I hardly see any romance though. I personally don't fancy the actress playing Tang Fang but I would admit she…
The whole scene where he ripped her traditional wear and the married woman was like, "Why don't you marry each other." Type of cliche scene... But definitely they aren't going hard on the romance. It's much better as bromance and brotherhood, loyalty, etc.
I agree with you. Now that you say it, we rarely EVER see dramas where the bad guys win. In this drama, it's so…
I'm not as up to date with the show but I'll get there. I liked the fact that Power Gang actually had multiple spies in almost every sect. It shows how influential they are and that it's not a joke. It shows power and make them a more formidable villains.
Tang Rou? Lol unexpected choice. I would say Liu Sui Feng for the enemies to lovers LMAO the system wanted him to reform Liu Sui Feng so like I would say as a couple, there is potential but I prefer it stays without romance. The interaction between the characters haven't been great so far. It's feels surface level because it's more plot base and less interaction and growth between the characters.
I'm hoping he won't end up with anyone till the end because I also don't like the "grief" sort of "chemistry". He only trying to keep her safe because of her brother. The romance being built on that isn't doing it for me.
I paused before I even finished the episode because wtf did I just witness??? The two brothers just beating on Qiu Shui took me aback? Acting like he personally killed the parents. Like excuse me? Y'all were about to bring ruin to the family by trusting that Sword King not even two episodes ago. "We wish you were dead." Time out. Let's delete this show.
Bring back the sister. She was the only character I liked outside of Qiu Shui. Bring sis back. She would never have judged her brother like that. Like y'all were that close to losing your family AND your brother.
Watching this for Cheng Yi. Originally, I just wanted to watch Fox Matchmaker but the show never dropped so I decided to just give this a try. Definitely a very, very slow start and one that may not pay off for a lot of people. I really appreciate the fact that the author allowed the villains to get a big win. I like it when the good guys lose and have to pick themselves back up. It makes the storytelling more engaging and not as boring. This is tough watch for a lot of people because it's building it up
What I hate though is the romance. It feels so forced and out of place. It doesn't help that the female lead just annoys me. She is adds almost nothing to the plot.
This was me. As the episodes go on, he makes more sense and I agree with him.
Genuinely. The more I watch, the more I think he isn't being cruel enough. While his method is crazy, and painful, it's very short-lived suffering for all the shit they did for 500 years! He kills them quickly which is mercy in a way for what they've done.
My jaw. This show gets darker more and more but it is so subtle, you feel like it's not noticeable but then an outrageous incident happens and it returns you back to reality.
At the end of ep 5, in the flashback, his mother was talking about how they cut up someone from their family clan. I thought like they killed her... Then ep 6 came and omg, the realisation that these disgusting cultivators dismembered and possibly ate people from Sima clan which would explain how they ALREADY got their blood was shocking. Ewww. Jiao, send in the floods.
When Jiao killed two of them, I never felt sorry for them but now? I fully support whatever he will do.
Hold on a second, she literally said, his waist is SNATCHED lol while he thought she was acknowledging they starved him (which she was) BUT like he took that as a reminder to torture them. The scene was a mix of funny and horrifying.
I was going to start this today until I found out the episode is 35 minutes long because of that one actor... The show on hold now until there is enough episodes for me to marathon because I don't think I can wait to eat just crumbs per day.
After ep 11, I thought ep 12 will be a disaster but it was actually not bad. My problem with it though is that you can really tell they SKIPPED a lot. I feel like the time skip was unnecessary. Like what was the point of not letting her graduate with the rest of the team? And we didn't even get proper conclusion of everyone else. The timeskip was so unnecessary for me but for the great first 10 episodes, this remains one of my top 3 of the year.
Funny enough, I can actually imagine Gyeon U taking over Seong A's role as a shaman when he started using her…
Gyeonu as a shaman would be very interesting because he hated shamans for his whole life so seeing him shoot was nice and all but it's doesn't give much. The show kinda flopped the execution again because everything happening too fast.
I think what annoys me is the fact they didn't need to make a grand finale. Just consistent writing would have been enough. In these two last episodes, they could have had Gyeonu learn more about his past and Seong A help Bongsu cross over, make it emotional and just end it normally.
If they really want to extend it, they can hint for a sequel were Gyeonu can now see ghosts. And the sequel basically expand on the world building, giving us many ghosts and unique circumstances /spells, maybe even have a new deity claiming they want Gyeonu to worship them because he is among the rare to see ghosts and they will give him their powers. The writer can play around and have him resistant but eventually trouble arises and the situation calls for it. Then he learns more about the shaman world, learn how to use it, etc.
The characters established themselves enough to carry this drama. This wasn't necessary.
exactly, they changed the genre, plot, and pacing all in the last 2 eps. so many time skips too, very poor writing
Nothing worse than seeing a show that is doing great in it's genre, plot and pacing but suddenly crashing out BADLY. I usually don't even like this highschool shows that much but every once a while, we get gems and I thought were getting a gem but it turned out it's a rock. The writing is too poor and I have no expectations for ep 12.
