This drama is so much better than "In The Name Of The Brother". That was just about the Nationalist party at Har Erl Bing capturing Communists. In this drama, there are few facts are based on real even happened. It was true that the Japs did created "Plague Infected Fleas Dropped Bombs" or known as Chemical Bombs. Besides this, they also captured the Chinese people to conduct chemical weapon test to frostbite experiments to amputations without anesthesia. This vicious idea was based from "Unit 731" human experiments lab. The perpetrator of this vicious experiment was a Jap's bacteriologist Ishii Shiro. And coincidentally in this drama, Da Qiao He Ye played this role. Second fact, certainly in this drama they can't show to audience the actual type or types of bacterias developed by the Japs, so, simply it just called as "KW30". But in actual, it could be "Cholera", "Beri - Beri", "Dysentery", "Shiga Bacillus". These are once at that era's most deadliest pathogens. And are real information if google search key words "Unit 731". Third fact, in this drama Da Qiao He Ye's plan the "Luo Ying" plan and "Luo Ying" mean Blossom Drop", it's another true fact. Except it's not as the same as the drama showed. The real Blossom Drop plan in actual was a "kamikaze" act volunteered by Jap's pilots. It was also known as "Yokosuka MYX-7 Ohka" or better known as "Ohka", a secret weapon that the Japs hope will changed the course of the war. The Ohka was an atomic bomb, designed similarly like a torpedo and was carried by the "Betty" bomber planes on it's bowels. The volunteered "kamikaze" pilots then will sit in the cockpit of the Ohka, a torpedo alike bomb build with a small cockpit with control "joystick". Then the bomber plane will dropped the Ohka down from it's bowel to the sea and the pilot controlled the Ohka bomb with the joystick targeting American warships or carriers. That's the purpose of the Ohka, to strike precisely by these "kamikaze" pilots on the Amercan's warships. One was done successfully by Lieutenant Saburo Dohi. His Ohka strike the American warship destroyer "Mannert L. Abele", causing it to split into half and sank. To know more about Ohka or the "Blossom Drop" plan, may refer to the book "Blossoms From The Sky" by Dan King.
Besides developed chemical bombs and human experimentings till used it to killed several hundred thousands of Chinese victims, the Japs was also well known in all sorts of the most cruel tortures, amputating their victim's limbs, fingers, toes, drowned in formalin. (Formalin can caused death from throat swelling and as chemical burns to lungs, skin, eyes and gastrointestinal track). With all these unbearable tortures, I don't blame there are still many Chinese up to today still hated the Japanese. Even thou it had past almost a century. And not just the mainland China's Chinese, the entire Asia Pacific and South East Asia there are still many that hated the Japs. Regarless emperor Akihito had apologized for his country's brutal actions during WWII. This isn't racist, it's something unforgivable especially many of us our ancestors was either murdered by the Japs or killed by them during the war. My comments about this drama isn't that I'm emotional, but is certain parts that reminded me their brutality and no doubts, this drama so far resembling to the most reality that actually had happened.
For anyone who sees this, I'm desperately seeking a brief history of how China went from being an ally with America…
If you're interested to further understands more about that era in China, here are a few (I think) good dramas maybe you should watch. 1)Battle Of Chang Sha 2)Brave Heart 3)Brave Heart 2 4)War Of Faith 5)In The Name Of The Brother
For anyone who sees this, I'm desperately seeking a brief history of how China went from being an ally with America…
Some information(s) was from my great grandfather / mother, grandfather / mother. Others are from several dramas and English movies, certainly, I can't trust everything from dramas and movies are real, but gathered useful information. And some are via googling. That's how like pieces of puzzles patched up the history idea.
About myself, I'm the 7th generation of Chinese descendant from my ancestors. It was some time during in the late 1870's - 1900's, very near to the fall of Qing Dynasty, my great great grand ancestors was sort of rich merchant of rice, grains, charcoal, tungsten, timber, herbal medicines, cloth and gold merchant at GuangDong. And sensing the political directions with knowing the war was coming, yet the Nationalist party are the local's threat, they quickly resale and wrapped off all their businesses, exchanging into gold bars. Then gathering the entire family clan get ready to migrate, or so to say escaping. Somewhere before 1920's, the last batch of family clan managed to escaped out of China by ship and was almost caught by Nationalist party and the Japs. That's how I knew in actual reality during that era, it was true that how cruel and lawless in China. Fortunately my ancestors managed to escaped, and fortunately I wasn't born at China and not a mainland Chinese nationality.
For anyone who sees this, I'm desperately seeking a brief history of how China went from being an ally with America…
Second part, US, Britain and France joined force only on air force to fight off German's air force. China did not joined 'cause at then they still haven't got their war plane yet.
