LOL! Oh my gosh, I told my brother the EXACT same thing when I read the whole article. I said. Shitz, they must be the dumbest people on Earth⦠how could they expect to get away with this? With technology nowadays and in sucha densely populated city. And sheās even a KoLā¦. Like not some orphan or homeless personā¦. How stupid are they actually⦠initially I thought it was like a spur of the moment thing and to some extent it was an accident then itās not coz they were dumb, then I read it was premeditated⦠and Iām likeā¦. š wot theā¦.. wot kinda failed premeditation is thisā¦.
Conclusion is⦠which actually is the case in Mainland China as well. I think thereās even a Mandarin term for this. People shouldnāt become wealthy overnightā¦. Esp people who are not super grounded and educated. It drives a person crazy and dumbs them down. And poor kids, I read like the couple shares a pair of kids between them. Like they will have to live with the fact that the father et al. Killed their motherā¦. Sighsā¦. Messed up world.
Yea, hence when I saw Xia Bing Ching here Iām like, Iām very sure these kinda people exist in the world. Extreme and just⦠like theyāve gone mad.

Yes, same! And even the thriller, more often than not itās about money⦠just like the Abby Choi case⦠and in a way itās kinda similar coz itās caused by a group of people⦠like super eery in the sense Abby Choiās chauffeur is also like the brother of the ex-husband. Somehow it reminds me of the chauffeur in this series. š³

Couldnāt agree more! But I have actually met people like that. Always demands perfection from the partner but have never demanded the same from themselves. Sometimes I wonder if they are even aware⦠weird.
It feels like watching two different shows sometimes, the mystery case and then the shady husband / equally creepy…
Lol. Perfect way to describe it⦠shady husband and toxic wife totally sums it up.
BUTā¦. I thought it was an amazing series.. the parallels contrasting, weirded out but⦠itās so engaging⦠mostly coz of the way it was shot⦠so the high production quality made a massive difference. Otherwise it would have just came out weird, b.s and totally crappyā¦

Ah ok. Will rewatch it again later. Thanks! My Chinese isnāt that good. 𤣠Oh yea, for sure. I most defo understood the marriage dynamic even from the start. I still think itās a tad abstract⦠But the thriller yea, I mean they kinda cheated with the whole fall guy, but heās just the stand-in guy.. the last domino to fallā¦. Itās coz all 4 of them prior⦠like the dude who raped her, wife, the chauffeur, esp the guy downstairs actually⦠I mean. Xia Bing Qing is quite crazy honestly⦠lol. And it reminds me girls can be kinda crazy if they want to be⦠so her reaction is always bizarre.. at least I think so.. for me, I would have either sued his ass⦠or just take loadsa money and bolt. Or maybe both, But she wanted to do kamikazeā¦ š¤š¤š¤ Iām not a big revenge person⦠so⦠yea.
Btw, they defo shortened the ending, I read that her colleague actually kissed her in the novel⦠which made her go through a revelation because she was really shocked.. but in the series they just made it into a ambiguous confessionā¦

I just finished the raw Ep. I like the case though. I think itās one of the more realistic non-psycho thriller cases. Itās actually highly plausible⦠in current times. I was sorta expecting this kinda ending, it was one of the scenarios. It was the ābutterfly effectā thing she hinted earlier. So the entire thing is a domino effect basically⦠the final killer as much as he was a random person isnāt all that random to begin with⦠It all truly started with the guy who raped her and subsequently the guy downstairsā¦. And also to be absolutely fair, she did have a Stockholm syndrome thing going on whereby her response was alsoā¦. Really out of the ordinary.
But yes, the whole parallel thing with her home life, esp the ending I watched just nowā¦. Yea. So like the novel, they left it as an open ending. Without ever explaining why he was at the hotel and who the mystery girl wasā¦. That bit was a bit too abstract for my liking⦠it leaves a lot of food for thought butā¦. Ummmā¦. Yea, I mean to be fair, a good amount of relationships and marriages areā¦.. āabstractā⦠but I was hoping for more than that I spse.

Lol. To be really fair.., there are loadsa 2 āincapableā parents thoughā¦, hence why I find it quite ironic⦠if we look around now, and even precedent generations⦠there are loadsa it. I donāt know if that is why the kid is so mature⦠maybe nature or maybe nurture..

