Overrated. I can see why people like it cuz there's plenty of elements to enjoy about it but the bad outweighs the good.
The casting. Out of the 3 childhood friends Ziqiu was the only one who's casting was spot on. Not only is he a great actor, he just really fitted the role compared to his costars. The female lead is a 30 year old actress playing a (very immature) 16 year old. The image just doesn't fit. There's a time skip later on but still. And the other childhood guy well, the only thing he got going for him were his looks. The dynamics between the 3 is just odd I don't know how to put it. I couldn't help but compare them to the trio of Someday or One Day which is a great example of how it should be done.
Storywise it's definitely interesting. I love the found family trope as well. One thing I didn't like tho is how bad the image of women is in this drama, it's like all the adult female characters were evil people. But that's not what my main bother was, the reason I stopped watching is because of what was coming. The childhood friends turned siblings turned lovers like really?? This honestly could've been a fun family drama to me if they didn't go the incestious route and if they had swapped the 2 main actors.
Currently on episode 5 and I'm enjoying this so much. What other works of Bakarhythm should I check out? I've seen Satsui no Michinori which was great too
Tysm HPriest for picking this up it was great! Seeing a pattern now that I really love quirky dramas like this and Oliver Na Inu, if anyone has recommendations like these pls lmk :)
Oh my god u have a long way to go before it actually picks up. Honestly its gonna be like this mostly but maybe…
Ahh I see ty haha! I'm on episode 17 and I like it so far but the pacing is very on and off for me like one moment things are moving a bit too slow but then it picks up again and so on so knowing around what ep the current arc would end would've been super helpful but ig I'm just gonna have to wait and see