About Russia, Russia was ally with Germany. Japan attacked Russia at Port Arthur which leads to the Russo Japanese war.
Before the war was fully erupted, yes, the Chinese was sort of disliked the westerners. Especially at Shanghai, the city was devided into 4 territories (if I'm not wrong ...), this you can google up 'cause I only knew what the territories are called in Mandarin, in English I'm not too sure what was it called. And these westerners at their appointed territories, they are given high ranked government positions, such like the chief police, high judge, customs officers, port officers. And the Chinese people worked under them. Because of these not "suppose authorities", these westerners misused their authorities, they received bribings, unlawful acts, bullied the Chinese and raped any ladies as they liked. The Chinese was coolie to them. That was the main reason after many years the Chinese been bullied by the westerners, then later was forced out of Shanghai. But these unlawful authorities wasn't granted by the Communism party, it was granted by the Nationalist party, because they too are equally filthy.
About the fight or differences between Nationalist party with Communism party are, Nationalist party's members are totally corrupted, from top to below ranks. You can understand them as, blood suckers, corruptors, murderers. Under them, numerous of Communist members was brutally tortured and murdered by them in their secret torture chamber and jail. Whereas the Communism party their believing or faith or desires are, creating a better China, equalism, no rich and poor difference standards between the people of the country, everyone is equal, no bribings, no corruptions, no crimes, no illegal deeds ...etc. These made the Nationalist party's members hated the Communism, 'cause these Nationalist party's members had been habituated receiving bribed money and living luxuriously.
Hope these little information had provides you some insight history. Pardon me if any parts I'd made mistake.
For anyone who sees this, I'm desperately seeking a brief history of how China went from being an ally with America…
Your questions are very "historical", I think not many members here (audience) including myself can accurately provides you the most accurate answers. But here's what I knew from my ancestors ... Your first question, how China went ally with America. This is a very long history. It dated back to some time very close to the fall of China's last dynasty - Qing Dynasty. The Japs had begun intruded into China, but not the Jap's troops, only some under cover spies. They pretended to be merchants, investors doing business with China, and some are geographers. Their main tasks was surveying all about China especially the resources and the military power, then to send back to their country. Especially when they discovered Shanghai, it was as seem a "new world" to them, modernized buildings, night life and entertainments. Comparing back to their country and their capital Kyoto, Japan was a feudalistic country with no advanced technologies and lifestyle. After a few short decades, their emperor and ministers decided to invade China. Partially you can imagine, Japan is a small islanded country, and to compared with China, China is a large piece of land. Won't they wanted it ? When the Jap's troops fully invaded China, the first state they attacked was at Chang Shar. Aiming from Chang Shar to the military point of Chong Qing. It was at Chang Shar had the most bloodiest Sino Japanese war with the Chinese troops and thousands of people was brutally killed. The Chinese military was strong, but they was lacked of modernized weapons, tanks, guns, RPGs and war planes. The war struggled for about 10 or 11 years. But Jap's troops was divided into many battalions, not only they attacked Chang Shar, Shanghai, NanJing and BeiJing too was fallen. Besides in the China's Jap's battalions, the other Jap's battalions was intruding into the entire Asia, Asia Pacific and South East Asia. That's what an ego tyrant's mistake was made, they decided to invade the "sleeping tiger" (US), they intruded into Hawaii the naval port also was the most important military point and bombarded the US's war ships and carriers. And through this, it woken up the Americans, they can't continued to stayed out of business attitude. Certainly when the Japs intruded China, the American knew. But there are other factors America had to considered before saving and allying with China. Same time at the West, Germans was intruding almost the entire Europe. Only several stronger countries like Britain, France and America was joined force (this I'm sure you'd knew). Further on, the Americans developed the atomic bombs and dropped it at Nagasaki and Hiroshima forcing the Japs to surrender, but they knew it was an one way journey, ain't sufficient fuel for return. So what we saw from that movie Pearl Harbour, only a few points was based on true facts, the date of the Japs bombarded their naval port and the selected brave crew to carried this "suicide" mission. But the end results wasn't true based on the movie. They didn't crashed their planes on the padi field and was shot dead by the Japs. The true fact was, this is when the American asked the Chinese to joined ally with them, saving their American crews if should anyone of them landed on the Chinese's soil. The brave crews wasn't like the Pearl Harbour movie's ending, they knew they had to abandoned their planes after the bombing mission. They was using parachutes and jumped when their planes entred into China's air space. Many of them was been rescued by the Chinese troops and maybe some wasn't that lucky. And in actual, Americans wasn't been "chummy" with the Japs. It was just "make up" to "numbed" the Japs that they (Americans) wasn't interested with their war. But in reality, they (Americans) did send lots of aids (medicines, medical equipments and medical personnel) to China. And in this drama the beginning, remember ? The Chinese troops joined ally with the American troops inside Myanmar, this part is based on true fact. Not only at / to Myanmar, also reached to border of Cambodia and aiding to Cambodians. These are so far I knew about.
