nooo i feel bad for CQ (the fifth prince)... like he is truly grieving for his wife, not knowing that she's right…
In the original casting his role was a “special guest” role which means that he is cast outside of the billing order but the role can be equivalent to a normal main role. There is no category for this on MDL and with the new rules on billing all the “guest roles” are thrown in the same category. He will not drop out midway.
is the novel good? or should I just watch the drama?
It is very long (800+ chapters). The political schemes and plot lines of the side characters are quite entertaining but the description of the relationship between the FL and ML gets very boring and repetitive in the second half. I really had to force myself to finish it.
So after giving us all these teasers with his gorgeous real voice, Tencent decided to dub Jeremy Xu. What an utter disappointment!!! It feels like half of his performance is missing 😭 The voice actor just sounds so boring and lacklustre. We have been robbed big time!

You and me both! 🤣 It would have been even better if they hadn’t dubbed him. The strange voice feels so out of place! Check out the first four episodes of Southern Anecdote. His guest appearance was 🔥 (just way too short) and he is using his real voice.
No hate (seriously), but does he wear a wig in his TV appearances or during promotions?I’m genuinely curious.
It’s a legitimate question. It’s not a wig. The stylists sometimes use hair extensions because he likes to keep his hair rather short and they seem to think that he must have long fringes over his forehead to look like the other ten thousand idol boys. Many fans dislike this styling as he looks very handsome without any such gadgets and they keep telling him. The look that he had in today’s livestream or at the opening ceremony of Dancing with the Tide is his normal hairstyle.
I have some doubts, i know i should wait patiently ,watch the upcoming episodes to clear my doubts, but i want…
The actor who plays the ex-husband (or widower, to be precise) is Jeremy Xu. This is his comeback role after he took some time out to look after his sick father. He has a “special guest role” and based on the time he spent on set, he should have a decent amount of screen time. In the novel, his character had a very interesting and complex plotline unrelated to the FL, but it was more towards the end of the novel. I hope they have kept this in the drama rather than just focusing on his relationship with the FL. You can blame the lack of main roles in recent years on his useless agency and the fact that C-entertainment favours traffic, not talent.
I don’t know how they put it exactly in the drama, but in the novel, the consciousness of his dead wife is absorbed…
No, he didn’t do anything wrong. He didn’t spend much time with her because he was busy doing the emperor’s bidding, that’s why he later feels so much regret. I don’t think it would have changed though because she was brought up not to feel anything for another person. Even her suicide wasn’t an act of despair but a scheme to frame the people who cause her family’s death. She was an extremely rational and cold person and this part of the personality also influences the FL’s behaviour towards the ML after the transfer of consciousness. The reason why she chose him (out of the multitude of princes) was solely because he was said to die soon. Her plan was to have a child and then become the de-facto ruler behind the child-emperor. I’m not sure how much of this they will keep in the drama version because it doesn’t suit the romantic vibe of idol dramas.
mzy’s character looks soo badassss!! the main pairing looks good too. anyone kno what Jeremy Xu’s relationship…
I don’t know how they put it exactly in the drama, but in the novel, the consciousness of his dead wife is absorbed by the FL. She is still herself, but she has the knowledge and memories of the other person as well. They looked nothing alike, so there were only small hints that made Xiao Changqing (Jeremy’s character) suspect there was something unnatural going on. In the drama version they made it a lot more obvious and he becomes obsessed with the FL in a way that he never was in the novel., turning him into the perpetually suffering third wheel. Jeremy and Meng Ziyi starred in another drama (Royal Rumours) together as a couple, so this will be like a “next life” continuation.
I think this is only how Tencent chose to promote the drama. In the novel there were only the ML and Xiao Changqing who pursued her. Xiao Changqing was unsettled by her similarity to his dead wife, but she made up a story to explain it and unlike in the drama version she didn’t look like her at all, so he had no further interest. In the drama version, however, they chose to also make Xiao Changqing pursue her. Couldn’t resist the temptation of the previous couple, I guess.
Anyone here?! Whenever you finish watching this drama, please let me know which episodes feature Jeremy Xu/Tsui.…
He should have a decent amount of screen time. His role is a “special guest role” which is different from the standard small guest roles, but there isn’t any category for this on MDL and with the new billing rules in place, this distinction is no longer made in the official announcements either. Just to give you an idea, Jeremy was on set for 54 days (total shooting cycle 124 days).
I found it on youtube under the title I Used the Town's Bad Boy to Get Revenge... Now He's Using His Heart to…
The drama hasn’t been released yet, how could it possibly end up on YouTube? There are many low -quality copy-cat dramas on YouTube that just “borrow” the title of other popular dramas.
