This is only the top 10, but if you already watched most of them and am looking for more down the list (after…
You're right! Horror movies give the suspense/tense and when it climaxes it ends and the credit rolls, lol. Just like that. It doesn't even need to fill plot holes with logics. Meanwhile that don't happen with horror dramas, need explanation or people will rate them low ;D

Fantastic observation article! Here are my watching stats from the lists you provided4/10 - All-time6/10 - Historical…
I think the top rated and popular modern Cdramas are predominantly romance/romcoms that's why you don't watch any ;D. I read somewhere that is the main reason why people like modern Cdramas more than Kdramas or move from Kdramas to Cdramas, reminiscing what Kdramas used to be. While now there are more genres added in Kdramas so they're no longer simple romance/romcom dramas. The other way around with Cdramas, the more genres added in their romance dramas the harder they pass censorship, lol, For example: fantasy, crime, mystery, supernatural ;D

I think I'm better now since I age, I used to hide behind the chairs while my family was watching horror shows!…
Sometime ago I read an article states that dramas/movies with vampire theme is not popular in Korea cos vampire is a Western (European) culture. So maybe werewolf too? Cos werewolf is also from European culture, from their folktales. That's why gumiho theme is very popular with the Koreans cos it's in their myth, also in China as fox demon.

I think SK is the best portraying horror (I watched horror+romance or horror+comedy). Their costume/makeup/prop…
I watched the Kdrama (Bring it On Ghost) first tho not a while ago then the Thai. In BIOG FL is more mischievous and Kim So Hyun's acting is better cos she is a seasoned actress. But chemistry is better in LFG, since KSH was only 16/17 when acted in BIOG so not much romantic scenes. Bromance between the two friends is better in BIOG. The ghost is scarier in LFG and they have more background story, so is the villain. Big who played as the Dr Jade, he's a good actor (I watched him before).

Are these shows really the top of the horror chain? I mean...are people really that scared of zombies? O.O
To answer the question... it really depends what you're looking for. Since this list is the search result for overall horror (minus romance/comedy), these are the dramas that show up as the top. If you're looking for something more specific, for example psychological horror, more feature you need to add in the search engine. Besides, you know on MDL Kdramas are the most popular, following by Cdramas, and then Jdramas/Thai dramas. The last two are usually under the radar/underrated. So even if there is a good horror drama from those 2 countries, but since there are not many people watched it or compared to Kdramas is underrated, the drama won't make it into the list

Horror is the best! I particularly love Korea's portrayal of the genre, I hope to see them do more in the future…

A gift to the people you hate and Girl From Nowhere yesss. Top tier. I love them so much. Sweet home is good too,…
If I were to watch a horror drama, I will pick A gift to the people you hate. The synopsis sounds so interesting, and I watch Thai dramas so I'm familiar with the cast

You forgot to add Hometown - currently airing, one of the best thriller, cult oriented, and psycho show.It is…
Haha... I didn't forget cos Hometown started airing on Sept 22. This list was made/the article was submitted on Sept 3. You are a writer so you know how long it takes for articles to be edited/published. That's why I submitted a while ago so it would be ready for October. Who knows... if it's really good Hometown will replace one of these top 10 shows... Probably you want to write a review/recommendation article for it so more people will wanna watch it ;D

Oh wow. I thought I don't watch too many horrors since I'm the type to hide behind my blanket during scary bits.…
Though I don't watch these but when I looked them up I wondered too about them being real horror dramas. Perhaps because they're Korean and Chinese dramas that not real horror but up there because of high ratings. I thought the scary horror are like what Japanese and Thai make.
