He enrolled in 2019 and is just finishing up I believe. It’s in a lot of articles because he got criticism recently since he was still a US citizen at the time so netizens thought it gave him an admission advantage as a foreign student.

Lol…loved the dads and the kids in that. They gave CFY twins to take care of. Would be awesome if they showed an epilogue scene with LX, ZY, and their kids.

There’s a line in the novel that ZY’s mom says and I think her father said in the drama, “it’s difficult for a poor family to bring forth a good son” so yeah family background is a big thing for them. Even though he says he doesn’t believe in that, his actions show otherwise. In fact the whole study abroad is so that they have a different environment and probably hoping ZY will see that LX and her are at different levels since he deflected the question about accepting them as a couple with that there’s a long road ahead and they’re young.

Yeah…I loved him in Go Ahead. So I hope they’ll surprise us.

Ep 1-22 is part 1 and ep 23-36 is part 2…it’s divided based on the 2 parts of the novel.

Lol…I’m watching Lighter and Princess. TRS will always be my #1 but L&P is catching my attention so far.

I see that ZY’s dad is in the part 2 trailers. I hope they changed how her parents are from the novel and give them growth too. From the bits I saw in the novel, her mom was really stuck in her beliefs about the whole breeding determines a person’s future and worth thing. In the novel her mom even liked FXJ and excused FXJ’s wrongs because he’s from a “good family” (his parents were government officials) and will always be right while LX doesn’t have a proper family and “no good sons come from poor families”. ZY’s smoking was her secret rebellion against her mom’s involvement in her best friend’s suicide in high school. When I got to that part I was shocked but not shocked since her mom is very strict on right and wrong and for educators, in high school it’s wrong for girls to chase boys and be in a relationship.

From the preview, they’ve kept ZY’s character just like she is in the first part. She’s definitely stronger than in the novel and larger part in the fight against Gao/FZJ.

Yeah…and not letting him continue school but he found ways. The child abuse in the novel was brutal and most likely wouldn’t pass censorship.

I think they filmed almost in order of his hair changes…the scene where they shaved his head in prison was when they actually did it. Also, I read CFY didn’t go out as much when his hair was blond was towards the beginning because he didn’t want awkward looks so I think that part with the blond promos was near start of filming. He also said that tickling scene was one of the first ones they filmed and they had just started working together so it was hard at first.

- I think ZY and their little group did the hack. And I like that they have ZY play a bigger role in his comeback too. I love the power couple aspect.
- Does the drama have ZLN marry Gao? I only saw her walk into the room but they didn’t introduce her, only her voiceover about Gao. Gao did get married in part 2 but I stopped reading. I like the rearrangements of events from the novel because it works for a drama for once.

Same here, I understood his personality in first few episodes. From my POV, he only has attitude when he doesn’t have the patience to explain things to someone who doesn’t want to understand. Usually with Gao. I see it’s different when he talks to Wu. He doesn’t give direct answers when it’s something simple and gives clues so that they figure it out themselves. He’s calm when explaining things to some of the other members at the base too.

Lol…I used goggle translate. It looks like people were trying to “incite rumors on conflict with promotional activities and Weibo is asking people to not cause conflict or drama. Official schedules are posted as is. The officials would not do anything to harm the production and the lead actors. Weibo asks people to enjoy the drama rationally and not be a part of the internet drama.”
Responses keep talking about respecting CFY so I’m not sure if it’s because of Weibo posts by fans regarding promotional activities which is causing drama on the net. Maybe Weibo is trying to quell things so that it doesn’t get crazy like a fan war. Just like the speculation that the leads want bigger productions next…they’re both rising actors and such rumors can hurt their future opportunities.

In the novel, didn’t he have his own gaming contacts which is why he went in that direction with the company since it was fast profits. Looks like he uses FZJ’s contacts/resources in the drama? Also, I agree he seems too confident, even the way he acts towards FZJ. FZJ is about using back doors and cheats so he probably learned that stuff from him too. It reminds me about what LX said to ZY about her heart. She is straightforward and would believe a contract for what it is but that’s not how people do business anymore.

I think they said the left eye was removed. In the novel, he had a prosthetic eye. I’m not sure about her being with Gao but XLN is from a rich family who has their own business and it looked like she showed up to a business forum. Also, what she said was before LX went to prison. She’s not like ZY so we’ll see what part she plays later.

The ML doesn’t have much patience for contradictions and behaves the way he does to keep people/emotions out. As the series moves along, you’ll see that he’s not always a jerk. Also rather than going with status quo, he’ll find ways to satisfy both school and personal requirements. There’s a line in the novel that explains his attitude, he made a promise to himself from a young age to do what he wants to do and say what he wants to say and bear with the consequences…because of what he went through growing up. (Luckily, they changed his backstory because I think people would have had a hard time with the amount of child abuse he went through in the novel) However, this drama does a good job of showing growth and consequences of our actions. Just like the romance, the ML’s development also takes time which is realistic. It just takes some patience to get through the first 10 eps or so.

They changed it to drinking. It’s the “rebellious“thing she does cause of her good girl, listen to parents image. Lol…many of us know the feeling when you have controlling Asian parents and college is your first freedom.
