Sighs, and I thought the prisoner bit was sooo good. Ep 10 was just damn weird, even the dude’s revelation about CSAT and college was weird.

whats the webtoon ending?
But it was like wot he said? Like they discovered an effective weapon after 2 months and all the spheres were eliminated in the matter of weeks?

But I felt even his revelation was really weak though, so I don’t know if it’s wot was in the webtoon or the screenwriter is just not good. But his revelation that CSAT and college isn’t important but the warmth of friends is…. That’s kinda…. Uhh… 😒 wth… that’s so random

Yeap, because he would do it… I still remember one of his statements, “I’ve also been a Crown Prince before, and to not fight for it and compete is dumb.”

BUT… in the novel, he is ruthless though… and I know the ending of the novel… I was defo surprised… I don’t know if they will change the TV series adaptation..

Oh gosh, it’s true though. I’ve actually never quite watched a drama that depicts the house chores, and child rearing in detail. It’s usually glossed over or like “glamourised”. There was a movie that came out; Kim Ji Young: Born 1982… think there are overlaps in themes… it has really good reviews but I’ve yet to watch it.

Esp coz in Japan, S. Korea, just like Europe and US there isn’t any help. So in S.Korea they could get help from parents at most… but in countries like Japan and S.Korea it becomes very complicated/distorted for the current generation because females become career oriented but the house chores and child-rearing mostly still remain undivided unlike Europe and US whereby individualism is core of their society. I believe things will be different in another 10-20 yrs for S.Korea… Japan perhaps not…

Cool idea and concept but the lack of CGI and budget makes it very…. Odd. Kinda kiddish…? It’s something that should have been Alchemy of the Souls kinda CGI-fantasy level.

It’s borderline acceptable. But yes, it’s kinda obvious that it’s dated…. Think some people would have thought that it was a low-mid budget kinda production… but Mainland’s progress in wardrobe and CGI has been exponential since then….. so luckily the budget for this series then is probably on the higher side… if otherwise I think the gap would have been unacceptable…

Yea same here. I was really surprised by how good Song Ji Hyo was here, her crying really made me resonate with how it all accumulates if both parties are working but only one person is doing most of the chores including raising a kid… and then she transforms into this really attractive lady, so hair, makeup, wardrobe was on-point… when she goes to work. I personally don’t find her attractive outside of this drama (she isn’t unattractive either).

I read lot of comments below saying how it’s about communication which I understand and also agree, but this drama reflects the Asian/S.Korean culture whereby it is very patriarchal. The true story is originally based in Japan which is still very patriarchal and women are always expected to smile/be pleasant (like wot the FL said basically)… and probably my own character is similar/closer to the FL whereby sometimes you just keep pushing forward and you don’t actually realise it has all been accumulating until one fine day…. Something detrimental just happens, or something snaps. This can actually happen to any man or woman. Imagine a guy always struggling at work and wife doesn’t work, and one fine day he gets fired and then a female appears randomly to provide solace. Tables would be turned.

I actually also really like the bit whereby he reached out to the ex-gf, I don’t know if this was wot happened in reality to the original dude, but I actually found this bit also very raw and relatable… the ML said, “oh, back in the day, she was so in love with me even when she broke up she was still so hung up on me etc etc”…. And the actual truth when they actually spoke a decade later, when real communication took place… without any emotions, was that the ex-gf loathes him. The shocking revelation that hit the ML, precisely shows why at certain points in time, people don’t actively communicate. I actually thought it was akin to how he viewed his marriage and his general character. Because communication works both ways, if a person has no awareness, it’s not communication. It’s like being at work at times. A person gives orders, or a person complaints and the other person just does it without really agreeing or understanding the intention behind it even after countless discussions. There was one part where he was honest…. He admitted to basically never putting in the effort to understand her.

Yeap, I didn’t think there was any gender bias or glorification in cheating. It’s just different circumstances surround it and just sometimes it’s going out and actively looking to cheat which is just bad, and sometimes it’s superficial, or it could be something else altogether. Cheating is without a doubt wrong but the drama was just depicting circumstances that lead to it and the aftermath.

