Yeah i understand where you are coming from but its the act of consolidating a sibling-sibling relationship between…
Since you mentioned Go Ahead in the other article, yeah they were raised as siblings. I mean the dads probably told them (I don't remember the details it's been a while watching the drama) to call each other brother and sister. That's why the drama makes a 9 year separation and the boys go live with their real families so when they meet again they feel like strangers than siblings. Not sure, is this one an adaptation from a novel?
Thank you for a great article! My favourites are:1. Battle of Changsha - I guess it's simply too sad drama for…
Regarding number 8. I haven't seen anyone wrote a compilation article on detective/crime dramas on MDL before. There is someone actually claimed to write an article about best crime/detective/thriller about it.
I am reading Chinese Novels, but haven't watched any drama so far. Interesting to see that those novels are now…
Hmmm... I don't know... I read a lot of comments when some novels are adapted into dramas there are changes that are not necessarily in favor of people who already read the novels. It's because of the Chinese censorship they have to tweak the plots. I guess if you want to watch an adaptation, don't give a high hope it will faithfully follow the original work.
I wanted to try a Republican era cdrama, but they have this bad habit of killing off MCs. I can't stand to fall…
I don't watch a lot of Republican dramas, but I know for sure Arsenal Military Academy doesn't kill the MC (though there are deaths of supporting characters) and neither does My Roommate is a Detective
Word of Honor also has a rating of 8.6 and its finale 8.8, which means roughly 8.7 overall and should have bern…
I actually wondered about it too because of the hype received for a long time, the search result is it #14 from the top, below ELOD, Romance of Tiger and Rose, and Ancient Love Poetry.
Thank you for this interesting article.I have just finished watching Nirvana in Fire yesterday. :DWell, I havent…
JoL has a sequel. It has been delayed in the making but the production team (same one thankfully) will start filming next year. I was thinking to wait JoL2 before, but I just don't have patience so I watched it, the ending is a cliffhanger if you don't mind watching it, but the final according to the novel is HE (I read the ending of the novel, lol). Go Ahead is a very good slice of life drama, outstanding directing, script, and acting nothing else :D
This article is one of the favourites now. But i am still a beginner when it comes to cdrama. I never used to…
I'm glad I can help a beginner of Cdramas, especially the historicals. Been there done that lol. Let me know if you need more help. I do know there are some past articles about how to watch historical dramas I can link you to them.
Can you write an article about top 10 Chinese movies in various genre? I don’t have patience and time for the…
I'll think about it, but the thing is with Cmovies are the subs. Cmovies don't get much attention as Cdramas do because Cdramas get more money from international audience. You need to be iQiyi or Tencent members to be able to watch Cmovies cos they're locked.
This is some great work and this list remind me that I afew shows that I need to go back to.He is my ten , I am…
I am also a generous rater, normally I rate a little above final rate. But I have a montly ritual to go back and review my ratings and change it if necessary. I mean sometimes I got too emotional when the dramas end and rated them based on feelings, lol
This is exactly what I needed. I have been struggling so much with cdramas, can't find "the one" yet. I've actually…
My beginning with C-historical actually is kinda odd. First I watched the light-hearted romcom ones (my first is The Eternal Love not Eternal Love), it was 2 years ago, but I was afraid to watch the serious ones. Then when I watched the popular modern Cdrama Meteor Garden I was quite smitten with the F4 boys and want to follow their future works. I saw Dylan Wang would acted in Ever Night 2. The prequel Ever Night is a serious historical Cdrama. So I already set to watch him when it his drama came out. When I watched Arsenal Military Academy I read the leads already played together in The Legends, another serious historical. So I watched The Legends. The rest is history. I think you should try with the actors whom you watched before and really like. It's definitely a strong motivation to watch a historical drama ;D
