I am honestly disappointed because the novel is really good!
It's apples and oranges actually.
Although the novel is good, both the story and characters are rather straight forward. The drama focuses on those aspects and significantly better.
Novel is better in the scale of the story which is kind of a given because it's a text media. If you like politics, wars, and state-building, it's a good read.
I keep having two random questions stuck in my mind.... 1. In ep 4 when dude gets burned alive there is a eunuch…
1. Lishan Academy still has its fragments scattered throughout, just like that scholar who painted together with Ye Li. It could be both but I would like to assume it's the latter.
2. Imo, souls in terms of those who were executed as well as died during the defence against Cangbei 8 years agao. My understanding is the same as yours, armies usually get disbanded under such scenario.
Ye Li... she really let Qing Shaung go because MXY asked her to. So, she replaced Qing Shuang with her younger self when she needs an emotional support....
Yes, both of them are real princes from the royal family.Mo Jingli is the son of the former crown prince.Mo Xiuyao…
'Qin Wang' is the rank of the title, which means 'Prince of the First Rank'. It's usually bestowed only to immediate blood relatives of the Emperor like sons and brothers.
'Ding' is his personal title. So, his formal address is 'Ding Qinwang'.
There are other ranks of Prince titles too, like 'Junwang' which means 'Commandery Prince' which are usually given to sons of Crown Prince and Qinwang.
In English, all of those titles translate to as just 'Prince'.

Yes, both of them are real princes from the royal family.
Mo Jingli is the son of the former crown prince.
Mo Xiuyao is the cousin of the current Emperor, and Mo Jingli's uncle. He also refers himself as 'Qing Wang' which is the highest title a Prince can hold.

We are loving this drama for it as well, it's nostalgic and also refreshing.
Though, airing (express) will be finished on 28th. You can slowly catch up during the week, and join us on the final episodes.
We gonna be in a ride for the next few days.

If that's what you mean, based on the conversations between Sui Zuidie and Han Mingyue in ep27, Mo Jingli doesn't know about it.
