This dumb ass prince omg. I guess I should be celebrating that we have an idiot here that our couple can easily deal with. If I was Huaijin, I would be pissed that this guy is the one I keep cleaning his mess. All he needs to do is stay put and listen but he always act and doesn’t even bother to tell Huaijin so the mess can get bigger and bigger. If that’s not the biggest proof that he is not fit to be an emperor, I don’t know what is. Like he isn’t evil and smart, is evil, arrogant, and dumb which is so much worse.

What a waste of talent of Huaijin. And I actually liked the sibling bond between Zhenzhen and him, it reminds me a little of Taohua.

The emperor… he is no good guy. He is evil too in a way. He is willing to let evil go unpunished if it’s beneficial. I hope the next heir is the 4th prince because he is the most compassionate and clearly cares about justice. I have no doubt that the emperor wants someone to keep Shen Zaiye in check.

while I’m enjoying this, I feel I’m watching the same episode over and over again. There’s not really been…
I agree with you. Not much is happening and the plot isn't developing steadily but in a way, it's like these characters are part of my daily routine. If I was marathoning it, I feel like the pacing will be so jarring. This is one of the shows where you really have to like the characters to fully enjoy it.

I'm only on Ep9. By what Episode does FL stop this senseless dissing of NH like he's the one and only cause of…
You will like NH more and more but unfortunately, she starts to accept him but she still doubts how the plot will befold so she doesn't fully accept him in her heart.

no, because nobody told her
Was hoping she would find out because it was such a selfless and sacrificial act. I don't want them to brush past it. He lost too much trying to rescue her dad out of his love for her.

Unexpectedly, I'm digging Shangguan and Yitang's dynamic these past two episodes. How he has been trying so hard to break it while she is tolerating every nonsense he sends her way. I felt bad for her when he insulted her like that. I really want to see him wearing that blue trailored outfit she designed with that mask so they can be both matching. It would be scandalous but fun to see.

Lmao Yi Meng when she have to act but she uses that fake, higher pitched, whiny voice and Nan Heng recognise it sooo well. Like just now I'm imitating the way she fakes it. She is funny.

But Nan Heng staring at his hand like it was blessed because she held and kissed it... Awwww my man is touch starved.

but how is it taking her so long to adjust to changes when all the characters hv been so different to wat she…
Because a lot of changes are happening but she is also actively acting against many plot points. She been trying to save the outcomesl so she can't see the difference as clear as she should be. She is noticing but she is also missing a lot of details as well. The story tells us more Nan Heng pov than her pov.

No wonder the Emperor favors Nan Rui. He is just as childish. At least the 18th prince isn't an absolutely horrible…
Nan Rui is pathetically funny especially when he tries to "help" but his father doesn't want him. He is also very spoiled but I would say this is because his dad's pampering. He is not a bad person and we can see it. He just got so many naive thinking and is not fit to be an emperor.

bruh, there is literally no storytelling, what are you even talking about? The script has changed ages ago, yet…
I'm sure you didn't expand beyond the dramas but there is a genre of stories called Manhwas. There is a section where the characters either transport or time travel in the past. And there are authors that have abusers kill the FL, then she goes back in time to fix it and then tries to escape her faith by treating the abuser like trash and relying on herself. That causes the abuser to treat her differently because "she is not like the other girls" even though he killed her before when she was kind and faithful then she fall in love with him because she thinks he changed. Do you know how many readers get mad by this plot? Many because the fans can't believe she falling in love with her abuser when her abuser didn't change, she did and it's romanticing the abuser.

Now in here, it's a little different because the script did change, he is not the same person but the important scenes are still heading the same way. Often in this storytelling, we are seeing his POV more than her POV. We are seeing his suffering more, we are getting his backstory more, we are getting scenes that she isn't there to witness like him taking the punishment for her father, him clashing with his childhood best friend over misunderstanding, the reason why he is so mistrustful, etc. she doesn't get to SEE all of these details. However, We, as readers/watchers, DO. We can tell the script changed. While for her, she thinks the script is changing because she is actively acting in a different direction.

So yes, there is storytelling, you just dgaf about it. You don't care about the details or what's it's trying to convey. If you don't like it and think it's a kid show, feel free to drop it.

They had better not give him a redemption arc, or I’ll lose it! He deserves to die in the most brutal way and…
Exactly! This old man made us so violent! Haven’t hated someone like this in a while.

I sooo agree! There is nothing he can do in the future that would absolve him of all the disgusting things he…
I can never forgive him. There is no redemption for him for me.

Nooo babes if the emperor doesn’t die the most brutal, agonizing, soul-shattering death known to man, I’m…
Exactly!!! Like I need someone to actually rebel and end this old man. He is just cruel and ruthless. He can't treat his children fairly, how can he treat his kingdom fairly either?

I was just gonna comment abt this ksksk I’m a bit nervous especially when it comes to the scene of NH choosing…
Like the sister clearly isn't in love with him. She likes the image of a cool guy so I was thinking maybe a new girl will be introduced because it's hard to tell how that will turn out.

If it’s following the script so far, this iconic scene will unfold in ep 22.
You keeping track, omg 🤣

The next scene should be about the wedding where they stab each other. I'm thinking it will break there because…
Lmao I forgot that happened in the wedding day because I was laughing at how ridiculous it was but like I'm confused by the logic of it overall. If you stab each other, does that mean all three survived or died? I don't think it's in the script but probably a scene that they wanted to add... I can't be too sure.

People still dislike the female lead? I get that her behaviour is frustrating but I would like to say that kinda what makes her a great female lead actually. There is two key factors behind her behaviour. She read the script. This is the main highlight. If you read a story and you know a character is known to be a villain, cunning, scheming and there is no good qualities and you entered a script, are you just going to believe he is nice? When it's explicit said he is a schemer and deceives people? I'm not trusting him either.

The second point is the fact he tried to kill her. Like yea, it's Hella funny and we love them red/black flags but realistically, this doesn't fly either. These two combined is enough for me to act even worse than her. Mind you, she wants escape the fate of being killed horribly by the plot. Unfortunately, even though a lot of things changed, the scenes didn't (another key point) so that means she knows she is heading towards doom. She will reach that point where her body will move on its own and jump her off a cliff... This is a very dark conclusion she has to come in terms with.

I need people to focus a little more on the storytelling and less on the romance. I like a good romance too but I'm okay if I didn't get it in the first 10-20 episode. There is 20 more to go.

Anyway, another iconic scene were Yimeng couldn't escape it. At the stage we going in, the next iconic has to be the one where her sister slept with Nan Heng. I'm so curious to see how that one is going to play out because the scene is sooooo messy. Like is Yimeng going to be forced to cry about it and all?? Lmao? Or the script is going to FINALLY change? I'm so curious about that one.

Ep 17

Oh my god... Last time I told y'all I hate the emperor because he uses his "cornering tactics", do y'all see it in this episode? He literally coming up with bullshit punishment because it's his only chance to punish Nan Heng and he knows it will be justified. If I hear a peep in the future about how "The emperor truly loves him, he was protecting him 💔" we all gonna die together. Y'all coming with me! Lol I'm just kidding but like please, I better not hear this crap..

when you put it like this, I'm thinking damn, he's going through a lot. this is why I loved episode 12 when he…
When I hear the fl complain about how unfair it is, I think of Nan Heng and how he will never know what it's like to complain about it being unfair because it's never an option for him. It's a given he needs to take the blame for everything.

I liked that episode too and I feel ike we need another episode of him being frustrated because it was not enough.
