I could maybe understand ML being mistaken for one of them, when he is in Tang clothes, but these two with each other - nah.

It's quite a nice concept actually, and XQX indeed had a nice character development. I also like that he was quite reserved person back then when he met QQ for the first time, so his character didn't change much after memory loss, he just became even more grim. And the only person who could make him laugh was QQ *_*
On the contrary, one of the reasons why main couple love story bothered me was that FL was quite different person in her every lifetime. It was already discussed here in comments a bit earlier, than it's weird. I am happy that they didn't do the same with second couple, and XQX even in white clothes is still a bit grumpy and lonely guy, and QQ in both lifetimes is lively and funny, and scolding him :D

I think I would be very worried about XQX being controlled, it lasted quite long, and I hated that he had to fight with Dragon King, and I think creators totally ignored their friendship, which was highlight of some earlier episodes, and could be used in the finale in some way against Mingge. Mingge's development as villain looks totally lame too, but I have to wait and watch with subs to make sure I understood everything.
As for XQX dying, this scene didn't last long, thanks heavens. Second couple was the the best thing of this show, so if they would not have a happy ending, audience would bury the show totally. Luckily creators were not that stupid, I even think sometimes that as this couple were not characters from the game, creators kind of loved it more because they created them :D

I watched raws partially and I think they are ok. There are many things I don't like, as in the whole show, but as for the second couple, they will have several very nice scenes like with drunk QQ :D, quite long past-life part and a happy ending. I think if episodes would come out 1 per day as in tv shows, we would be very worried about second couple in episodes 34-36, but luckily they were released at once.

For me it anyway feels like they didn't show actual kissing because of some artificial reasons, not because the pairs themselves or the concept itself didn't need lips-to-lips kiss. And by artificial reasons I mean possible Leo Wu non-kiss contract and age difference for gesun couple, and this dragged second couple in non-kissing too just not to insult fans.