This remake was so much better than the Suits remake… though I only watched one or two seasons of the American version of this series…. Think it’s partially related to the budget for this one being slightly higher than the Suits remake… The casting for this is so much better, though I don’t think Jang Do Yeon is as charming and alluring as Alicia Florrick (unrelated to her solid acting capabilities), hence the FL being the only exception. The rest of the main leads aced it, alongside the supporting cast. Everyone’s chemistry was way off the charts…

Nana was truly amazing here, loved her character. She has a knack for acting, kinda sad that she doesn’t usually get casted in good dramas…

Kinda surprised the MDL score isn’t higher… thought it was a pretty solid legal themed series regardless of whether it was a remake. The cases are definitely a lot more unique, interesting and the details are defo intricate versus a lot of other Korean legal dramas. I’m deducing it’s because they adopted the cases from the American drama.

P.S: Damnnnn, that smokingggg hot elevator scene…… 😍😍😍 Also actually loved all the tweaks they made to condense the 7-season run into 16-episodes. I actually kinda preferred the Korean remake in a some ways, esp the ending though I do find it a tad rushed.

Title Divorce Attorney Shin Spoiler
Wot?? It’s only 12-episodes… noooooo…. So short!
Damns, I thought the evil wife would get more of a payback. She was let off too easily, she’s the epitome of crazy…. Like insecure, evil, manipulative and like ughhhhh!! 😡😡😡 Wth, I felt they could have done with another 15 mins to really wrap it up properly. Can’t believe the husband actually got a divorce to marry her, something I cannot understand…

I actually thought this was really really good, sounds like I’m the minority based on all the posts below 🤣. Raw and realistic esp. how men (or even women nowadays) underestimate the amount of work, time and energy that comes with upkeeping the household and bringing up kids while trying to have a career. It was so real when he said, “I actually thought I did so much when I take out trash and drop-off my kid at school, I absolutely had no idea. “

Most of the comments below think it’s glorifying cheating for females but I didn’t see that though… or at least that’s not wot I learnt after I finished the series… though I do think they were trying to differentiate different type of affairs and cheating… regardless of gender. Like physical, just about sleeping tog and the picture changes periodically, or emotional whereby it then becomes an affair with another sole person. And the subsequent ramifications of it… the different choices people make because of different circumstances, how it affects kids when they are at a sensitive age… etc.

I never knew Song Ji Hyo was a good actress… This is apparently based on a true story…. Maybe that’s why the details were so painstakingly real.

Title Second 20's Spoiler
I’ve never thought Choi Ji Woo was a good actress at all… didn’t think she was bad either… but she really…
The ending as much as it was the typical K-drama trope and in a way kinda cliche…. BUT it was actually really realistic given the FL’s circumstances…. I can totally understand why she rejected his love and why she wants to stand on her own two feet…. It’s actually really scary to a person when she finally realises how “useless” and small one became because the person who got you pregnant manipulated and constantly rebuked you for 2 decades…. Starting another relationship immediately regardless of how much “love” is like jumping from one fire to another….

Also, how she very realistically dropped out of university, this was probably the most realistic out of all…. The dialogue was also very practical at times… I.e like when she rightly mentioned Germany was a mistake, a mistake a 19-yr old could have easily made… and she acknowledged it. A revelation I never had myself when I was younger was actually all the questions her son asked himself in his freshman year after the heated debate with his girlfriend…. One especially stuck “why do you want to work for a large corporation?”…. He is so lucky because he realised he actually didn’t have the answers to those questions…. I wished I asked myself those questions before hitting 20… and perhaps now I can understand why people take gap years, I used to wonder why….

Title Second 20's
I’ve never thought Choi Ji Woo was a good actress at all… didn’t think she was bad either… but she really nailed the role here… like she was annoying, frustrating and once the rough diamond gets a little polish, she shone and was charming in kinda cute way…

I don’t think she is the best pair visually when it came to Lee Sang Yoon, somehow they don’t look very compatible physically because of their facial features, in fact they look slightly odd together… but their acting and chemistry made up for it. For example, Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Hanee look super compatible and cute tog… they have sucha similar face.

He's so hot. Love him.
Not only that, he’s really smart and quite athletic too. Talk about having it all. Wonder how his real personality is behind the cameras.
