I felt his acting was more natural in the other one…. Ah, Ashes of Love… I thought he was really very amazing there though like, somehow he managed to convey the complicated character more naturally… I personally thought he was so much more striking versus Deng Lun in that drama. BUT…. I totally didn’t really enjoy Ashes of Love, no idea if it was too long or like the plot. The only thing I remembered was Leo Luo and his character.
over here I don’t know, something felt amiss… I felt he used a lot more effort and energy here to make it more obvious with his facial expressions which was esp apparent during all the tormenting scenes after he became the king, but somehow I found it a bit strange though. I actually liked him the most before he became the king. It was natural there, more subtle and smoother…….? So his whole take on devil in love/obsessed didn’t sit quite right with me.
Actually the ending as long as it’s solid then it’s fine… but for one I know they changed so many characters already and they forced so many additional things. I don’t know. Lol, they didn’t do that previously. I will monitor the trailers. 🤓 BE will just make me curl up into a ball for a day. Muahahahah.
Lol, to be fair I always thought he had a thing for her in the 1st episode… and I thought actually in the mortal…
Lol, I was talking to another MDL member below and we were talking about this. He/she brought up something important and now it made me realise how time travels dramas/movies are quite messed up if they don’t handle it properly…. And I finally understood why Mainland banned time-travelling themes.
I don’t think they should either but equally I also feel it’s very sad for XL and just the entire thing is just messed up coz originally it shouldn’t have been like that. Aih, but once TTJ knows then with the whole YBC thrown in, my poor head hurts. The entire thing will be super messy again. Why can’t they have a smoother, sweeter arc… without so many external people…… can’t the focus be more on the 2 of them…… sighssssss…..

I don’t think many people would watch/approve if they didn’t change his character though 🤣🤣🤣 at least I would like to believe so, otherwise the world is pretty messed up…. Maybe Mainland govt isn’t confident in this hence why they would have banned it with censorship… 🤣
Yes, unsure coz once you alter things, it then becomes… uhhh… it’s not easy to edit stuff with the intention to omit/delete things etc. it’s easy to edit things to smoothen and make it more accurate but to omit, delete, rewrite certain parts etc,… usually it makes the entire thing very messed up. A lot of people were commenting on how well a job the screenwriters did, I totally agree though…. So far…. But the last arc…… uhhhh I don’t know. Lol. So far I watch the trailers and go…. Hurmmmmm… 🤔

He did, poor dude, I wished the screenwriters actually altered that a bit so that our wise king TTJ didn’t suddenly appear dumbed down overnight…. Kinda sad in that sense. They should have given him 500 yrs of something else. Like Time-displacement river or something…🤣

Also, like I have to say I’m not confident about the final arc, and equally there isn’t a proper English translation that is completed for the final arc. So I have no idea wot will happen and equally have no basis for estimation. Ah, reason I said this is also because I don’t actually like the novel, it’s super disturbing.
But even without all that complicated displacement it obviously has though just from thinking about logically and simply… no?
I mean think about it, she would never have met and subsequently married the dude if the act to send her back into the past failed. He would just be a stranger who attempted to kill everyone including her. So basically her fate/ending has permanently changed. Not only hers, everyone basically, TTJ etc. Lol, I remembered Doctor Strange went into crazy detail wrt this, and altering the past was strictly not allowed. 🤣
Ah true, a lot of Western movies/dramas constantly highlight this concept/theory but I don’t see it used much in C-dramas. Like once you go back and alter the past apparently according to metaphysics, the future becomes distorted…
From what I understand before she went to the past LSS and XL were engaged (probably arranged not for love) but…
This is the Taoism thing right? “Wu Wei”, 無為? Noticed you put up the H in capital letters. Coz actually a lot of the FL’s actions+thinking are related to Taoism which they have embedded in novel but for the TV adaptation the removed all of it but left her character basically unchanged.

I think Qin Hao is a solid actor but I’ve only managed to watch 2 of his works…. He usually picks very niche and unconventional dramas.