Thou it's a little comedy, but overall the storyline is okay. The story about capturing the illegal "Kui Grass", it sort of reminded me in this era the marijuana. And it's so cute or fun at the last episode's ending part where the list of actor's names and role are played, all the actors they dance with their ancient costumes with that song "Little Apple" by "Chopstick Brothers", or in Mandarin is known as "小平果" - "快子兄弟" remix version.
Overall it's an excellent drama. Every cases that came to their hospital are unique. But I think it's a little exaggerated 'cause all was focusing on Zheng Ren's capability. In actual, I do believe there are many great and talented doctors in China. But because there are too many doctors in the country, this medical line of occupation became very competitive. Also can't deny that there are many hospitals and doctors that only care for making more money but not the patients, and their medical professional skills are just an average, ain't the best. Because China is such a big country, there are so many states, province and cities, hence many great and talented doctors are scattered at every where. Not exactly must be the capital city of China has the most great and talented doctors. And no doubts, the medical techniques are very advance in China, unlike during the 80's, 90's or 2000's. They keep improving 'cause many up rising doctors are educated from overseas, and they brought their leaning skills back to the country. Except a few facts are quite complicated to understand. Most of their hospitals are privatize and very less are government's. Another is their insurance's policies. But as a tourist if visiting China, I highly recommend to everyone, it's much better before your trip, buy a "holiday insurance" or "travel insurance" to protects yourself for that duration (days) that your visiting trip. It helps a lot in case any unwanted injuries, accidents, or unpredicted issues occurs. The travel insurance do covers these unnecessaries if should need to be hospitalize. You can't rely on your normal life and hospitalize insurance from your country, 'cause it's different and involves between internationally. Also bad to comment, as a tourist wherever you're visiting, if should fall sick or any bad incident were to happen and needs to be hospitalize, these foreign hospitals and doctors they frequently "throat slash" tourists (means that they'll charge you extremely costly).
Ying forged divorce documents, what happened to their kid? and was gloating over making her an international bigamist.....what…
This, I agreed with you. I only thought that, perhaps Wallace acted in this drama, supposed it should be a "watchable" drama, but ... I didn't thought the storyline was this lousy and triggered audiences with a lot of negative emotions. Which are the type of drama that make audience feel angered, irritated and all the unenjoyable emotions. So in a way to say, it's true too, I agreed with you, both men are lousy or played a lousy characters. I too was skipping / fast forwarded a lot of parts while watching, cause it's just damp annoying. But no doubts, the casts are very experienced and good actors. Wallace, Tiffany, Tan Kai, Eric Le Yang.
Oh my goodness me ... Aii Yoolll ... What a 'soapy' drama / storyline ... Seems like every casts in it has too much of tears to spare, she cries, he cries ... I wonder was it through crying in this drama that at the end made Nicky and Cecilia got married into real life couple ...
Ying forged divorce documents, what happened to their kid? and was gloating over making her an international bigamist.....what…
No doubts he forged a divorce documents and nearly violated the law, but he was indeed a gentleman compares to Yi Chen's attitude. The only regretful mistake Ying Hui made was, too over confidence of himself to allowed Mo Sheng to return back to homeland and loose her forever. If this mistake didn't happened, the rest of the lousy stories follows on won't be such a waste of time. Perhaps like I'd mentioned on above, I really don't like the snobbish, prideful, arrogant and forceful attitude and characters of Yi Chen (played by Wallace). It's just my solely opinion about the drama's storyline. I didn't mean everyone must agree with me, each individual's have their own perceptions. And another fact I'd mentioned, I only dislike the role Wallace played as Yi Chen, not on Wallace himself, he's a good actor for many other dramas except this one.
