Given how avid (and financially desperate) iQiyi are to use AI muppets instead of actors, the rumours that every role except the leads and second leads will be occupied by AI muppets feel legit. For the sake of every supporting actor or extra in the C-drama industry, I can only pray that this flops HARD!

Maybe for 520 (the “Chinese Valentine’s Day”). Many dramas release some romantic content on this day, but I’m not sure if DWTT wants to promote this angle.
The question shouldn’t be what Ai can or cannot do but whether we need Ai to do something that could be done by just using our brains. In most cases it will turn out to be nothing more than a gadget that eats up a lot of resources while the brain works for free. The same goes for acting, there are plenty of both talented and good looking people around. People who rely on Ai to find out how to boil an egg will one day turn into technology-dependent vegetables.
The bits with the real-life actors look good. The CGI monsters on the other hand look incredibly fake and tacky. As a company that wants to replace actors with Ai muppets, I would have expected iQiyi to put in a little bit more effort.

I think dancers’ outfits depend on the dynasty the drama is set in. In some periods they were probably more “buttoned-up” but I agree, since this is fiction, they could’ve been more daring.
