Family glory and honour and duty over personal needs. And with his upbringing, he will somehow be scheming because he needs to survive the palace politics. Hope he gets some redemption at the end of the drama otherwise I expect to see a beautiful karmic end for him. The Shen Yurong ending in TD was very beautifully done.
After watching all these, if I should be sent back to the past, I will opt to live outside the palace, just be from a merchant family selling tea, silk or spices. Should be able to experience ancient times without the stressful palace scheming. LOL...ðĪŠ