I'm so irritated and agitated by the ML (Yi Chen) since from the drama's beginning while they were at the university. His character the way he treats the FL (Mo Sheng) is so arrogant, typically the 'classic alpha male syndrome'. It's like "When I call you, you must come, When I get cold on you, you guess it yourself what wrongs had you done" that type of character. That agitated me a lot. And the FL (Mo Sheng) played by Tiffany Tang had totally 'pulled down' on her role. I just don't understand why she had to (acted) so guilty and obedient towards Yi Chen. As seem Yi Chen is the 'dominant' and she is his 'submissive'. It's not her fault at all while they was at the university that he just called off their relationship. All was only his pride was been 'sort of warned' by her father. And these arrogant, cold, prideful characters remains in him until he's a mature working adult. And Mo Sheng also played a foolish role that, leaving America back to homeland. In fact, every thing in this drama seems very wronged / lousy storyline / wrongly arrange screen castings. It gets a little better parts for audience to feel while watching was at America, Mo Sheng met Ying Hui and gets married. But Mo Sheng stupidly chose to return to homeland and divorce Ying Hui. It's a huge and damp stupid mistake yet childish decision, even after so long she still couldn't get over Yi Chen and still remains at the part where they had separated, and wishing to reconcile with Yi Chen. I appreciate / prefers Ying Hui / Mr. Ying, not just because he's rich and a successful businessman, but it seems Ying Hui is a gentleman, a mature man with compassionate, patience, understanding and reliable man. Whereas compares Yi Chen with Ying Hui, Yi Chen is so prideful, jealous and forceful. So what as a top lawyer ? No big deal but he thinks he's the big deal. And Mo Sheng ... I just couldn't understands what stupid thoughts are in her mind and her childish behaviors, although she's a fully grown adult. Her acts irritates me. And other casts like her colleagues, these people it seems very foolish too, all they see are only a person's 'outlook', like who's the hottest man, richer man to get the media and megazine publisher's attentions. Must it have to be so materially realistic ? Lastly, I'm only disliking the casts played in this drama, not on the actors. Wallace and Tiffany are (considering) good actors in other dramas. Only this drama ... Urhh, a 'super' real lousy storyline. For those just beginning to watch, my solely opinion, don't start, don't watch, don't waste your time, better choose something else to watch to avoid all the unnecessary negative emotions that this drama brings you feeling into.
12 EPISODES and I am at my limit. The FL's Wig takes the entire attention on screen; How's the one responsible…
Yea, agree ! Her wigs are so artificial and her style of dressing doesn't suit her as a mature married lady. I wonder who's the 'bad taste' costume & hair styling designer for this drama.
can you tell me how long the love triangle dilemma goes on? i'm only on ep 6
Can't remember exactly, I think it's somewhere between ep 24 - 30. Actually, no need to worry too much, Mu Wan Qing already had good feelings (slowly trusting and understands) for Tan Xuan Lin since he agreed to help her to overcome her family's issues, to force her step mother that bi*ch and her step sister that brat to reveal their wicked motives and ugly truth. It was an agreement between the ML & FL. The ML actually had like her (FL) since they first met on that cruise. But bcoz he doesn't understands and trust her much, in the beginning he was quite harsh and skeptical on her. But once his plan that he have taught her on how to overcome her cunning step mother & sister had proven effective, she begin to have more and more good feelings on him until it is love.
Actually, I don't quite like the ML (Chen Xing Yu) from his previous drama "Goodbye My Princess". Perhaps it was from that role he played as prince Li Chen Yin had portraited him as a very selfish, strong jealousy, liar and very forceful guy. It gave me that feeling so hated him while watching that price's role he'd played on that drama. But on this "Fall In Love", I felt okay - good about his role's character in this drama. Thou he may not be my favorite actor that I appreciate the skills and talents, but I can say, in this drama he played well in his role. Overall, this drama's storyline is okay to good, nothing too harsh emotions like other dramas that made audiences feel "imbalance emotions" like hating, anger, feels like slapping some casts on their face that type of emotions. You get what I mean ? Anyways, just enjoy the show, in it good people at the end have good returns / deeds, bad people have their retributions / karma.
Excellent drama imho, both leads are equally strong in their characterisation, there are some minors absurdities…
And also the FL's step mother and the step sister. Especially the step mother, I'm disgusted by her 'bi*chy' character and greediness and shameless. When the half burned photo was confiscated, it showed the baby girl, I'd guessed that's Mu Wan Ting (the step sister) and she's not Mu Zhi Yuan (FL's father) biological daughter, instead is Min Da Chen's daughter. Yet she's so unruly and arrogant to address herself as Mu's family eldest and only Missy. Till the truth is reveal she's nobody but just a bast*rd child. LOL !!

To those just about to start watching this series, just a reminder ... Have your meal first, then take sometime to digest, and forgets about what you just had. Or have some sour or sweet candies with you, just in case you need it. 'Cause from the first episode on wards till a few, it's gonna show you the first most gruesome and disgusting murder case. I almost puke ... And it ruined my appetite for my lunch .. at certain parts I had to turn my eyes away. This Medical Examiner Dr Qin's series I had watched all most all sequels.
But in this series, unexpectedly it started with the most disgusting case ...
