It basically got watered down to nothing through adding outside investors and was stolen by Gao through a series of sales and investments since Gao was his executor. Still waiting to see more details come out as they fight to get it back.
I saw many comments below saying they want to see Li Xun suffer more because he made Zhu Yun suffer....I mean,…
For me, there’s a difference between him suffering and working to get her back. I don’t like jealousy games or such misunderstandings so I’m gonna hate that he’s going to go through that. One thing I liked about their relationship is that they are each other’s ride-or-die. They make up for each other’s shortcomings and enhance each other’s strengths.
I think I missed something. What was XY work abroad?
She got a graduate degree at Cornell, interned at Google and won an award from Oracle. She had a lucrative job offer and just needed to get her visa renewed.
And they both were like “what are we even doing here”😂😂 i still didnt get why lin xun applied there
🤣 I think ZY explained it well. It’s a small company that is beneath GAO’s notice so he won’t interfere but if LX applied to any of the larger companies, Gao would block it.
LX still has shares which is why he offered the buy-out. He can’t legally unilaterally dissolve the partnership…
Yeah…it’s $$. I don’t think he had capital before nor did he think about starting a business of his own yet. He was relying getting into a large firm after earning awards/recognition through competitions. To me that’s the real reason why he’s jealous and feel inadequate compared to LX who was never focused on that. As RenDi said, LX has a clear goal and is different from the rest of them. He’s been earning money through freelance programming since probably high school because he had to financially support himself and his mother’s illness. Gao comes from a middle class family so so $$ but was always top of the class until University hits. He only see the short tern goals in front of him while LX plans and plays the long game which is why they butt heads when they work together.
I give Gao credit for being able to do business but there’s not much innovation at their company since they mostly acquire and copy from others. He seems good at M&A. M&A and networking with possibly some illegal stuff on the side, otherwise him and FZJ wouldn’t have been able to grow L&P that big in just 3 yrs.
I'm so annoyed. I was just looking at a trailer on Tiktok and saw somebody commented the ending, and also I saw…
That’s what the spoiler box is for. Sometimes I just check that box just in case even if it’s an episode that has passed and am always grateful for reminders.

Thanks. I was trying to make sense of what Gao did. 😊 I only started looking and studying this stuff because of potentially starting a business with friends. Like what LX said about ZY, I’m a little too straightforward and trusting that people would be the same 🤦🏻♀️
Yeap…thievery by Gao. He put $0 and effort into starting up L&P and basically stole it because LX trusted him. I believe Gao said LX’s 1% means nothing so basically LX’s 50% got reduced to 1% based on the investors Gao brought in and his own reinvestments after selling off the medical portion of the company and paying off whatever went with it. In the novel, he basically offered the $1M start-up capital that LX put into it as charity when he was talking to ZY.
He get L&P when he is 36 years. Gao get a tumor and go abroad for recovery. Fang will go to jail for 11 years…
The timeline in the novel is also different. LX served almost 7 years in prison and ZY was overseas for 5 years and was already back and working freelance for a year before LX got out. They were older I believe.

I was looking up about shareholders and buy-outs and there’s a lot of legalities to it when there’s a shareholder agreement, especially for privately owned companies. The legal way is if one party violates the agreement. I get that LX made him executor or the director, but that didn’t dissolve his ownership of the shares nor do I think LX gave him rights to sell off his shares so I think it’s where the addition of investors had reduced LX’s shares compared to the funds he put into starting the company. I think they also did some legal/illegal maneuvering on the equity structure to completely remove LX’s name 🤷🏻♀️.
The way I understood what happened with L&P. Gao got 50% (previous ZY shares) and was made as legal executor also…
LX still has shares which is why he offered the buy-out. He can’t legally unilaterally dissolve the partnership unless someone breaks a clause in the shareholder agreement. LX’s shares are basically buried because of the other investors and him giving Gao executor. Technically, LX is entitled to proceeds even if he isn’t an active part of the company but he hasn’t taken any funds. With LX not listed in the shareholder, it makes me think that they pulled a lot of “legal” stuff to bury his part in the company. I’m thinking this is where FSM comes in as the legal eagle.
So what’s the deal with ZY and her childhood friend? We know she doesn’t love love him but do they sort of…
He’s got feelings for her but knows her whole story. They’ve been childhood friends and her parents like him and were hoping but ZY has always been clear with him on where they stand which is why she feels bad that he does stuff for her including giving her parents an excuse to why she’s remaining in China.
Sometimes you are arrogant, and thats right down part of a charm of person, but when it is repeated unnecessary…
It’s how I feel every time they use this trope in a drama and I don’t like it but I understand. The look in his eyes when he told Gao to keep ZY out of this. She’s literally the only thing he has to protect which is why he chases her away but she’s also that flame that he keeps circling back to. I can’t wait for him to make it up to her.
