This is a great article! We need more articles like this on MDL :) Very interesting to compare people's thoughts…
And I personally don't need a happy ending as long as it is logical and consistent with the plot overall. But a happy ending for me depends on a genre.
In romance: when two leads end up together.
In slice of life/friendship: when nobody dies and all characters have some sort of closure and content life.
In revenge: when the lead succeeds with the revenge, no matter if they died in the process or if they didn't end up in a relationship. Unless despite succeeding with their revenge they still lead a miserable life.
In any other genre where there is a fight of good and evil: as long as the evil is destroyed I don't care so much about the leads. If the evil manages to survive but is only put to sleep, and the leads are happy, this is not considered a happy ending for me.

It would be awesome to explore a bit more and examine how subjective the ratings can actually be :) E.g. what is considered good acting, what is considered a good villain, what is considered a good protagonist, what is considered an interesting plot, etc.
This cracked me up tho hahah: "The evil is defeated, most side characters are safe and sound. However, one of the main leads dies, and the other waits 400 years for their reincarnation." Classic fantasy drama trope. If there is no time skip is it even a fantasy drama...
Him turning back to his older self was a bit anticlimatic tho
I agree with you! Don't get me wrong... I think it was the good way to script it like this. But I think there was something missing from the actual execution... like I wasn't even sure if he has actually changed or if it's just one of those scenes where it just shows his inner older self... Da Jung had a kinda surprised face but it was just a bit bland for me. I'm not sure how they could have done it better without using cringy CGI but I was just hoping for a more exciting reaction from them 2 than just staring at each other :)
I absolutely loved this. Just a reminder for myself to not always trust the ratings. I wasn’t expecting much from this... only a silly comedy for casual watching. But I was quite surprised at how intrinsic was the plot getting at times. Loved all the short stories that lead to the finale. This is a drama about friendship and love but hidden behind the mask of comedy and silliness. Brilliant (:
This was a good watch! Just a shame that they decided to cramp in as many cliches as they could in the second last episode... but ok. I’m not letting that affect my overall rating anyway. Lee Do Hyun’s acting was marvelous! Will be watching out for his next works for sure (:
Can you only watch it with a viki pass subscription? :/ because I really really want to watch that one lol
If you are able to, I highly recommend becoming a viki volunteer (: if you are German you can get involved in English->German translations. Once you become a QC you get a viki pss for free (:
Opinion: a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.Knets are the…
Unfortunately everybody HAS the right to say whatever they want... if somebody thinks you are wrong they can say you are wrong. That’s freedom of speech for ya. Whether it’s ethically right or wrong... that’s a different question (: for me it just shows whether one has basic manners or not. If I get trashed for expressing my opinion I simply ignore it because why should I care about the opinion of a rude person that I have never met and will never meet in real life (:
