if it was so dangerous to XQX. They never asked Mingge how the string was supposed to help to remove her mark, what's the connection? Dragon King didn't ask Mingge why he needed golden armor. Basically someone just says something, and characters accept it - maybe because they know it works like that in their world, but we don't know, so we are confused. Yes, I loved the second couple too, so I forgive them quite simple plot and some dragging, because they were extraordinary cute and hot together. I watched some of their scenes like 10 times :D
