What I like about LYN is that even in cold-looking ML roles, he’s never boring to look at. His micro expressions…
Liu Yu Ning is honestly a good actor. He been playing these rigid, cold role with barely much acting required, looks can cover it but he brings so much life into them. My sister previously ask me who I think are good Chinese actors and I was thinking off Luo Yun Xi, who was really good in Till The End of the Moon. It showed his range but I had a hard time listing male actors. Zhang Wan Yi have a lots of potential but then I thought of Liu Yu Ning, even though I’m not a fan of him, his acting feels genuine and real. Now I’m watching this and I’m thinking, “He is really good!” it reinforced my idea that he is a very good actor.
I completely agree I mean if the emperor a grown ass man thinks a little boy is behind the assassination somehow…
100%!!!! That emperor acting like a child yet he is leading the country! Like he doesn't have any ounce of good decision making sense. Not sure why he is in this position.
NH definitely should have suspected but in the end, the emperor sent to the cold palace to restrict him and punish him. Yes, I'm with you on that point. He definitely just wants a peaceful life and to help people. That what makes him a better emperor than his brother.
Not gonna lie, I almost cried from the way the shitty emperor was treating his son. It's his "cornering tactics" that's getting into me. He pushes him in a way that doesn't allow him to back away. The clear favoristism and different treatment between the brothers. Giving your son a sword over what HIS brother caused? Nan Heng knowing he is not favoured and also misunderstood so he was going to do it JUST for his fuckass dad to be pissed about how he is ruining HIS IMAGE??? I kid you not, I had to stand UP from the couch and pace around after I witnessed that.
Listening to Song Yimeng telling him how unfair this whole ordeal was.... I am with her on that. Like it really was unfair that she was dragged! but while I was agreeing with her, I'm thinking, damn, Nan Heng can't even say that it was unfair for him too and could only apologise. This episode definitely triggered me.
Gu needs to grow tf up! I was gonna say he needs to get off his high horse and he did. He did so I gave him grace and decided I'm not gonna making an issue of his obnoxious behaviour but then I see the backstory and you telling me, you are an adult and you still believe a little boy was responsible for your aunt's death??? Bfr??? And you clinging into that grudge and thinking ill of him for years???? Bfrrrrrrr?? You kidding me? It deadass look like assassins killed her and her guards! But he is being bitter about it as if he was responsible for it? Nan Heng is pitiful. He have to listen to people talking ill of him to his face AND behind his back.
All of his wives and concubines were placed strategically there to spy on him. And he knows it.
Like it's so obvious he doesn't care about those women at all. It makes more and more sense that he is forced to marry them. I believe they will all be gone and he will only keep his one true wife, our fl.
I'm trying to understand this but it's difficult for me. She is just a character in this world, she has nothing…
She already had her cards to play and it showed in ep 11 when she reminded him that he tried to kill her multiple times. It gives her an edge. She is not an idiot plus she can't be killed so I'm sure she had a way to offset this sort of situation. I can see why you think it's dumb though because it's a huge risk but the show makes it a joke.
I'm saying he knows that she actually a good person, she is just misunderstanding him like everyone else. But he likes her because he sees so many good qualities in her that she only shows Li Shijiu that's what I meant.
Oh my goddddd, my heart breaks for Nan Heng. Anything he says, is being used against him almost immediately. He tries to hold his brother accountable, he is blamed, he tries to take the blame from his brother, he is doing it for ulterior motive, he wants to hold people who harmed him accountable, he did it himself, he tries to do anything, he is blamed! Let me man go you sonofabitcheeeeessssssss!!! Oh my god. Let him breathe!
Like that’s my girl!!!! That’s my fking girl! Y’all don’t get it. She eats so bad. You bully her? She bullies back IMMEDIATELY! She doesn’t even hesitate. One strike after another. You push, she pushes harder! What he did doesn’t qualify, it’s messed up in the head but she matched it. She knew how he operates and made him set his own trap. She is the one. And that scene were he sutured… and he leaned in. Like I wasn’t screaming…. I didn’t freak out. The red flagness is flagging but he said he met his match. And you know what I like? She wants to teach him a lesson… like exactly! Please do! Teach him to never fk with you again!
