However, his role in Blossoms of Power is officially a “special guest star” role (there’s just no category for this on MDL) and. That means that it is not limited to the scope of a normal guest role. He filmed on 54 of the total 124 days of shooting, so it should be a sizable role. He also has a main role in Dancing with the Tide which he is currently filming. None of his recent roles have been support roles (if it is indicated anywhere, it’s simply incorrect).

I saw Tencent mentioned it in their new rules last year that high-level dramas must have a finished script before the project is approved and actors can be contracted. However, judging by what happened to Yang Yang, they don’t seem to stick to their own rules.

Hopefully more people will follow Tan Jianci’s example and reject cat-in-the-bag projects, where the script is written while they are already filming. It would vastly improve drama quality!
It might still be a bit early to ask but does anyone know how much longer for filming?
The drama was launched on 25th January and allowing for the estimated number of days required for filming (see ShadowBloom’s comment) and the New Year’s holidays, I would expect them to wrap up in early June. This is just my guesswork, so don’t take it for a fact.

Similar values. Respectful and not afraid of other actors doing a good job, it’s natural to get along. It’s very funny though to see them rehearse their lines off-scene. It shows how every little expression is planned, not accidental.