Sad. If so then I think the TV adaptation did a decent job. I was really trying to read it via MTL but only got snippets here and there, so couldnāt totally piece tog the entire puzzle.
I still think itās super good although there are so many eye-rolling moments. The lead actress really managed…
Lol. Love your questions. So I did some digging into the novel. It looks like these are the questions they explored⦠but they provided very metaphorical answers and gave an open ending. So the whole novel was wrapped around realism⦠whilst also projecting these mistrust and doubts⦠cracks in a marriage⦠so how valuable is monogamy⦠wot is everyoneās definition of monogamyā¦.?
Two different physiatrists said she's fine š I honestly hoped she's mentally ill but she's just a bjtchShe even…
Lol. I like your last statement! I laughedā¦. everyone is so riled up by Song Jiaās character. I am too. Esp the whole car exchange⦠but there really are discrepancies⦠and Iām as curious to this as much as Iām curious wrt on-going caseā¦
Two different physiatrists said she's fine š I honestly hoped she's mentally ill but she's just a bjtchShe even…
But thenā¦.. I really hope they provide an explanation for the discrepancies thoughā¦. Regardless of who is having the mental illness⦠like⦠esp the points I mentioned in the spoiler. I also really want to understand wot is on about the hotel room thing⦠hence why I tracked down the novelā¦. Butā¦. There is no Eng translation and itās not a webnovel, itās a published book⦠had to collect bits and pieces via the webā¦
The on-going case I have no doubts it will be solved⦠it has been progressing well.
Guys and girls. Regardless⦠I still really liked this drama. Still looking forward to the ending, kinda counting…
1. Like Pei Zhen and himā¦. She sent him signals but it seems like they both have contradicting memories on wot actually took place wrt his responseā¦.. I legit donāt think she was hallucinating thoughā¦. Wot took place in the room, fine, that was her deduction⦠but wot she said about him telling her if she divorced then heād follow suitā¦. Thatāsā¦ā¦. š¤ 2. The slitting of FLās wristā¦. Hurmmmmā¦. Is he not hallucinating? She clearly doesnāt even have a scar⦠she was unscathed.
Guys and girls. Regardless⦠I still really liked this drama. Still looking forward to the ending, kinda counting down. Everyone is so pissed at the FL (including me, kinda reminds me of some real life people Iāve met that have said the exact same things) but no one brought up like how the ML might have a psychological thing going on⦠š¤£
I still think itās super good although there are so many eye-rolling moments. The lead actress really managed the role super well. She totally makes your blood boil, but at the same time puts one at awe when it comes to her commitment to work.
She reallyā¦.. knows how to suffocate and drain a personā¦. Not even kidding. I mean wot kinda bullshit was…
Lol. But the entire thing gives a dejavu feelā¦. like Iāve heard a similar story from a friend before⦠or Iāve heard similar words or scenario from someone beforeā¦. Which I always find so childish and self-centred.
I still canāt wait to see the last episode later⦠though from me hunting down the novelā¦. It looks like the ending will be quite open⦠though they did actually get a divorce, but I wasnāt able to suss out if he actually cheated.
I kinda respect the husband for not equally giving her back by constantly asking her if she actually loves him. Work as a reason only takes it that far, at some point it becomes an excuse. If it was me Iād just shut her up by asking why did she even ask for a divorce in the first place even when everything is just suspicion without proof. I donāt see her throwing all suspects into prisonā¦.. š super double-standards. Which fine, she admitted. But sheās being super unfair.
I swear Lee Dong Wook literally became better looking the past 2-3 yrs. like did he actually get micro-surgery on his face? Or is the change in hairstyle that big an impact? Or is it just men like him age like wine⦠coz he also looks quite different in Hotel King vs hereā¦. Defo not weight relatedā¦ š¤š¤š¤
I've watched 12 eps so far.As I said in my previous comments Ran dong is an excellent policewoman but her job…
She reallyā¦.. knows how to suffocate and drain a personā¦. Not even kidding. I mean wot kinda bullshit was she trying to justify when they were talking in the carā¦.. Sheās super self-centred.

Lol, no itās the novel. The original novel was like that. Most of it from wot I could gather.
I still canāt wait to see the last episode later⦠though from me hunting down the novelā¦. It looks like the ending will be quite open⦠though they did actually get a divorce, but I wasnāt able to suss out if he actually cheated.
