I'm really, really confused about the beginning (1st episode)...
We see what is supposed to be young Lu Zheng arriving on scene when another boy (young Li Wu according to the subs) apparently killed his father. The boys fight and Li Wu slashes the other boy's back with a knife. Then we hear the narrator say that he now has a new name and the name is Lu Zheng. Wasn't this his name before? Or is it Li Wu who's talking? Later in the same episode we see grown-up Lu Zheng, but it's grown up Li Wu who is looking for someone with the knife-scar... Was the father the father of both boys? Who assumed a false name?
Thanks 😊 Who is that FL, dont know her yet, is she good ?
I've never seen her in anything... seems to be yet another little girlie using JT as a training partner. I really wish they'd start giving him more experienced FL actresses. I just hope it won't be another case of acting off against a cotton ball for him like in ChongZi.
Thanks to PeachBlossomGoddess for explaining some of the historical context. It helped to clear up a lot. I agree…
Could someone please put the explanations regarding historical context under the comments section? I think they are very useful for any non-Chinese viewers and this would make it easier to see them and save people asking the same questions over and over...
Was just checking out the English subtitles and a translation error jumped out at me in Episode 14 from 6:30 minutes…
Thanks for this! It is a great help for all of us who have to rely on subtitles. So far I only watched one episode, but I had the impression that the subs were a bit sloppy...
💥I think Jeremy and Cheng Xing Xu offer the best acting in Cdrama these days. They are both very charismatic…
I certainly agreed with you regarding Jeremy Tsui. I was particularly impressed with comedic timing. It's something that is almost impossible to train and not all good actors can do both serious and comedic roles. I couldn't comment on Cheng Xing Xu, as I've only seen 4 episodes of TSL and nothing else. For me, there would be Chen Kun, Luo Yunxi and Leo Wu that I consider similarly capable actors.
you really can't digest the fact that he's loyal to his wife huh
If an actor cannot do what it takes he should take the role. It's the same for any other profession: if you can't speak French, don't become a translator of French novels, if you can't drive, don't become a truck driver. It has absolutely nothing to do with loyalty, but a lot with professional integrity. PS: were the fake-abs in The Blue Whisper also because of loyalty?
A lead actor that never should've been an actor since he has a no kiss on screen policy(a wife & child is no excuse,…
I would like to add the absolutely sub-par martial arts choreography. In some scenes the stunt guys were throwing themselves to the ground or over a wall even before being hit.
one of the things i'm grateful for is that this drama aired shortly after the hot mess that was chong zi and painted…
Yes, even though it means no more Jeremy Tsui for the rest of the year, I feel the same. He can do so much more, but he needs good writing and a decent FL (who can act). It seems to be the fate of some good actors to end up with shitty scripts while high-profile dramas are given to ridiculous traffic-actors who cannot act and need fake abs.
still can't understand why HYT wants to kill HLL, he seems to like her a lot. Now need another fun drama like…
I've started Pledge of Allegiance. It seems quite good, but it isn't the same lighthearted genre. Be careful when you go on the MDL page, some people posted heavy spoilers without masking them.
Does the character Yun Han exist in the book? Does he end up with Lady Du in the book?
He does exist in the book, he is a qin player in a music venue that the girls visit. When the Crown Prince hears that Hua Luili booked him to play for her he organises a raid on the venue and has him arrested. After briefly being imprisoned next to General Awa he is now on his way to work in a quarry as a prisoner. Not sure how his story will continue as I'm still reading and have just arrived at chapter 40 (of 145).
Okay, so just saw the tag obsessive male lead. Now, living in 21st century, I should oppose toxic shit but god…
Yes, Xiao Duo was a wonderful grey character, but the way they "cleaned him up" for Unchained Love destroyed the who drama. It's so ridiculous when everyone in a drama is afraid of the ML but there's nothing to justify why.
I have to say that I really didn't like this cliff-hanger ending, especially since nobody seems to know if and…
I understood from some comments further down that they only released half of the 40 episodes that were originally filmed. So this would allow for a 2nd season... It may, however, be a misinterpretation, so don't take my word for it.
I think the key to understanding his comment lies in the two words "almost like" dissociative disorder.

Duuuh! No surprise there! 😂😂😂
But it will be good for a wider audience to finally see it!
It has absolutely nothing to do with loyalty, but a lot with professional integrity.
