They had a delicious villain there too. In the end, he got his just desserts in terms of punishment, he should not have done those bad things. But after I learnt the reasons for it, my heart went out to him. Like you know he deserves his punishment, yet feel sorry for him due to the circumstances. This villain started out as a good person also. Sighs...

I love these kinds of delicious complex villains. But the script writers must be able to tell their story well to do them justice. Usually, the focus is on the leads because there is not enough time to tell the story in 50+ episodes. Now it is even worse with the 40 episode cap rule. I won't be surprised that they left out many of SRQ's back story to be able to focus on the main leads.

I find these characters very interesting. They struggle so hard with what is right and wrong. Did you watch The Untamed?

I think SRQ likes the princess but he knows he cannot be with her because of their families, status and with the knowledge of what happened in their previous lives. Hard to stay away from someone you like. Just as Pei was supposed to only take a peek at the 18 yo princess but ended up staying to "help her choose the best option" because he likes her and wants her to be happy in this life. Same for SRQ. He showed up late at the garden party probably because he was in the same dilemma as Pei. He just wanted to see the princess even if he could not be with her.

It was also a nice gesture on SRQ's part to help greet the bridal entourage for Pei. Pei did not have any help to greet the bridal entourage in his first life. I hope in this 2nd life, SRQ gets his happy ever after with someone who can be with him.

I am slow in watching, just finished Ep 9 only, maybe there could be something in the later episodes that might change my mind about SRQ, but for now, he has my sympathies.

There are many these kind of characters in recent cdrama who get so much negativity. But if one understands it, makes the characters so deliciously complex even if they are considered villains. To me it is kind of grey sometimes.

Family and duty. I think this kind of burden is tough to bear. But if people don't understand it, they cannot empathise with the character, making these sorts of characters come across as weak and a pain. 😅

LOL...what is it about Rong Qing that annoys you?

She did indeed seem very harsh to Pei in those first few episodes I watched. But I think deep down inside she loves him, have to watch for her small actions of showing love and care to him. I thought it was very funny when she invited him to share the cloak with her when they camped outside after getting away from the Yuan villain. When she asked him if he felt cold, he was too man to say yes, but jumped in before she could complete her sentence when she rephrased it, murmuring why didn't you ask earlier. LOL I could watch them bicker all day. It is so adorable.

Hahahaha...Yes, Pei and Li Rong show their love for each other in their own ways. I loved in Ep 3 Li Rong made Pei eat citrons, I think partially because she was stalling his departure. It was to be their last meeting. 🥹 And then quickly asked the maids to send a cloak, money, anti itch powder and ginger drink to him. Awww...if only they will stop fighting and just be sweet to each other. But guess that is what makes the show so entertaining.

Just started watching and found myself whizzing through 3 episodes in 1 sitting.
Though this has SOKP vibes, it is different. Enjoying the story so far.
Love how Pei and Li Rong bicker like the "old couple" they are in their younger bodies. Awww....🥰

Finally got round to watching TPR. More TTEOTM alumni doing well! YES!!
Water diety looks good as Su Rong Qing character. 😍😍

Only caught the first 3 episodes, but I am hooked. I thought it was funny how the leads were bickering like the old married couple they were, but in their 18 & 20 yo bodies, because they are indeed old souls sent back to their younger bodies. And they actually love each other. Another case of people not communicating well, leading to tons of misunderstandings between 2 people who actually love each other despite everything. Sound familiar? LOL

I am expecting a HE for this drama.

Unfortunately, there will be no S2 for TTEOTM. Yes, that ending had many of us ripping our hair out in frustration, weeping and wailing like mad people. LOL After so much angst, we would like to see a better ending. Dang you YOUKU! We want a special episode for this
