Everybody have different thoughts and can discuss it over here. If you do not have a problem does not mean others…
This is so true. I enjoy discussing with fellow watchers, regardless of positive or negative views of the drama. Because I can reason and hold a proper discussion with them.
For the trolls and haters, they just choose to ignore any constructive discussion. They'll pull out anything to spread their narrative. You are just wasting your time and energy arguing with them.
Why wasn't the XZ rewarded anything after the battle? Only the Li guy and and CY?
There are politics at play regarding the rewards.
For XZ, it's kind of difficult to reward him further because he was already enfeoffed as a Marquis, and he holds real military power. Plus, he's publicly regarded as someone from Wei camp due to his blood tie with Wei Yan.
For Changyu, the geezers at the court don't want the military authority to fall into either hand, so they chose a middle ground and gave it to Changyu in the form of a reward. Because that's better than it falling completely into either of Wei or Li's hand, and they plan to rope her in to their camp later.
I've long given up regarding this aspect in the dramas, not just POJ. Seems like many directors and writers prefer…
And it's such a cheap way to add shock factor at that.. they could have totally kept those ones alive and achieve the same result tbh. Novel did it, why can't the drama too...
And all the politics were stripped off to bare bone... they really wanted to keep it as a rom-com.
ah... my rambling. This is like my sour spot for that drama. lol

You mean Mo Li right?
Yeah, the synopsis already looks quite different from the novel. If they pull it off correctly, it might even be a better approach than half-assingly condensing the novel I guess.

You should definitely check out Mo Li. It's novel name is Golden Age Legitimate Fei. The story is pure epicness of intense romance, deep intrigues, and massive wars. Mydramanovel should have it now.
Tyrannical Wang’s Beloved Wife. This one is super long, like 600+ chapters. But the romance is chef's kiss, and it makes use of it's long length very well. You can find it on Novelupdates.
If you like revenge story, what Ti02 suggested are very good ones. Malicious Empress, Rebirth of a Star General (LOTFG), etc. From same author.
Since you like romance, I'll add a few more with just pure fluff with interesting writings.
Greetings, Ninth Uncle. No drama adaptation. Very unique FL, and super fun dynamic between the main leads.
To Be A Virtuous Wife. No drama adaptation. If you liked this novel, check out other works of the author. Each of them are unique and very charming. Many of the author's works have drama adaptation, but all of them failed to capture the charm of the novels imo.

You stopped at the point where things start to become bat shit crazy lol.
Just watch it with a fresh mind. I'm sure the drama will differ quite a bit from the novel anyway. It'll likely follow Blossom route which is basically cutting off tons of sub plots.
I'll be happy if we get good battle scenes and decent adaptation of the politics, that's enough for me. haha

Sometimes, drama only is the way to go haha 🤣
But my impatient a** led me to read the novels of upcoming dramas every single time lol. After POJ, I'm very very concerned about Mo Li next, because the novel is about 3 times longer than Zhu Yu. 😂
I would have liked better if they had done the palace politics part in a more serious way, rather than adding…

One of the examples from recent dramas is Prisoner of Beauty. While they did a very good job at making changes to the main characters, they kept everything else very... 'light'. Totally different flavor from the source material. So I just tried to watch it as a standalone drama.
umm.. because I enjoy watching it?Seriously answering, I liked the novel and this adaptation is one of the better…
What was cut for Xie Zheng here is child's play compared to He Yan.
They kept all her romance scenes in but cut out a lot of her military exploits like how she formulate strategies, how she leads army, etc. If you want to see He Yan in all her glory, just read the novel.
Genuinely asking, what do you guys like abt this drama other than the cinematography? The plot feels all over…
umm.. because I enjoy watching it?
Seriously answering, I liked the novel and this adaptation is one of the better ones. They didn't butcher Fan Changyu like LOTFG did to He Yan. That's already a win in my book.
i just saw episode 34 to 40 on dailymotion I'm confused? i thought it hasn't premiered yet
It was leaked sadly. If you've watched them, please don't discuss contents from those episodes here yet, as many viewers are still sticking to official schedule.

May be this is just my preference speaking.
Did you rely on only those machine translated subtitles? Or do you understand Chinese?
Because those subtitles are crap, and often off from the original meanings by a mile.

And I gotta support my girl Xiao Tian.
They even made sure to keep ZLH is facing down and TXW is facing up to perfectly get the black and white dots in the center.
Because Wei Yan wants to bury everyone and everything related to the events back then.
Anyhow, that was so funny lol, him fumbling to make her stop crying.