All of his wives and concubines were placed strategically there to spy on him. And he knows it.
Damn, interesting plot point there. I wish I found out this on my own as I haven't caught up yet but they definitely spicing it up with these revelation.
and for that we thank the Prince for this sceme because they ended up together 🤣🤣
Like thank you for leading her into it I guess? 😂 she gonna have a tough life there but better than being locked up with that 4th prince, not being able to fight or move without her moves being scrutinized. Although she definitely not going to have it easy with this one either.
Ooooohhhhh seems like Madam won’t be here by the end of the show. Those with divided loyalties must be punished with no mercy? She probably gonna die or divorced. An unexpected twist with her. Love the fact she is a threat. I’m guessing she married him to spy on his moves for the right chancellor. I wonder how he got trapped into marrying her.
The way she bulldozed her way into marrying him. She refused his rejection and forced her way in!
And Omg omg the spiciness. Already chaotic with the wives. The wife seemed decent because I’m confident he doesn’t love her and she accepted the fact he doesn’t. They just have a respectful marriage but hazing... that hazing is giving bully. I guess she needs to keep the girls on a leash so she have no choice but to be a little bit cruel but already an interesting dynamic. The top concubine… we already know she will make it as difficult as it can be. But my girl definitely have the brightness mind. She came to win. I feel like if her circumstances were normal, she would have never accepted but because she is desperate her brother, she is predicating every humiliating scenario and accepting it so she can plan ahead. This is getting good.
I thought she was going to be marrying one of the princes but then I saw all the princes and was like, “Hold up, where is my man?” And I was wondering how they gonna go from marrying a prince to a chancellor but now I see it. Whoever schemed this had a vision. Wanted to get rid of both at the same time or maybe just the chancellor.
Anyway, Meng Zi Yi looks so fking gorgeous here. Red is her color.
Haven’t watched it yet but if that’s how it went; there’s hope. I have a feeling GCH would sell his own…
I would say he got the right mindset because Li Shiliu did something that creates doubt but like, he never trusted him in the first place and that's why he ruined the plan. He is not there to help others LOOOOL you kinda see it with how he doubts constantly, as shown from the start when he doubted the female lead. My issue with him is that I don't feel sincerity from any of his interactions including with the female lead that he apparently"loves". I thought he would be moved and in love when she defended him aggressively to Li Shiliu while he was listening in the closet but he kinda had an underwhelming reaction.
NGL, the scene which Nan Heng finally understands her kinda ate. Like he finally got someone who trust him unconditionally because nobody does. It shows us the contrast with Gu literally being doubtful of him from the start and even threw the whole team under the bus. Something Nan Heng being familiar with his whole life.
However, Song Xiao Yu didn't. She was willing to take the blame for the assassination of the prince, which would lead to the her whole family killed, instead of not taking accountability for something THEY planned. She was willing to OWN UP to it which makes her a trustful ally to have. Not only she did that but also helped "him" escape.
Now the romance can actually bloom from his side because he knows, whatever hatred she had for "him" is just a misunderstanding.
From her side, she also believed he had full trust in her words. While Gu out here thought she was making shit up about the fire, Li waited because he was willing to "listen" and give it a try.
I like it! Now we need to shed the misunderstanding and belief that Nan Heng is the evil one because I doubt he will reveal he is Li Shiliu so we have plenty of scenes for Song Xiao Yu to see him without Li Shiliu interference.
There were multiple witnesses to who started the fire. If, somehow, Nan Heng gets blamed for this... It's just means there are multiple covers up AND many people aren't taking accountability for their actions. And of course, Nan Heng gets blamed for it because he is benefiting the most from the situation when in reality, he is the one saving it. The same way when they assumed him winning with his army against the big ODDS where it was 3,000 to 30k 40k soilders, meant that he caused it even though he was really the one saving the kingdom. I'm going to wait for tomorrow episode but I'm excited to see it. Hoping the punishment will go to the right person.

GAGGED! SCREAMING! THROWING UP! LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS!
